“…on the third day, behold, it happened that a man came from Saul’s camp with his clothes torn and dust on his head. So it was, when he came to David, that he fell to the ground and prostrated himself.” 2 Samuel 1:2
Clothes torn and dust on the head represents anguish, grief, shame, and mourning. Prostrating at the feet of someone represents submission. Those who are raised from the dead to the judgment of their condemnation will be feeling exactly that way when they come face-to-face with Jesus Christ, who they rejected. They will bow before Him.
On the third day, God raised Jesus Christ from the dead as a declaration of His victory over sin and death. That literally happened, and also represents when Jesus Christ comes back in total victory over this world’s system. That is total victory over Satan, the beast, and the second beast (false prophet). It will be a day of great shame and remorse for all those who rejected the Lord Jesus Christ, which is represented by the man who came from Saul’s camp with his clothes torn and dust on his head.
Saul’s camp persecuted David and represents all those who live for the global culture of the beast against God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. Like the man who fell prostate at David’s feet, the day is coming when, “As I live, says the LORD, every knee shall bow to Me, and every tongue shall confess to God.” Romans 14:11 That is not recognition of God as Lord and Savior but is a recognition of God’s victory over them through Jesus Christ.
Saul’s camp also represents those who welcome the thing which forms what they think, feel, do, and speak. It enables the image of the beast to live and speak through them and by what they say and do, it is obvious they detest God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. They are conformed to their place within the camp of the global culture as they are groomed to the mark of the beast.
“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,“
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
“I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25, 3:1
