David and his people flee to escape persecution: Jesus Christ tells His followers to flee from persecution

1 Samuel 23:13

“So David and his men, about six hundred, arose and departed from Keilah and went wherever they could go. Then it was told Saul that David had escaped from Keilah; so he halted the expedition.” 1 Samuel 23:13 David and his men escaped from being locked into the city of the threshing floor where they fought to save the people there. Saul was persecuting David and he intended to kill David wherever he found him. When David and his men were no longer on the threshing floor of Keilah, Saul halted the pursuit.

Today, a threshing floor exists within the “democratic” society of every city around the world. As Christians make their presence known in the community, they are thrashed and broken apart by those who detest the teachings of the Bible. Christianity is not wanted in their society and the best thing for Christians to do to avoid their persecution is to flee from it. Jesus tells us to flee from persecution, “Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand), “then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.” Matthew 24:15-16 The masses of the democratic society want us to run as far away from them as possible, and then they let up on their expedition to afflict Christians. They just want us to disappear.

The “abomination which makes desolate” (Daniel 12:11 KJV) is an intense dislike for something which desolates the something. The thing which forms what people think, feel, and do has an intense dislike for the Spirit of Christ and brings the desolation of Christians and Christianity as a whole. It enables the image of the beast to live and speak through people as they afflict those who hold to the teachings of the Bible. We are to flee from them and not expose ourselves to their torment. As it lives and speaks through people, they are conformed to their place in life, their mark in life, as they are groomed to the mark of the beast.

Jesus has this to say about escaping from the harm brought by the masses of the “democratic” society of the beast,

Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand), “then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.

Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take anything out of his house. And let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes.

But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! And pray that your flight may not be in winter or on the Sabbath.

For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened.

Matthew 24:15-22

As followers of the Lord Jesus, we walk in the Gospel of peace and put on the Armor of God in the process of “fleeing to the mountains.” The Armor of God is described in Ephesians 6:10-20

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints— and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

Ephesians 6:10-20

“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25, 3:1
