- The sign of the resurrection of Jesus is the only sign this generation will have.
- The word of God and testimony of Jesus Christ is the sign given to us.
- We who believe the word of God rise in judgment against the unbelievers.
The sign of the resurrection of Jesus is the only sign this generation will have. Jesus favors the faithful few who gather in His name through the Holy Spirit, or the faithful few who are not able to gather together but still live in the presence of the Holy Spirit. In this generation, the people have chosen to live by the mark of the beast in every city around the world, “And while the crowds were thickly gathered together, He began to say, “This is an evil generation. It seeks a sign, and no sign will be given to it except the sign of Jonah the prophet.” Luke 11:29 The sign of Jonah, which is the one that Jesus gave to the people back then, is the same one that is given to us today. Jonah is a sign of the resurrection, being in the belly of the whale for three days and nights, and then coming from that to preach the Word pf God to the people of Nineveh. That is the only sign that this generation will be given. It’s a sign of the resurrection of Jesus Christ and each of His followers share His Gospel, which is this, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
The thing that has power over physiology thrives on showing many types of signs and wonders. It shows off the power of healing, power over external elements, power to form thoughts, emotions, feelings, behaviors, etc. “It performs great signs, so that it even makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men. And it deceives those who dwell on the earth by those signs…” Revelation 13:13-14 However, the only sign that God is giving this evil generation is the sign of the resurrection of Jesus, and the continued sharing of His Gospel. Because He lives, I live also.
The word of God and testimony of Jesus Christ is the sign given to us. Jesus Christ became a sign that the kingdom of God has come to us, and it is necessary to be reconciled to God through Him by the remission of sin. Jonah became a sign by preaching the word of God to the Ninevites, just like Jesus who brought the word of God to us by being the word of God in the flesh. Likewise, we are a sign to this generation of the mark of the beast by devoting our body as the home of the Holy Spirit and lifting up the name of Jesus, “For as Jonah became a sign to the Ninevites, so also the Son of Man will be to this generation.” Luke 11:30
We who believe the word of God rise in judgment against the unbelievers. The queen of the South (Queen Sheba) heard a lot of unbelievable things about Solomon and traveled a very long distance to hear for herself (1 Kings 10:1-13) When she left, she acknowledged that everything said about him was true, although she was not Jewish, nor did she serve the God of Israel. Jesus Christ is greater than even Solomon, and those who should be acknowledging Him as the Messiah do not, and those considered to be unclean pagans or Gentiles do acknowledge Him as Lord and Savior. “The queen of the South will rise up in the judgment with the men of this generation and condemn them, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and indeed a greater than Solomon is here.” Luke 11:31
As non-Jewish Christians, we will rise up in judgment against the unbelieving Jews. In the same way, the followers of Jesus Christ rise up in judgment against this generation who lives by the mark of the beast. The men of Nineveh, who repented at hearing the word of God from Jonah, will also rise up in judgment against those of this generation. “The men of Nineveh will rise up in the judgment with this generation and condemn it, for they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and indeed a greater than Jonah is here.” Luke 11:32
“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,“
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
“I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25, 3:11
