David defeats the enemy on the threshing floor: Jesus Christ defeats the persecutors of His people.

1 Samuel 23:1-13

  • The threshing floor is robbed of Christianity.
  • Jesus Christ is coming back to put an end to those who afflict His people.
  • The followers of Christ will be terrorized by the “democratic” global government.
  • Jesus Christ brings Salvation as we join Him eternally.
  • The global government of the beast intends to destroy Jesus Christ.
  • Jesus Christ makes intercession for us in prayer.
  • Followers of Christ are delivered into the hands of their persecutors.
  • Followers of Christ will hide in the cleft of the rock, Jesus Christ.

The threshing floor is robbed of Christianity. “Then they told David, saying, “Look, the Philistines are fighting against Keilah, and they are robbing the threshing floors.” 1 Samuel 23:1 The threshing floors are places where the grains of corn are removed from the cob. Ears of corn, husks and all, are thrown onto a threshing floor, then it is stomped on, walked on, ran over by cart, etc. to tear away the husks and crumple the cob. The grain of corn wiggles loose and scatters on the floor. A strainer is then used to throw out the husks, chaff, etc. into the wind as the grain of corn falls through the strainer to the floor. To rob the threshing floors would be to steal the grain of corn, which is what the Philistines were doing.

Today, the threshing floor represents separating those who live for Jesus Christ from those who don’t. The chaff, husks, etc. are those who reject Jesus Christ, and the grain of corn are those who come to Jesus for the remission of sin (Matthew 3:17).

Those who live and govern by the thing which forms what we think, feel, and do are stealing from the threshing floor. They are stealing the Gospel of Christ from society and not allowing anyone to be reconciled to God through Jesus. The testimony of Jesus is no longer in the churches, the values of the Bile are not in government lawmaking, the educational system has tossed aside the teachings of the Bible, and Christianity is not welcomed in any part of society.

This turbulent world puts people on a threshing floor to trample on them and break them apart. They are put through a threshing to make them deny God, denounce Jesus Christ, and trample on the Holy Spirit. People are pressured, afflicted, and put through hardships to make them allow the image of the beast to live and speak through them, which is enabled by the thing which forms what we feel, think, and do. As it lives and speaks through people they are conformed to their place in life, to their mark in life, as they are groomed to the mark of the beast.

Those of us who hold to Jesus Christ during the threshing will receive the reward of eternal life.

His winnowing fan is in His hand, and He will thoroughly clean out His threshing floor, and gather the wheat into His barn; but the chaff He will burn with unquenchable fire.”

Matthew 3:17

Jesus Christ is coming back to put an end to those who afflict His people. “Therefore David inquired of the Lord, saying, “Shall I go and attack these Philistines? And the Lord said to David, “Go and attack the Philistines, and save Keilah.” 1 Samuel 23:2

Having the permission of God, David went to attack the Philistines and save those on the threshing floor, which is what Jesus Christ does for us. He is coming back to clean out the threshing floor to bring His followers home with Him to eternal life and bring eternal hell to those who blaspheme God, reject the need for Jesus Christ and trample on the Holy Spirit.

Today, it’s obvious that Christianity is on the threshing floor and being trampled on and broken apart, but Jesus has the victory over the attackers and brings us Salvation. Jesus has won the victory over sin and death as He equips us with the Holy Spirit in this life. Also, Jesus is coming back to put an end to those who afflict His people, and we will live eternally with Him in the New Jerusalem.

Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war.

His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had names written that no one knew except Himself. He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God.

And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses. 1Now out of His mouth goes a sharp two-edged sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written:

KING OF KINGS AND
LORD OF LORDS.Revelation 19:11-16

The follower of Christ will be terrorized by the “democratic” global government. ‘But David’s men said to him, “Look, we are afraid here in Judah. How much more then if we go to Keilah against the armies of the Philistines?”  Then David inquired of the Lord once again.” 1 Samuel 23:3-4a.

David’s men felt fear to go to war on the threshing floor of Keila in the horrid situation they were in. They were pretty much outcasts and fugitives hiding from the wrath of Saul. It’s a fearful time in today’s society for Christians to even think about stepping onto the threshing floor of society where those who hold to the testimony of Jesus are being broken down and trampled on. We are pretty much non-citizens in their “democratic” society.

Today, the people of Jesus Christ may feel fear in this world surrounded by the masses of people in every city of the world who live for the “democratic” society of the beast. They live for the thing which forms what they think, feel, and do while despising Christianity. It enables the image of the beast to live and speak through them as they come against Christians, blasphemes God, scrutinizes Jesus Christ, and tramples on the Holy Spirit (As it lives and speaks through people they are conformed to their place in life, their mark in life, they are groomed to the mark of the beast). During this time, Jesus Christ stands in the presence of God making prayers and inquiries for us.

“And the Lord answered him and said, “Arise, go down to Keilah. For I will deliver the Philistines into your hand.” 1 Samuel 23:4b. The Lord told David that the Philistines on the threshing floor would be defeated by him. Today, God has already sanctioned the coming back of Jesus Christ in complete victory over the government of the beast and everyone who lives for it. Although we face the affliction, persecution, and hardship of being on the threshing floor, those who remain faithful to the Lord Jesus will inherit eternal life. Those who live and govern by the thing which forms what they feel, think, and do will be burned eternally in the unquenchable fires of hell.

As read in the verses below, the saints in Heaven, who have already died for their allegiance to God, wonder how much longer the followers of Christ on this earth will have to suffer. The answer is that Christians are yet to be killed at the hands of the global “democratic” government of the beast.

“And they cried with a loud voice, saying, “How long, O Lord, holy and true, until You judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?” Then a white robe was given to each of them; and it was said to them that they should rest a little while longer, until both the number of their fellow servants and their brethren, who would be killed as they were, was completed.”

“And to the angel of the church in Smyrna write,

‘These things says the First and the Last, who was dead, and came to life: “I know your works, tribulation, and poverty (but you are rich); and I know the blasphemy of those who say they are Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan.

Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. Indeed, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.

Revelation 6:10-11 and Revelation 2:8-10

Jesus Christ brings Salvation as we join Him eternally.

But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear Him, and His righteousness to children’s children, to such as keep His covenant, and to those who remember His commandments to do them.Psalms 103:17-18

“And David and his men went to Keilah and fought with the Philistines, struck them with a mighty blow, and took away their livestock. So David saved the inhabitants of Keilah.” 1 Samuel 23:5 It was a terrifying experience for the men of David to fight on the threshing floor to save the people there, but David emboldened them to do so according to the word of the Lord. As it turned out, David and his men saved the inhabitants of Keilah from certain death.

As terrifying as what the social environment for Christians is today, it progressively gets worse as the global government progressively becomes stronger. Already, we see how every city around the world is living by the thing which forms what they think, feel, and do. It detests Christianity and wants nothing more than for the followers of Christ to disappear. It enables the image of the beast to live and speak through people as everyday they make living by the teachings of the Bible very difficult. As it lives and speaks through people, they are conformed to their place in life, their mark in life, as they are groomed to the mark of the beast. As followers of Christ, we find strength in the Holy Bible and through the Holy Spirit.

Meanwhile, the global agenda of the United Nations becomes progressively stronger in implementing their goals in countries around the world. Jesus Christ wants us to hold to His testimony during these difficult days, “….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,“ ‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’” “I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.” Revelation 2:24-25, 3:1 Jesus Christ is coming back in total victory over the global government of the beast.

“Now it happened, when Abiathar the son of Ahimelech fled to David at Keilah, that he went down with an ephod in his hand.” 1 Samuel 23:6 Ahimelech was the priest who feared God but fed David and his men the Holy Bread anyway. Ahimelech’s son fled to David with an ephod in hand, an ephod being a very meaningful piece of priestly garment.

Like Abiathar, we must flee to Jesus Christ with an ephod in hand, meaning to come to Him ready to be anointed with the Holy Spirit and to act as ministers of the Gospel of Christ. We are anointed with the Holy Spirit by the remission of sin as we live for God through Jesus. Today, we don’t leave the task of spreading the testimony of Jesus to the churches because we are called to talk about Him who brought us out of darkness into light.  “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;” 1 Peter 2:9

The global government of the beast intends to destroy Jesus Christ. “And Saul was told that David had gone to Keilah. So Saul said, “God has delivered him into my hand, for he has shut himself in by entering a town that has gates and bars.” 1 Samuel 23:7 David went to Keilah to fight on the threshing floor. Saul figured David would be easy prey now that David was trapped inside walls and lockable gates of Keilah. David was locked within the place of the threshing floor.

Jesus Christ is considered easy prey within the “democratic” society of today by having walls built against His Gospel and being locked out from access into community places. Christianity is locked into a threshing floor where those who live by the teachings of the Bible, and Christianity as a whole, are being broken down and trampled on.

The masses of people within the “democratic” society lives by the thing which forms what they think, feel, and do and they are in every city around the world. The thing which forms their feelings and thoughts enables the image of the beast to live and speak through them. They are filled with despise against Christianity as they blaspheme God, discard the need for Jesus Christ, and tramples on the Holy Spirit. The followers of Christ are surrounded and locked into the mass process of threshing as the masses boast, “Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with it?” Revelation 13:4

Those who allow the image of the beast to live and speak through them are conformed to their station in life within the “democratic” society. They feel secure in being conformed to their mark in life as thy are groomed to the mark of the beast. The requirement for their sense of security is to oppose God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. They figure Christians have been defeated because of their overwhelming numbers as they have shut out Christianity by their fierce mental, emotional, and physical threshing.

“Then Saul called all the people together for war, to go down to Keilah to besiege David and his men.” 1 Samuel 23:8 The masses around the world, who live for the global goals of the United Nations (the government of the beast), are rallied against Jesus Christ and His followers. They consider the goals of the global “democratic” society to have priority over all politics, religion, and God. Through the thing which forms thoughts, feelings, and behaviors it sits in the temple of God, our body, as if it were God, “…it opposes and exalts itself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that it sits as God in the temple of God, showing itself that it is God.” 2 Thessalonians 2:4

A war cry has already been heard here in America against Christianity, and the Gospel of Christ is no longer available in the churches. Biblical values are not in government lawmaking, the educational system no longer welcomes the teachings of the Bible, and Christianity is not welcomed in any sector of society. Christians are surrounded by walls and locked gates of the “democratic” society as we are considered easy prey on their threshing floor.

The masses who protest and riot around the world shout in support for the agenda of the global “democratic” society because they are living by the influence of the thing which forms what they think, feel, and do. The image of the beast is living and speaking through them as they empower and give authority to the government of the beast. They demand nations to conform to global expectations. They already refer to those who live by the teachings of the Bible as right-wing extremists, and they despise Christianity.

As a follower of Jesus Christ, my victory is in Him despite the threshing, or thrashing, I receive by the masses who live for the “democratic” society,

I heard an old, old story how a Savior came from glory,
How He gave His life on Calvary to save a wretch like me;
I heard about His groaning, of His precious blood’s atoning,
Then I repented of my sins and won the victory.

O victory in Jesus, my Savior, forever.
He sought me and bought me with His redeeming blood;
He loved me ere I knew Him, and all my love is due Him,
He plunged me to victory beneath the cleansing flood.

I heard about His healing, of His cleansing power revealing.
How He made the lame to walk again and caused the blind to see;
And then I cried, “Dear Jesus, come and heal my broken spirit,”
And somehow Jesus came and brought to me the victory.

I heard about a mansion He has built for me in glory.
And I heard about the streets of gold beyond the crystal sea;
About the angels singing and the old redemption story,
And some sweet day I’ll sing up there the song of victory.

Jesus Christ makes intercession for us in prayer. “When David knew that Saul plotted evil against him, he said to Abiathar the priest, “Bring the ephod here.” 1 Samuel 23:9 The ephod was an apron type of article of clothing which high priests used in their service to God. David knew Saul was conspiring to have him killed and wanted the ephod to be brought to him so that he could consult God concerning the matter.

As followers of the Lord Jesus, He wants us to bring the ephod of our service and consultations to Him. He knows that His name and Christianity as a whole is plotted against in this world, “Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.” Hebrews 7:25 Whoever believes in Jesus Christ will not perish but be given eternal life.

“Then David said, “O Lord God of Israel, Your servant has certainly heard that Saul seeks to come to Keilah to destroy the city for my sake.” 1 Samuel 23:10 This world wants to destroy the Kingdom of God which lives within us. Not only do we hear about the affliction and persecution of Christianity in the Bible, but we are witnessing it today in real time. People are afflicted and persecuted for lifting up the name of Jesus as Lord and Savior.

The masses in every city around the world lives by the thing which forms what they think, feel, and do and their conspiracy against Jesus and His followers is evident. They allow the image of the beast to live and speak through them as they come against the teachings of the Bible.

The Gospel of Christ is no longer in the churches, Biblical values are no longer in government policymaking, the educational system has thrown out the teachings of the Bible, and Christianity is not welcomed in any sector of society. As the masses of the “democratic” society allows the image of the beast to live and speak through them, they are conformed to their place in life, to their mark in life. They are groomed to the mark of the beast.

The thing which has power over physiology, comprising our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors makes a mockery of prayer. It even wants us to see it as the answer to all prayers. But Jesus Christ makes intercession for us as we bring the ephod of our service to Him. Jesus has made intercession for us a couple thousand years ago, who God has heard, concerning the evil, affliction, and persecution in these times. The prayers of Christ are not hindered by the blasphemy of this world. One such prayer includes this,

I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one. They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.” “Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me, for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.

John 17:15-17

Even today, the prayers of the followers of Jesus Christ are in bowls in heaven as over 2000 years ago God promised to answer those prayers. Those bowlfuls of prayers have our prayers in them today, as stated below,

Now when He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.

Revelation 5:8

Followers of Christ are delivered into the hands of their persecutors. “Will the men of Keilah deliver me into his hand? Will Saul come down, as Your servant has heard? O Lord God of Israel, I pray, tell Your servant. Then David said, “Will the men of Keilah deliver me and my men into the hand of Saul? And the Lord said, “They will deliver you.” 1 Samuel 23:11-12.

David had two questions for the Lord, will the men of Keila (who were those working on the threshing floor) betray him? And will Saul come to Keila to take his life? Like David, the Lord Jesus went to God to receive revelation about the events which would unfold in the process of His ministry. Those events would include Him being betrayed by those where the thrashing and breaking down of Christianity was happening. It would also include the life of Jesus being sought to be crucified and killed.

Jesus Christ clearly had the answer to the questions He asked of God, and he was “gaslighted,” accused of being demon possessed, and flat-out being implied He was crazy. “Why do you seek to kill Me?” The people answered and said, “You have a demon. Who is seeking to kill You?” John 7:19b.-20

Today, the followers of the Lord Jesus know that Jesus Christ has been conspired against to put Christianity to death. As a result, the masses within the “democratic” society goes into “gaslighting” tactics and in essence mirrors what the crowds were saying to Jesus, “You have a demon. Who goes about to kill you?” Even so, the evidence is clear that the Gospel of Christ is no longer in the churches, government lawmaking excludes Biblical values, the educational system has tossed out the teaching of the Bible, and Christianity is not welcomed in any sector of society.

God gives us the answer to the question, “Will this world’s governing system betray and kill Christianity?” and is clearly stated in the following verse,

Then it opened its mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme His name, His tabernacle, and those who dwell in heaven. It was granted to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And authority was given it over every tribe, tongue, and nation. All who dwell on the earth will worship it, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.Revelation 13:6-8

While the masses in every city around the world live by the “deep secrets” of following the blasphemous thing which forms what they think, feel, and do, words of encouragement are given to us for these times of Christian peril, “….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets, ‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’” “I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.” Revelation 2:24-25, 3:1

Followers of Christ will hide in the cleft of the rock, Jesus Christ. “So David and his men, about six hundred, arose and departed from Keilah and went wherever they could go. Then it was told Saul that David had escaped from Keilah; so he halted the expedition.” 1 Samuel 23:13 Saul thought David would be trapped behind walls and locked gates, but David escaped. Likewise, it is easier to exterminate people who are locked out of the presence of the Spirit of Christ then to exterminate people who live in the Holiness of God. People without Christ die of many tragedies, such as substance abuse and violence.

The Spirit of Jesus Christ lives within our soul and cannot be trapped within manmade walls and locked gates. When we come to God through Jesus for the remission of sin, the Holy Spirit makes a home within us, and we become the home of the Holy Spirit. We depart from the affairs of this world, turn away from carnal lifestyles, do not engage in protests, riots, and political activism against the government. We walk in the Gospel of peace and put on the armor of God as described in Ephesians 6:10-20 Those who govern over the society of the mark of the beast will chase down turbulence, anarchy, and rebellion before they come against the peacemakers.

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints— and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

Ephesians 6:10-20

“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25
