Israel Has No Consolation as Destruction Comes to Them: Jacob is Loved and Esau Hated

Lamentations 2:12-22

The question that is asked of Israel, regarding feeding their people with the word of God is “Where is grain and wine?” Wine symbolizes the blood of Jesus Christ that He shed on the Cross for the remission of sin, and grain symbolizes God’s word that feeds the soul. They have rejected Jesus Christ, rejected the whole New Testament, and erases Jesus from the prophecies of their Old Testament. They have no way to be comforted in a world that surrounds them with hostility, isolation, and violence. Without Jesus Christ, they do not have the Holy Spirit as their comforter, and they cannot be consoled concerning the coming of the New Jerusalem that comes through Jesus. In the face of the global government of the mark of the beast, they swoon like the wounded and their life heritage is draining.

1They say to their mothers,
“Where is grain and wine?”
As they swoon like the wounded
In the streets of the city,
As their life is poured out
In their mothers’ bosom.

13 How shall I console you?
To what shall I liken you,
O daughter of Jerusalem?
What shall I compare with you, that I may comfort you,
O virgin daughter of Zion?
For your ruin is spread wide as the sea;
Who can heal you?

There are no true prophecies for Israel to speak anymore, at this point they have nothing left but false prophecies and delusions because they reject the prophecy that comes through Jesus, “For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” Revelation 19:10 Also, the younger Christians have received the blessings of the first-born Israelis, as symbolized by Jacob being blessed over Esau, and Ephraim being blessed over Manasseh, and the story of the births of Zerah and Perez. All the blessings that were meant for Israel are now meant for the followers of Jesus Christ. The Israelis do not see their sin of rejecting Jesus Christ. The nations of the world mock Israel’s status as God’s people, as is seen in the decisions of the United Nations, which progresses forward with establishing the global “democracy” of the mark of the beast. The world has counted Israel out.

14 Your prophets have seen for you
False and deceptive visions;
They have not uncovered your iniquity,
To bring back your captives,
But have envisioned for you false prophecies and delusions.

15 All who pass by this way clap their hands at you;
They hiss and shake their heads
At the daughter of Jerusalem:
“Is this the city that is called
‘The perfection of beauty,
The joy of the whole earth’?”

16 All your enemies have opened their mouth against you;
They hiss and gnash their teeth.
They say, “We have swallowed her up!
Surely this is the day we have waited for;
We have found it, we have seen it!”

All of the words spoken by God against Israel has come true,

17 The Lord has done what He purposed;
He has fulfilled His word
Which He commanded in days of old.
He has thrown down and has not pitied,
And He has caused an enemy to rejoice over you;
He has exalted the horn of your adversaries.

18 Their heart cried out to the Lord,
“O wall of the daughter of Zion,
Let tears run down like a river day and night;
Give yourself no relief;
Give your eyes no rest.

The global government of the mark of the beast uses economic pressure to coerce nations to submit to the global agenda. It’s easy to envision Israel being hit with food shortages due to their opposition to surrendering their independent identity to the nations of the Middle East. They can’t imagine the State of Israel being part of the “Arabian Federated Republics,” or something like that. We also know that as things worsen for the existence of Israel, the worse things get for the world. It becomes a time of severe global tribulation as the world blasphemes God, rejects Jesus Christ, and tramples on the Holy Spirit. The Battle of Armageddon follows after the world comes against Israel.

19 “Arise, cry out in the night,
At the beginning of the watches;
Pour out your heart like water before the face of the Lord.
Lift your hands toward Him
For the life of your young children,
Who faint from hunger at the head of every street.”

20 “See, O Lord, and consider!
To whom have You done this?
Should the women eat their offspring,
The children they have cuddled?
Should the priest and prophet be slain
In the sanctuary of the Lord?

21 “Young and old lie
On the ground in the streets;
My virgins and my young men
Have fallen by the sword;
You have slain them in the day of Your anger,
You have slaughtered and not pitied.

22 “You have invited as to a feast day
The terrors that surround me.
In the day of the Lord’s anger
There was no refugee or survivor.
Those whom I have borne and brought up
My enemies have destroyed.”
