Extraordinary speech skills are not necessary to share the Gospel of Christ. “And I, brethren, when I came to you, did not come with excellence of speech or of wisdom declaring to you the testimony of God.” 1 Corinthians 2:1 It’s not necessary to be full of knowledge, wisdom, nor eloquent words, when sharing the Gospel. “For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified.” 1 Corinthians 2:2 All we need to know is that Jesus died on the cross for the remission of sin and to give us eternal life. “I was with you in weakness, in fear, and in much trembling.” 1 Corinthians 2:3 God wants our humanness and humbleness which is totally opposite of this world. This world builds up self-esteem and despises the thought of being called sinners in need of Salvation.
This world encourages boldness and strength when living by the thing which forms thoughts, emotions, feelings, and behaviors. It enables the image of the beast to live and speak through them, and with their uncanny knowledge and heightened intuition, they are anything but humble in knowing things. Because they seem to know our thoughts and feelings, they blaspheme God, discard the need for Jesus Christ, and trample on the Holy Spirit. “They know!” “They see!” By what they say and do, they are conformed to their place in life. They are conformed to their mark in life as they are groomed to the mark of the beast.
As followers of Christ, we do not need uncanny knowledge and extraordinary skills of speech, “And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power,” 1 Corinthians 2:4 The message of the Cross is from the Spirit of God and the power of God. “…that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.” 1 Corinthians 2:5 Our faith is not in the thing that forms our words, thoughts, and emotions, our faith is in the power of God through the Cross of Jesus Christ.
God’s wisdom is different than the wisdom of this world. “However, we speak wisdom among those who are mature, yet not the wisdom of this age, nor of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing.'” 1 Corinthians 2:6 The wisdom spoken through the message of the Cross is not like the wisdom of this world at all. The wise people of this world are building the global “democratic” society of the beast by denying God, discarding the need for Jesus Christ, and trampling on the Holy Spirit. It is heading for tribulation and collapse in this world and eternal torment in the next.
“But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory,” 1 Corinthians 2:7 The mystery and hidden wisdom of God is to be able to see Jesus Christ in the Bible from Genesis through the New Testament. That is known as the “scarlet cord” which runs through the Holy Scriptures. “…which none of the rulers of this age knew; for had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.” 1 Corinthians 2:8 The Jewish rulers didn’t see the hidden mystery then, and they don’t recognize it today, the same as the Roman Empire didn’t see it then and the global government of the beast doesn’t see it today. If they were able to see Jesus Christ, they would not be crucifying Him.
The Holy Spirit reveals to us Believers the preparations Jesus made for us. “But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” 1 Corinthians 2:9 There is no human knowledge, feelings, thoughts, anything we hear or see that can picture what is prepared for us who follow Jesus Christ. The system of this world has no belief in anything beyond the grave and has no vision of the life to come. They serve humanism empowered by the thing which gives them what to think, feel, do, and speak.
As followers of Jesus Christ, we see the eternal preparations, “But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.” 1 Corinthians 2:10 The eternal things to come are not known by earthly knowledge and wisdom, they are known by the Spirit of God. The Holy Spirit in us is a token of the eternal blessings to come, and Jesus Christ gives us the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit searches all things, the deep things of God, including revealing those things to us through the Bible.
The hearts of people are known, but only the Holy Spirit knows the things of God. “For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God.” 1 Corinthians 2:11 The thing that has power over physiology knows all the thoughts, feelings, and emotions within us, and even creates them. It is a worldly human thing that knows all about what’s inside of humans, but it is of Satan to enable the image of the best to live and speak through people. What it doesn’t know are the things of God because it is not the Spirit of God, and no one knows the things of God except by the Spirit of God. “Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.” 1 Corinthians 2:12 We have received the Spirit who is from God, who is the Holy Spirit, and is given to us through Jesus Christ.
Spiritual things are compared to the spiritual, not to natural things. “These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.” 1 Corinthians 2:13 As followers of Jesus Christ, we do not follow the thoughts, feelings, emotions, and wisdom that is given according to human standards. Instead, we follow the Holy Spirit and see things through spiritual eyes and compare things to spiritual standards. For example, we do not equate wealth to spiritual wholeness, nor do we equate destitution to spiritual poverty. We equate a person’s spiritual wealth and poverty according to spiritual things in the Holy Spirit. “But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.” 1 Corinthians 2:14 Those who govern and live by the knowledge and wisdom of the beast will never receive the things of the Spirit of God because they live for the natural world. They discard the human spirit and the Spirit of God.
The remission of sin through Jesus Christ and eternal life are foolishness to the natural world, and they will never know the things of God because they can only be known through the Spirit. “But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one.” 1 Corinthians 2:15 We who live by the Spirit judges all things by the spiritual, but we are not rightly judged by those who use human standards to judge the Spirit.
“For “who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ.” 1 Corinthians 2:16 The followers of Christ can only be instructed by the Spirit of God because human instruction opposes the Holy Spirit. Likewise, no human being can second-guess God and instruct Him on the best course to take in the future. Even then, we have the Spirit of Christ and by the Holy Spirit we understand the future course which God has determined for this world. We are able to instruct those living for the natural world on the future course that they should be taking. Jesus Christ is the future course we all must follow.
“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,“
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
“I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25, 3:11
