Israel is the daughter of her mother and worse than her sisters.
Like mother like daughter. “Indeed everyone who quotes proverbs will use this proverb against you: ‘Like mother, like daughter! You are your mother’s daughter, loathing husband and children; and you are the sister of your sisters, who loathed their husbands and children; your mother was a Hittite and your father an Amorite.’” Ezekiel 17:44-45
This phrase is very familiar to most of us, “Like mother, like daughter!” That simply means that a daughter’s character or behavior can be expected to be the same as that of her mother. Ezekiel is saying to the Israelites that they are just like the detestable mother of their origin.
Who is the mother of Israel? Before the Israelites even existed as the Israelites, they were born in this world through the womb of the Hittites with a father of the Amorites. God describes the Israelites as being a baby thrown into a field with the umbilical cord still attached. They had no chance of survival in this world on their own. The Jewish people have an unflattering origin. The Hittites and Amorites were far, far from the will of God and the Israelites had become just like her mother the Hittites. Israel was like all of her sisters born of the Hittites and Amorites.
Who are the sisters of Israel from long, long ago? The origins of the land of the Hittites and Amorites would include offspring born in the modern-day territory that covers parts of Israel, Palestine, Jordan, Lebanon, and Syria. They are overwhelmingly Muslim with no belief in the God of Jesus Christ who gives us the Holy Spirit.
Today, the Israelis are just like their Muslim sisters in that they loathe their husband and children. Their husband is supposed to be Jesus Christ and their children are supposed to be brought up as Christian and not Jewish. The Jewish culture have tossed aside the entire New Testament, which is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. By doing that, they express loathing to the will of God for them to acknowledge Jesus Christ as their Savior. In that way, they are just like their Muslim sisters. Also, the Israelis show a loathing for their children as they have the most liberal abortion rights in the world.
Today, the entity with power over physiology, that is able to give people what to think, say, do, and say, loathe husbands and children. This entity loathes husbands because it insists on being the head of the household by enabling the image of the beast to speak and live through family members. This entity loathes children as the right to kill the unborn is part of the global agenda for every female. The thrust to exalt women in places of authority goes hand-in-hand with on-demand abortions. The masses of the global culture demonstrate, protest, and riot for those “rights” as they are groomed to the mark of the beast by what they say and do.
Sisters of Israel are disreputable, and she is worse. “Your elder sister is Samaria, who dwells with her daughters to the north of you; and your younger sister, who dwells to the south of you, is Sodom and her daughters. You did not walk in their ways nor act according to their abominations; but, as if that were too little, you became more corrupt than they in all your ways. As I live,” says the Lord God, “neither your sister Sodom nor her daughters have done as you and your daughters have done.” Ezekiel 16:46-48
The Israelites were likened to their sisters of Samaria and Sodom. Beginning in the Old Testament, the Samaritans were “blackballed” by the Israelites and considered to be in the same category as the Gentiles, abandoned by God. That carried over into the days when Jesus Christ was walking on this earth, as quoted, “Then the woman of Samaria said to [Jesus], “How is it that You, being a Jew, ask a drink from me, a Samaritan woman?” For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.” John 4:9 Also, most of us know how notoriously sinful Sodom was, Genesis 18:16-33 and Genesis 19.
Today, we see that the State of Israel has not adopted the Muslim religion as their own. Muslims are the overwhelming majority to the north and south of Israel, and everywhere else in the Middle East. Although Israel does not walk in the way of the Muslims, they are more corrupt than they. The Israelis are more corrupt because they knew the word of God through the Ten Commandments but rebelled against God’s word. They are more corrupt because Jesus Christ first came to them, and they rejected Him and plotted to have Him killed. “What advantage then has the Jew, or what is the profit of circumcision? Much in every way! Chiefly because to them were committed the oracles of God.” Romans 3:1-2 Even in the Old Testament, the Israelites were circumcised [cut off] from the world around them through the word of God, until they turned away from God.
Today, the Israelis know better than to rebel against God, but they have because they rejected Jesus Christ whom God sent to them. They know better than the Muslims all around them, but they refuse to do according to the will of God. “Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.” James 4:17 As I live,” says the Lord God, “neither your sister Sodom nor her daughters have done as you and your daughters have done.”
The Holy Spirit reminds us, as followers of Jesus Christ, what our life without Him was, “Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.” 1 Corinthians 6:9-11
The sin of Israel is worse than those of her sisters who she judges.
Sin of pride, greed, idleness, and neglect of the needy. “Look, this was the iniquity of your sister Sodom: She and her daughter had pride, fullness of food, and abundance of idleness; neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy. And they were haughty and committed abomination before Me; therefore I took them away as I saw fit.” Ezekiel 16:49-50
God is comparing Israel to her Muslim sisters of the Middle East who are far from Him and do not live by His word, discards the need for Jesus Christ, and oppresses the presence of the Holy Spirit.
The Jewish people are filled with pride. 2000 years ago, they were so proud of the wholeness of their Jewish culture that they refused to humble themselves to receive Jesus Christ as their Savior. They valued their Jewish family more than becoming the family of God through Jesus Christ. If they would have become Christian, the Jewish State of Israel would never have existed. As Christians, we do not have a nation on this earth to call our own, our nation is the New Jerusalem in the new heaven and earth.
Because of the haughtiness and spiritual wickedness of Israel, they are being taken away as God sees fit, and that is why God has gathered the Jewish people to the State of Israel in 1948. There, God unleashes His judgment on them, “Therefore thus says the Lord God: ‘Because you have all become dross, therefore behold, I will gather you into the midst of Jerusalem. As men gather silver, bronze, iron, lead, and tin into the midst of a furnace, to blow fire on it, to melt it; so I will gather you in My anger and in My fury, and I will leave you there and melt you.” Ezekiel 16:19-20
The Jewish culture was filled with the fulness of food, but with that they had an abundance of idleness and does not strengthen the poor. Before Jesus Christ, the Israelites were the only people in this world with the word of God, which includes the “scarlet cord” pointing to Jesus Christ as the Savior of the world, and the Ten Commandments. The Jewish culture became filled with idleness in their faithfulness to the will of God and in that idleness, they could not comprehend Jesus Christ being their Messiah. Today, the Jewish people are not being nourished and strengthened through Jesus Christ who gives the Holy Spirit. The Jewish culture has thrown out the entire New Testament, which is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. They only live by the Old Testament.
The culture we live in today is filled with pride as they live for the entity with power over physiology that gives them what to think, feel, say, and do. They boast, “Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?” Revelation 13:4 Today’s culture is filled with physiological food as the entity they serve feeds them as it enables the image of the beast to speak and live through them. However, there is global idleness and the poor and needy are not being strengthen who seeks food for the spirit and soul through Jesus Christ. The masses of the global culture are groomed to the mark of the beast by what they say and do.
Today’s world system will be taken away as God sees fit, and that will happen through global tribulation and the Day of the Lord. We already see lobal warming in the world and global warming is the Fourth Plague of Revelation 16:8-9. The stronger the United Nations become as the one world government the more intense the effect of global warming becomes. Global warming is instrumental in bringing the destruction of the power center of the beast in the Fifth Plague of Revelation 16:10-11. Without the power center of the beast, the world government and its global culture are rendered powerless. In that powerlessness, comes the Battle of Armageddon in the Sixth Plague of Revelation 16:12-17. After that, comes the Day of the Lord and the return of Jesus Christ. Click here for a post on the Seven Plagues.
Israel’s abominations justify her disreputable sisters. “Samaria did not commit half of your sins; but you have multiplied your abominations more than they, and have justified your sisters by all the abominations which you have done. You who judged your sisters, bear your own shame also, because the sins which you committed were more abominable than theirs; they are more righteous than you. Yes, be disgraced also, and bear your own shame, because you justified your sisters.” Ezekiel 16:51-52
In the eyes of God, sin is something that separates people from Him, exalts their own will above the need to receive Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sin, and engaging in behaviors that oppress the presence of the Holy Spirit. The Israelis are doing worse than the Muslim population around them because they purposely turn away from the will of God for them to receive Jesus Christ and to live in the Holy Spirit. “Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.” James 4:17 The Israelis have the most liberal abortion rights in the world, and they welcome the promotion of the LGBQT lifestyles. Those behaviors suppress the appearing of the Holy Spirit, prohibit the forgiveness of sin through Jesus Christ, and fosters atheism in their disbelief in God.
I’ve often heard people say, “If they are the people of God then I’m a saint”, or “That person makes Godzilla look like an angel”. In that light, the rebellion of the Jewish people against God makes the behavior of the Muslim population around them seem justified. In worldly terms, we see how the Israelis look very, very ugly today. Because of their war and progressive police action, they have made themselves to be the enemy of peace and security in the Middle East region. In fact, the Muslim population all around Israel is considered to be righteous in the eyes of the members of the United Nations and their global culture. This relates to the “Two State Solution” as the government of Israel rejects it but the Muslims all around applaud it.
When we judge somebody, that closes a lot of doors leading to peace within ourselves and often leads to bitterness, anger, and vengeance against another person. Judgment causes us to bear our own shame because the mercy of the Holy Spirit is suppressed when speaking ill of others. We need to desire to carry our cross to copy the mercy of Jesus Christ who was crucified on the Cross to atone for the sin of every single person in this world. “For judgment is without mercy to the one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.” James 2:13
Jesus Christ says to us, “Judge not, that you be not judged. For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you. And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove the speck from your eye’; and look, a plank is in your own eye? Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.” Matthew 7:1-5
God wants us to return to Him through Jesus Christ.
God brings back the captives of sin through Jesus Christ. “When I bring back their captives, the captives of Sodom and her daughters, and the captives of Samaria and her daughters, then I will also bring back the captives of your captivity among them, that you may bear your own shame and be disgraced by all that you did when you comforted them.” Ezekiel 16:53-54
Sodom and Samaria were captives to the king of Babylon, Nebuchadnezzar, the same as what the Israelites were. After seventy years in captivity, they were all freed, and the Israelites were not distinguished from Sodom and Samaria. They were all released as one group of people. This brought shame to the Israelites who thought that they were so much different, better, and sinless than those around them. They would never have believed that the people of Sodom and Samaria would be released with them as a package deal. Those of Samaria and Sodom felt comfort with themselves because the Israelites were so much more corrupt than what they were. They felt they must not be so bad, especially after being released with the Israelites as one bunch of people.
When Jesus Christ walked on this earth, His only purpose was to atone for sin to free from captivity to sin whoever believes in Him, “For when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness. What fruit did you have then in the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death. But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life.” Romans 6:20-22
The Jewish people rejected Jesus Christ 2000 years ago, and even today they have nothing to do with the New Testament, which is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. They only live by the Old Testament. The Jewish people bear their shame because God does not see them any differently than what He sees all people, Today, we see how God makes us acceptable to Him. The Law and the Prophets tell how we become acceptable, and it isn’t by obeying the Law of Moses. God treats everyone alike. He accepts us only because we have faith in Jesus Christ. All of us have sinned and fallen short of God’s glory. Romans 3:21-23
In the eyes of God, all of humanity is one package deal when it comes to the forgiveness of sin through Jesus Christ. The Jewish people are not seen any differently than anyone else, “For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.” Galatians 3:26-29
“He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” John 1:11-13
God redeems us with an eternal body through Jesus Christ. “When your sisters, Sodom and her daughters, return to their former state, and Samaria and her daughters return to their former state, then you and your daughters will return to your former state.” Ezekiel 16:55
In the previous verse, we read where Sodom, Samaria, and Israel will all be in the same “boat” relating to their release from captivity to the Babylonian king, Nebuchadnezzar. After their release, they all returned to their worldly freedom. This represents every person in this world, Jewish or non-Jewish, who are freed from captivity to sin and inherit eternal life. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
Through Jesus Christ, we return to the former sinless state of God’s creation, like that of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden before their fall. That happens when we are resurrected from the grave with a new eternal body, “So also is the resurrection of the dead. The body is sown in corruption, it is raised in incorruption. It is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory. It is sown in weakness, it is raised in power. It is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body.” 1 Corinthians 15:42-44 A spiritual body does not mean ghosts, as our Lord Jesus showed, “But they were terrified and frightened, and supposed they had seen a ghost. And He said to them, “Why are you troubled? And why do doubts arise in your hearts? Behold My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself. Handle Me and see, for a ghost does not have flesh and bones as you see I have.” Luke 24:37-39 This is also described in Ezekiel 37:1-14.
Judgment comes to Israel through Jesus Christ.
The arrogance of Israel and the countries that despise her. “For your sister Sodom was not a byword in your mouth in the days of your pride, before your wickedness was uncovered. As at the time of the reproach of the daughters of Syria and all those around her, and of the daughters of the Philistines, who despise you everywhere.” Ezekiel 16:56-57
Nowadays, we think of a “byword” as being a description of something notorious. In the pride and wickedness of the Israelites, not a word was spoken against Sodom nor against the spiritual wickedness all around them. The Israelites were far from God, and the Ten Commandments were no longer their moral guide to be able to separate their own behavior from those around them. In fact, the Israelites became worse than Sodom, Syria, Philistia etc. The Israelites were not able to use the wickedness around them as an example of what not to be. Before the wickedness of Israel was uncovered, the Syrians and all those around Israel were disapproved of by the Israelites.
Today, the Israelis of the State of Israel are living in that same circumstance. Their pride is their Jewish culture as they refused to humble themselves to serve Jesus Christ. They live in their spiritual wickedness since turning away from the will of God for them to accept Jesus as their Savior. They are not able to rightfully criticize those of the Gaza Strip, West Bank, Syria, Iran, Lebanon, etc. since they are worse than their neighbors. The Israelis are not able to speak of the need to live in the will of God, nor to speak of the need for the forgiveness of sin through Jesus Christ, nor to speak of the infilling of the Holy Spirit.
There was a time, before the rejection of Jesus Christ, when the Jewish people were the standard bearers of God’s word to the world around them. Through them came the Ten Commandments, thousands of years ago. Not anymore and the fury of God’s judgment is against them. Today, the Jewish people are despised by Syria, the Gaza Strip, Iran, and quite frankly everywhere around the world. Even here in America, the Jewish people are hated, with riots and protests against them on American streets and in American universities.
Before the wickedness of the Jewish people in rejecting Jesus Christ, there were many Israelites who were faithful to God. The Holy Spirit gives us examples of Israelites who believed God and changed the world by their faith. A list of their world-changing faith is found in Hebrews 11. As followers of Jesus Christ, we must be among those “…choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin, esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt; for he looked to the reward.” Hebrews 11:25-26
Israel must suffer the wrath of God’s judgment. “You must pay for all the vulgar and disgusting things you have done. I, the Lord, have spoken.” Ezekiel 16:58
Every vulgar and disgusting thing that the Jewish people has ever done is a result of turning away from God by rejecting Jesus Christ as their Savior resulting in the oppression of the Holy Spirit. They put their Jewish culture above living for Jesus Christ. As a result, the fury of God’s judgment has come against them and will continue to come against them. The Jewish people were gathered to the State of Israel as the place where He unleashes His fury on them, in the eyes of the whole world, as quoted, “Therefore thus says the Lord God: ‘Because you have all become dross, therefore behold, I will gather you into the midst of Jerusalem. As men gather silver, bronze, iron, lead, and tin into the midst of a furnace, to blow fire on it, to melt it; so I will gather you in My anger and in My fury, and I will leave you there and melt you.” Ezekiel 22:19-20
2000 years ago, if the Jewish people would have humbled themselves to be Christian, then the Jewish culture and nation would not exist today. As Christians, we do not have a nation on this earth to call our own, our nation is the New Jerusalem in the new heaven and earth.
The world government and its global culture is founded on profaning God by discarding the need for Jesus Christ and oppressing the Holy Spirit. In place of the human spirit and conscience, they live by the entity that gives them what to feel think, say, and do. They harden the spirit against Jesus to enable the image of the beast to live and speak through people. People everywhere are groomed to the mark of the beast by what they say and do. God says to them like He says to Israel, “You must pay for all the vulgar and disgusting things you have done. I, the Lord, have spoken.”
We already see the payments of God’s fury being made in the appearing of global warming, which is the Fourth Plague in Revelation 16:8-9. The stronger the United Nations become as the one world government, the stronger and more intense global warming becomes. Global warming is instrumental in the destruction of the power center of the beast in in the Fifth Plague in Revelation 16:10-11. When that happens, the world government of the beast and its global culture will be rendered powerless. They will have no more uncanny knowledge, heightened intuition, extraordinary talents and skills, amazing physical abilities, uncanny authority, etc. In that powerlessness, comes the Battle of Armageddon as the Sixth Plague in Revelation 16:12-17. Then comes the Day of the Lord and the return of Jesus Christ.
Israel breaks the first covenant and a New Covenant is made. “For thus says the Lord God: “I will deal with you as you have done, who despised the oath by breaking the covenant. Nevertheless I will remember My covenant with you in the days of your youth, and I will establish an everlasting covenant with you.” Ezekiel 16:59-60
This verse is talking about two covenants made with the Jewish people, the one in the Old Testament and the other is the eternal covenant through Jesus Christ. God is going to deal with the Jewish people according to what they have done, which is to violate the promise made to God resulting in breaking the Old Testament covenant. For example, the Jewish people do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as having any importance to them. They have tossed aside the entire New Testament which is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. They only live by the Old Testament. Even then, they have broken the covenant made with God in the Old Testament book of Exodus and God is dealing with them accordingly. The Old Testament covenant is this,
“This is the covenant created by God, “Now therefore, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be a special treasure to Me above all people; for all the earth is Mine. And you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’ These are the words which you shall speak to the children of Israel.” This is the oath the Israelites made to God. So Moses came and called for the elders of the people, and laid before them all these words which the Lord commanded him. Then all the people answered together and said, “All that the Lord has spoken we will do.” So Moses brought back the words of the people to the Lord.” Exodus 19:5-8
The masses of the Jewish culture have broken the covenant made with God in the Old Testament and they no longer obey the voice of God. Therefore, they are no longer His special treasure, they are no longer a kingdom of priests, and no longer a Holy nation.
Even though the Jewish people have not kept the first covenant of the Old Testament, God still remembers that covenant and has given the Jewish people of today a second chance. The New Covenant no longer has lengthy legal requirements of necessary animal sacrifices to be made, what to eat and not to eat, etc. The new covenant is simply to believe Jesus Christ, who infills with the Holy Spirit and makes us right with God. As Jesus has said, “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30
This is the New Covenant, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:169 Through Jesus Christ, we are God’s royal priesthood, His special people, a Holy nation, “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.” 1 Peter 2:9-10
God establishes the covenant of eternal life through Jesus Christ.
Repentance includes putting down conflict and picking up the Gospel of peace. “Then you will remember your ways and be ashamed, when you receive your older and your younger sisters; for I will give them to you for daughters, but not because of My covenant with you.” Ezekiel 16:61
The older and younger sisters of the Israelites were countries consisting of Sodom and Samaria, both considered to be far from the will of God. They were called Gentiles because they did not live by the word of God, were not circumcised, did not eat kosher food, and knew nothing about the Ten Commandments. When Jesus Christ walked on this earth, the Jewish people continued to call all non-Jewish people uncircumcised Gentiles. However, our Lord Jesus made each person part of the family of God, all non-Jewish Gentiles were received by Him as daughters and sons of Israel, as quoted, “For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly, nor is circumcision that which is outward in the flesh: but he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the Spirit, not in the letter: whose praise is not from men but from God.” Romans 2:28-29
God made the uncircumcised Gentiles [all non-Jewish people] to be part of the family of God, to be part of the house of Israel, but not according to the covenant that God made exclusively with the Israelites. The covenant God made with the Israelites was that if they followed His word, they would be a special treasure to Him above all other people, above all the non-Jewish Gentiles, and be a kingdom of priests and a Holy nation, as quoted,
“This is the covenant created by God, “Now therefore, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be a special treasure to Me above all people; for all the earth is Mine.
The Jewish people have lost all the promises made in the verse above because they did not obey the voice of God for them to receive Jesus Christ as their Savior. They broke the covenant made with them and are no longer God’s exclusive special treasure, nor are they the priests of His Kingdom, nor are they a Holy nation.
The uncircumcised Gentiles, who are all non-Jewish people, were made daughters of Israel but not according to the covenant God made with the Israelites. In other words, it’s not necessary to be obedient to the laws of the Old Testament to be right with God, not necessary to be circumcised, not necessary to eat kosher food, and not necessary to be Jewish etc. As quoted, “For they are not all Israel who are of Israel, nor are they all children because they are the seed of Abraham; but “In Isaac your seed shall be called…And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.” Romans 9:6-7 and Galatians 3:29
Today, everyone who lives for God through Jesus Christ and welcomes the presence of the Holy Spirit are His own special people, a royal priesthood, a Holy nation, as quoted, “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.” 1 Peter 2:9-10
As followers of Jesus Christ, we are not made daughters with the house of Israel through the covenant made with the Israelites in the Old Testament, we are made part of the family of God through the New Covenant made through Jesus Christ, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
The covenant of Christ is activated through repentance. “And I will establish My covenant with you. Then you shall know that I am the Lord, that you may remember and be ashamed, and never open your mouth anymore because of your shame, when I provide you an atonement for all you have done,” says the Lord God.’” Ezekiel 16:62-63
The phrase, “And I will establish My covenant with you” refers to establishing the New Covenant through Jesus Christ, making the covenant created through the laws of the Old Testament obsolete, “By calling this covenant “new,” He has made the first one obsolete…” Hebrews 8:13 Jesus Christ said this, “The law and the prophets were until John. Since that time the kingdom of God has been preached, and everyone is pressing into it.” Luke 16:16 This is also said in this way, “God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things…” Hebrews 1:1-2
The most important part of the New Covenant is the ability to feel shame, guilt, and remorse to be able to come to Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sin, “Now I rejoice, not that you were made sorry, but that your sorrow led to repentance. For you were made sorry in a godly manner, that you might suffer loss from us in nothing. For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death.” 2 Corinthians 7:9-10
Instead of opening our mouth revealing the shame of sin that lies in our heart, through repentance we open our mouth to confess that Jesus Christ is Lord because in our heart we believe that He is risen from the dead, “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Romans 10:8-10
Every one of us have sin and fall short of the glory of God, and for all that we have done, God still provides atonement for our sin by the sacrifice Jesus Christ made on the altar of the Cross. This is the New Covenant, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.” John 3:16-17
“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,“
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
“I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25, 3:11
