David and his people mourn for Saul and Jonathan: Jesus Christ and His people mourn for Israel and Christianity.

2 Samuel 1:11-12

“Therefore David took hold of his own clothes and tore them, and so did all the men who were with him. And they mourned and wept and fasted until evening for Saul and for Jonathan his son, for the people of the Lord and for the house of Israel, because they had fallen by the sword.” 2 Samuel 1:11-12

David and his people were in deep anguish and mourning for the death of Saul and Jonathan. That is the same mourning the Lord Jesus feels for the affliction and persecution of Israel and Christianity.

All through the Bible, the prophecy is that Israel and Christianity will suffer to the point of deeply distressing the Lord Jesus Christ. But He promises that He sees every sparrow that falls, and we are of more value,

And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.

Matthew 10:28-31

The Holy Spirit prepares us for the day when Israel and Christianity are overcome. The “him” in the verse below is the beast which is behind the thing which forms what people think, feel, do, and speak to enable the image of the beast to live and speak through them. They dominate every city around the world and by what they say and do, they are conformed to the anti-Christian society as they are groomed to the mark of the beast.

It was granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue, and nation. All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

Revelation 13:7-8

The shortest verse in the Bible is “Jesus wept” John 11:35. In response to His compassion for the suffering of His loved ones, He is going to raise us from the dead into eternal life, just like He did with Lazarus when he said, “Lazarus, come forth!” John 11:43.

“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25
