When We are Socially Abandoned, Call on the Name of Jesus Christ

Luke 17:11-19

  • When we feel abandoned or isolated from society, call on the name of Jesus.
  • Follow the Gospel and glorify the name of Jesus.
  • Praising Jesus is more important than physical healings.

When we feel abandoned or isolated from society, call on the name of Jesus. “Now it happened as He went to Jerusalem that He passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee.” Luke 17:11 The Jews did not associate with the Samaritans, and Jesus was from Nazareth (a city within Galilee) which had the reputation that nothing good could come from there. By passing through those places, Jesus was meeting people who were tossed aside. “Then as He entered a certain village, there met Him ten men who were lepers, who stood afar off.” Luke 17:12 Lepers carried a very contagious disease, so it was common courtesy that they would keep their distance from everybody. Today, people who reject the mark of the beast have forfeited their place within society. We are treated like we have some type of disease, and really the Gospel of Christ is a disease to them because we don’t live by the thoughts, emotions, feelings, and behaviors imposed on us by the thing that has power over physiology. “And they lifted up their voices and said, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!” Luke 17:13 Jesus Christ is the only one we can turn to for receiving any type of compassion or mercy, and we cry out, “Jesus have mercy on us!”

Follow the Gospel and glorify the name of Jesus. “So when He saw them, He said to them, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And so it was that as they went, they were cleansed.” Luke 17:14 Jesus didn’t ask them to dip in a river for healing, nor did He lay His hands on them, nor did He speak any words such as “Be healed!” or “Your faith has made you well”. He simply told them to show themselves to the priests, so as far as the lepers knew, they were going to show their diseased body to the priests. But as they started walking towards the priest, they were healed. That is the only faith that Jesus requires of us, to follow His word. Today, following his word means to come to God by the remission of sin through Jesus, and to lift up His name. “And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, returned, and with a loud voice glorified God, and fell down on his face at His feet, giving Him thanks. And he was a Samaritan.” Luke 17:15-16 It’s a wonderful thing when people from different boundaries in life can come together to give praise and thanks to Jesus. Today, the mark of the beast is designed to keep that from happening, each person has their station in life. It is designed to reject God, to discard the need for Jesus, and to trample on the Holy Spirit.

Praising Jesus is more important than physical healings. “So Jesus answered and said, “Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine?” Luke 17:17 Today, people want the healings without glorifying and giving thanks to Jesus, instead they follow the beast for those healings, “And I saw one of his heads as if it had been mortally wounded, and his deadly wound was healed. And all the world marveled and followed the beast.” Revelation 13:3 Those who govern by the mark of the beast consider those who give glory to Jesus Christ to be foreigners to their social network, “Were there not any found who returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?” Luke 17:18 It’s not the praise for healings that Godis looking for, He is looking for the faith that leads us to praise and glorify His Son Jesus Christ. That is the faith which makes us well, “And He said to him, “Arise, go your way. Your faith has made you well.” Luke 17:19

“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,“
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
“I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25, 3:11
