Sharing the Gospel of Christ as Lambs in a World of Wolves

Luke 10:1-16

• Walk away from those who reject Christ, their judgment is coming.

There is a global need for people to share the Gospel of Christ. “After these things the Lord appointed seventy others also, and sent them two by two before His face into every city and place where He Himself was about to go.” Luke 10:1 Jesus Christ is about to come back, and we are sent to share His Gospel. The Gospel message is this, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16 Anyone can look around and see how needy the world is for the remission of sin. Violence, substance abuse, homelessness, border crisis around the world, etc. plagues cities around the nation and around the globe, “Then He said to them, “The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.” Luke 10:2 Today, the laborers are few because we live in a world that despises the teachings of the Bible, and the churches have discarded the need for the atonement of sin through Jesus Christ. Christianity has been subdued by the global government of the mark of the beast. Even then, we know God hears the intercession that Jesus is making for more laborers to share His testimony. I am doing what I can, and I know there will always be a faithful few who hold to the testimony of Jesus. Those faithful few will sprout up until the very end of the earth, which means laborers will always be productive.

A war has been waged against God, Jesus Christ, and Holy Spirit. Today, we live under the government of the mark of the beast who has waged war against the Gospel and the followers of Christ. The laborers for the harvest of souls have been impeded for three reasons, 1) “It was granted to it to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And authority was given it over every tribe, tongue, and nation. All who dwell on the earth will worship it, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.” Revelation 13:7-8 (The mark of the beast is making war with the people of God.) and 2) “For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way. And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming.” 2 Thessalonians 2:7-8 (The Holy Spirit is the One who restrains) and 3) “Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, it opposes and exalts itself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that it sits in the temple of God, showing itself that it is God.” 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4 We are the temple of God and the thing that has power over physiology wants to make us the seat of government for the mark of the beast. It does that by the power it has to form thoughts, emotions, feelings, and behaviors.

Be non-imposing with the Gospel and remain in a peaceful and receptive place. Jesus Christ understands how ruthless the society of the mark of the beast is against the spread of His testimony, “Go your way; behold, I send you out as lambs among wolves.” Luke 10:3 The social network of the wolves is built on possessions, money, and physical comforts, while those who are rejected by them are deprived of those things. It is a system of humanism governed by the mark of the beast, and the followers of Christ are not part of their prosperity. Jesus says to us, “Carry neither money bag, knapsack, nor sandals; and greet no one along the road.” Luke 10:4 We are not to impose the Gospel on anyone but allow the Holy Spirit to make connections for us, “But whatever house you enter, first say, ‘Peace to this house.’ And if a son of peace is there, your peace will rest on it; if not, it will return to you.” Luke 10:5-6 If we find a place that welcomes the followers of Jesus, then stay in that house and be thankful for whatever is given to eat and drink. Stay in that welcoming place and don’t look for anywhere else to stay, “And remain in the same house, eating and drinking such things as they give, for the laborer is worthy of his wages. Do not go from house to house. Whatever city you enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you.”” Like 10:7-8 In those peaceful and receptive places Jesus says, “And heal the sick there, and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’” Luke 10:9 Share with them the healing message of John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

Walk away from those who reject Christ, their judgment is coming. The society of the mark of the beast have kindled a fire against the Gospel of Jesus and want nothing to do with Christianity, God, nor the Holy Spirit. They are not receptive, welcoming, nor do they offer peace to those who talk about coming to God through Jesus Christ for the remission of sin. Jesus says to walk away from them, leave them, “But whatever city you enter, and they do not receive you, go out into its streets and say, ‘The very dust of your city which clings to our feet we wipe off against you. Nevertheless know this, that the kingdom of God has come near you’” Luke 10:10-11 The day of judgment is coming, and there is no good news for those who choose to govern by and live for the mark of the beast. They do not just reject Jesus Christ, but they persecute those who live for Him, “I say to you that it will be more tolerable in that Day for Sodom than for that city. But it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment than for you.” Luke 10:12

The mighty hand of God is working in this world today by the fulfillment of Bible prophecy, such as global warming (Revelation 16:8-10), the formation of the global government (Revelation 17 and also Daniel 8), and the presence of the mark of the beast (Revelation 13). ““Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works which were done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.” Luke 10:13-14 Those who govern by the mark of the beast has built an exalted global government, but they will be brought down to Hell, “And you, Capernaum, who are exalted to heaven, will be brought down to Hades.” Luke 10:15

As followers of Jesus Christ, we simply present the Holy Scriptures, nothing less and nothing more, “For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” Revelation 19:10 We present the Word of God, “He who hears you hears Me, he who rejects you rejects Me, and he who rejects Me rejects Him who sent Me.” Luke 10:16
