We did not know Jesus but now we see Him and live in His Spirit

“The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!” John 1:29 As followers of Christ we are the John the Baptist of these times. We see Jesus and our message is very simple, “Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!”

“This is He of whom I said, ‘After me comes a Man who is preferred before me, for He was before me.’” John 1:30 John acknowledges that Jesus came before him in time and is also of the highest standing in the eyes of God. Our testimony is that Jesus is the Holiness of God, without sin, and every person in this world has inherited sin. Jesus was with God from the very beginning of time and involved in the creation of the world before He showed Himself in the flesh.

“I did not know Him; but that He should be revealed to Israel, therefore I came baptizing with water.” John 1:31 John didn’t know Jesus from the very beginning, but he did know the Messiah would be revealed to Israel. That is why John did everything he could to prepare for the coming of Jesus. As followers of Christ, we didn’t always know Him, but a day came for us to come to know Jesus to be reconciled to God and prepare for the day when He comes again.

Jesus Christ came to bring His message to the Jewish people first, but they rejected Him. His message to them is the same message to us, to be reconciled to God through Jesus Christ. Today, we see how far the Israelis have drifted from their Biblical heritage, and they are instrumental as the thermometer of Bible prophecy. God’s judgment comes to them and started in 1948 when they were gathered as a nation. The global government of the beast was established immediately after WW2 as described in Daniel 8. The State of Israel and the world are progressing towards turbulent times.

The population of the Israelis riot and protest against the government of Israel because they demand conformity to the global “democratic” agenda. They discard their Biblical heritage and welcome the thing which forms what they think, feel, and do which enables the image of the beast to live and speak through them. Along with Israel, all the world allows the image of the beast to live and speak through them. At the same time, the United Nations is passing laws against the government of Israel for their police and military action against their “neighbors.” The city of Jerusalem is torn between the East and West and the Temple Mount has become filled with contention and violence and far from being the temple of God. On top of all that, the United States will not stand with Israel against the global agenda of the beast.

“And John bore witness, saying, “I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and He remained upon Him.” John 1:32 In a world of trouble and increasing tribulation, Jesus Christ is filled with the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of a dove. The world, like Israel, rejects the Lamb of God who has the Spirit like a dove, and it ends chaotically. However, we who receive Jesus Christ receive His Spirit by the remission of sin. He gives us peace in this world, the peace of the Spirit, not the peace which this world offers. This world offers peace through human dignity, esteem, respect, etc. but they reject the need for the Spirit of Christ and belief in God. They serve the creature but not the Creator. The closer they feel they are getting to achieving the global agenda, the nearer we are to the judgment of God and ultimately the return of Jesus Christ.

“I did not know Him, but He who sent me to baptize with water said to me, ‘Upon whom you see the Spirit descending, and remaining on Him, this is He who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.’” John 1:33 Jesus Christ baptizes the whosoever in the Holy Spirit. Before we come to know Him, we do all sorts of things which we do not do when we know Him. Whoever believes in their heart that Jesus Christ is alive after being resurrected from the dead and confesses in their words that He is Lord will be saved. That salvation results in the baptism of the Holy Spirit as we live for Him day-by-day.

“And I have seen and testified that this is the Son of God.” John 1:34 Like John, because we are the John the Baptist of today, we testify that we have seen Jesus Christ and He is the Son of God.

“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25
