Let’s keep traditions in the context of the Spirit of Christ. “Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ.” 1 Corinthians 11:1 Paul is an example of one who lives by the Spirit of Christ and not under the laws of the Old Testament but teaches the Old Testament scripture as revealing Jesus. We should be like that. “Now I praise you, brethren, that you remember me in all things and keep the traditions just as I delivered them to you.” 1 Corinthians 11:2 Paul was teaching Jewish traditions according to the Spirit of Christ. It is praiseworthy for all followers of Christ to keep traditions in the context of God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit.
Marriages are meant to be kept in the tradition of Jesus Christ. “But I want you to know that the head of every man is Christ, the head of woman is man, and the head of Christ is God.” 1 Corinthians 11:3 The teachings of the Bible have been removed from society and no longer exists in the churches. Instead of Christ being the head of the man and the man over the woman, the mark of the beast has been made the head of the family. It discards the need for Jesus Christ and has destroyed the family structure as God created it to be. It blasphemes God by propelling women into leadership positions who live by the thing that has power to form thoughts, emotions, feelings, and behaviors. Families aren’t even defined as one woman and one man anymore as the LGBQT+ agenda is propelled to the forefront in the “respect for marriage” campaign. All of this is done in the name of creating the global “democratic” society of the mark of the beast. Even so, the tradition created by God still stands, Christ is the head of man and man over the woman, and God over Christ. To deviate from that tradition shows how far we have deviated from Jesus Christ and how far into the last days we are.
Men should not dress like women and women should not dress like men. “Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonors his head.” 1 Corinthians 11:4 Paul associates having the head covered with having long hair, which in essence is dressed to look like a woman. “But every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head, for that is one and the same as if her head were shaved.” 1 Corinthians 11:5 For a woman to have her head uncovered is equivalent to dressing like a man, that is the same as having her hair cut like a man. Long hair is the beauty and glory of a woman. “For if a woman is not covered, let her also be shorn. But if it is shameful for a woman to be shorn or shaved, let her be covered.” 1 Corinthians 11:6 It is a shame for a woman to dress and act like a man, so if it is indeed a shame for a woman to act and dress like a man then let her be covered.
The woman is the glory of man and man is the glory of God. “For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of God; but woman is the glory of man.” 1 Corinthians 11:7 Men are the image and glory of God and women are the glory of man, which is another way of saying Christ is head over men and men are the head over women. “For man is not from woman, but woman from man.” 1 Corinthians 11:8 In the beginning, the woman was not created from the dust of the earth, she was created from the rib of Adam. “Nor was man created for the woman, but woman for the man.” 1 Corinthians 11:9 The woman was created specifically as a partner for the man, and the man was created from the dust of the earth as the image and glory of God.
“For this reason the woman ought to have a symbol of authority on her head, because of the angels.” 1 Corinthians 11:10 The symbol of authority on the head symbolizes being under the authority of man, as established by God. Which is the establishment of marriage as intended by God. Today, the thing that has power over physiology destroys marriage and makes a mockery of God in the process. It destroys the idea that women are for the man, and the man is the glory of God. It establishes marriage on the mark of the beast, which detests the teachings of the Bible and Christianity.
Men and women are interdependent and should not try to be like the opposite sex. “Nevertheless, neither is man independent of woman, nor woman independent of man, in the Lord. For as woman came from man, even so man also comes through woman; but all things are from God.” 1 Corinthians 11:11-12 Men and women are not created to be independent of one another but unified in the Spirit of Christ. Women came from man, but also man comes from women during childbirth. Even then, all men and women are from God. Man did not create women and women did not create men, but man and woman are interconnected as the creation of God.
“Judge among yourselves. Is it proper for a woman to pray to God with her head uncovered?” 1 Corinthians 11:13 Is it right for a woman to dress like a man when she comes before God who created her to be feminine. “Does not even nature itself teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a dishonor to him?” 1 Corinthians 11:14 It is natural knowledge that men who dress like women is a dishonor. The thing that has power to form feelings, behaviors, thoughts, and emotions makes a mockery of God by making men think and feel that they are women, and making women feel and think that they are men. People are compelled to live by the mark of the beast. “But if a woman has long hair, it is a glory to her; for her hair is given to her for a covering.” 1 Corinthians 11:15 Again, Paul associates the covering of a woman’s head as being the covering of her hair, and long hair is her glory.
Do not become embroiled over long hair or short hair. “But if anyone seems to be contentious, we have no such custom, nor do the churches of God.” 1 Corinthians 11:16 Today, people are very argumentative against followers of Christ who embrace the traditional roles of men and women. They detest the teachings of long hair being the glory of the woman and short hair on a man relating to the glory of God. Paul tells us not to argue about it with others. The important thing is to get past the contentions, argument, and fights and to continue sharing the Gospel, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16 The churches have discarded the Gospel and the traditional role of men and women as given by God are argued about, “Now in giving these instructions I do not praise you, since you come together not for the better but for the worse.” 1 Corinthians 11:17 The churches have become notorious in their support of the “democratic” values of the mark of the beast.
The churches are not gathering to fellowship in the Spirit of Christ. “For first of all, when you come together as a church, I hear that there are divisions among you, and in part I believe it.” 1 Corinthians 11:18 Today the congregations of the churches are filled with divisions that separate from God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. That’s because they have discarded the Gospel and have partnered with the “democratic” community of the mark of the beast. They do not separate themselves from the ways of the world to serve Jesus Christ. “For there must also be factions among you, that those who are approved may be recognized among you.” 1 Corinthians 11:19 It is easy to see that the churches have a group that makes themselves superior to others as they despise the teachings of the Bible, and it is easy to recognize those who hold to the testimony of Jesus.
The churches are not gathering in the name of Jesus, “Therefore when you come together in one place, it is not to eat the Lord’s Supper.” 1 Corinthians 11:20 Eating the Lord’s Supper together is to fellowship in the Spirit of Christ to remember the sacrifice He made to atone for sin. The churches are not doing that. “For in eating, each one takes his own supper ahead of others; and one is hungry and another is drunk.” 1 Corinthians 11:21 Instead of fellowship in the name of Jesus, they are there to indulge in their own fleshly desires while neglecting others. “What! Do you not have houses to eat and drink in? Or do you despise the church of God and shame those who have nothing? What shall I say to you? Shall I praise you in this? I do not praise you.” 1 Corinthians 11:22 Churches are not for the purpose of feeding the needs of the body, they are for the purpose of feeding the soul with the Gospel of Christ. The Church of God is despised by those who live for the mark of the beast and leaves people with nothing relating to the Spirit of Christ.
If fellowship in the churches is not in the Spirit of Christ, it puts to death Christ. “For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you: that the Lord Jesus on the same night in which He was betrayed took bread;” 1 Corinthians 11:23 On the same night that Jesus was having communion with His Apostles, He was betrayed. “…and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” 1 Corinthians 11:24 During the night of His betrayal, Jesus gave thanks to God for the bread, then He served it as a symbol of the sacrifice He would make on the Cross for the atonement of sin. “In the same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.” 1 Corinthians 11:25 The blood Jesus shed on the Cross replaces the laws of the Old Testament, and we should remember the sacrifice He made for us.
“For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death till He comes.” 1 Corinthians 11:26 For as often as we come together in the Spirit of Christ, we proclaim His sacrifice until He comes back. Today the gathering of the churches has betrayed the purpose of Christian fellowship. “Therefore whoever eats this bread or drinks this cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.” 1 Corinthians 11:27 Since the churches are not having communion in the Spirit of Christ, they are guilty of betraying and putting to death Jesus Christ.
“But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread and drink of the cup.” 1 Corinthians 11:28 We decide for ourselves whether we intend to have fellowship in the Spirit of Christ or if we contribute to the betrayal of Christ. “For he who eats and drinks in an unworthy manner eats and drinks judgment to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body.” 1 Corinthians 11:29 If we eat and drink in a way that mocks God, discards the teachings of Christ, and grieves the Holy Spirit then we are bringing the judgment of God upon ourselves. “For this reason many are weak and sick among you, and many sleep.” 1 Corinthians 11:30 Disregarding the Spirit of Christ in what we do makes us weak and sick in our walking with Jesus, and many die to Christ in the process. Many are dying to Christ in the churches today.
“For if we would judge ourselves, we would not be judged.” 1 Corinthians 11:31 We need to judge ourselves to make sure we are living in the Spirit of Christ to avoid condemnation. Condemnation sets up barriers to sharing the Gospel. “But when we are judged, we are chastened by the Lord, that we may not be condemned with the world.” 1 Corinthians 11:32 Just living for Jesus will bring condemnation from those who live by the mark of the beast, but the hand of the Lord is using that to discipline us to be sanctified in our responses and attitudes. “Therefore, my brethren, when you come together to eat, wait for one another.” 1 Corinthians 11:33 In the Spirit of Christ, we wait for everyone to be gathered together to have fellowship in the body of Christ. “But if anyone is hungry, let him eat at home, lest you come together for judgment. And the rest I will set in order when I come.” 1 Corinthians 11:34 Gathering together with one another is not about indulging in the fulfillment of the human body, it is not about food, drink, and social interaction, it is about fellowship in the Spirit of Christ.
“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,“
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
“I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25, 3:1
