Scrutiny comes from people who have no focus on the Spirit of Christ. “And as He spoke, a certain Pharisee asked Him to dine with him.” Luke 11:37 Being invited to dinner by a Pharisee is like being invited to dinner by someone who spends the whole dinner hour scrutinizing the guest. The scrutinizing started just as soon as Jesus sat down, “So He went in and sat down to eat. When the Pharisee saw it, he marveled that He had not first washed before dinner.” Luke 11:38 Jesus knew the hearts of the Pharisees were filthy, so for Him to sit down without washing is a small thing compared to what they do. People are very good at criticizing others but not thinking about their own inward inhumanities. Those who live by the mark of the beast scrutinizes everyone else but whitewashes the fact they pollute the Holy Spirit and declare that they have no need to be washed of sin. “Then the Lord said to him, “Now you Pharisees make the outside of the cup and dish clean, but your inward part is full of greed and wickedness.” Luke 11:39 That describes our society of today because outward expressions of words and appearances are what is focused on. They talk about love, support, democracy, etc. but the foundation of their existence relates to money, possessions, and physical comforts. It’s obvious that their economic development and global economy is much more important than their what they say with churchy sounding words. They live by humanism empowered by the mark of the beast.
God made our insides to be filled with the Holy Spirit. “Foolish ones! Did not He who made the outside make the inside also?” Luke 11:40 God not only made this world, but He has made our insides to be the home of the Holy Spirit. This present system of government wants to make our insides the seat of government for the mark of the beast. Everything we have should be according to our service to Jesus Christ, in keeping with devoting our mind and heart to inward cleanliness, as Jesus says, “But rather give alms of such things as you have; then indeed all things are clean to you.” Luke 11:41 Society is very good at encouraging community giving, and every other type of love and support for the community-family, but they are killing the love and sense of justice within individual hearts. Like Jesus says, “But woe to you Pharisees! For you tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass by justice and the love of God. These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone.” Luke 11:42
People want recognition and acceptance more than they want God. “Woe to you Pharisees! For you love the best seats in the synagogues and greetings in the marketplaces.” Luke 11:43 That describes our present society of the mark of the beast which thrives on honors, recognition, prestigious badges of esteem, and social acceptance. All of those things are for external deeds and has nothing to do with the insides of a person. “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like graves which are not seen, and the men who walk over them are not aware of them.” Luke 11:44 People seem friendly with smiling faces and neat and clean clothing, but that doesn’t match what is in their heart and mind. We used to have a saying, “If it was a snake, it would have bit you,” which means we stumbled into something unknowingly. The thing that has power over physiology is able to form thoughts, emotions, and behaviors to make a person seem Godly, but they are an inner grave. They are the snakes that we stumble across without realizing the depth of their deadliness. They are dead to Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit.
Procedures are designed to build tombs inside of people. Lawyers are not exempt from the Word of God, although they would like to think that they are, “Then one of the lawyers answered and said to Him, “Teacher, by saying these things You reproach us also.” Luke 11:45 Jesus added a few words for the lawyers also, “And He said, “Woe to you also, lawyers! For you load men with burdens hard to bear, and you yourselves do not touch the burdens with one of your fingers.” Luke 11:46 Those “lawyers” are anyone who has the authority to use policies and rules to govern people. It includes workplaces procedures, school policies, doctor orders, housing managers, parental authority, government laws, etc. They can make life very burdensome, but they don’t live by the same rules they make for others. That is exactly how those who govern by the mark of the beast operate, and the followers of Jesus Christ are in the crosshairs of their burdens. Jesus tells us why they are doing that, “Woe to you! For you build the tombs of the prophets, and your fathers killed them.” Luke 11:47 They want to make us dead to God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit so that they can govern over our thoughts, feelings, emotions, and behaviors. Jesus again says, “In fact, you bear witness that you approve the deeds of your fathers; for they indeed killed them, and you build their tombs.” Luke 11:48
Judgment is coming for those who impede fellowship with God. Today, the Gospel of Jesus Christ has been killed in the churches, throughout the broad way of mainstream society, and it is that way globally. Likewise, there is very little support remaining for the nation of Israel, but that support still exists in the followers of Jesus Christ. God loved us enough to send the Prophets and Apostles to us knowing the persecution they would suffer, “Therefore the wisdom of God also said, ‘I will send them prophets and apostles, and some of them they will kill and persecute,’” Luke 11:49 The blood that has been shed of the people of God will have to be answered for by those of this generation, “…that the blood of all the prophets which was shed from the foundation of the world may be required of this generation…” Luke 11:50 By not preaching and teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ, this generation of the mark of the beast have shed the blood of Abel and Zechariah, “…from the blood of Abel to the blood of Zechariah who perished between the altar and the temple. Yes, I say to you, it shall be required of this generation.” Luke 11:51 Cain killed Abel because God favored Abel, just like those who govern by the mark of the beast are sweeping the people of God under the rug. Zechariah was killed between the altar and the temple, which is like being killed in the lobby of a church. Those who govern by the mark of the beast do not want us to enter the temple of God where our body is the home of the Holy Spirit.
This world anticipates every opportunity to put down Christianity. “Woe to you lawyers! For you have taken away the key of knowledge. You did not enter in yourselves, and those who were entering in you hindered.” Luke 11:52 Those who have power over physiology intrude upon thoughts that give knowledge of God’s plan for us through Jesus Christ. They have also taken away the knowledge of the Holy Scriptures from mainstream society and from the churches. The words which Jesus speaks against them arouses their anger and is why the generation of today want Him gone from their world, “And as He said these things to them, the scribes and the Pharisees began to assail Him vehemently, and to cross-examine Him about many things…” Luke 11:53 Around every corner in the society of the mark of the beast is opposition against the teachings of Jesus Christ, and they anticipate every opportunity to put down Christianity, “…lying in wait for Him, and seeking to catch Him in something He might say, that they might accuse Him.” Luke 11:54
“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,“
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
“I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25, 3:11
