The Blood of Christ is Life, but Draining of that Blood is Death of the Church

Luke 8:40-56

“Down at the cross where my saviour died,
Down where for cleansing from sin I cried
There to my heart was the blood applied
Glory to His name.”
(Church Hymn)

The Hoy Spirit makes a connection with the “twelve years” in the scriptures of this post. There is the “…daughter about twelve years of age, and she was dying,” and “…a woman, having a flow of blood for twelve years…” The first couple of scripture verses talks about the daughter of the church minister who is dying, then jumps into talking about the woman with the flow of blood, then returns to talking about the healing of the dying daughter. This is not one story interrupted by another, because through the Holy Spirit this is all one story relating to the blood of Jesus Christ. We are dying to Christ if His blood drains out from us. The blood that Jesus shed for us on the Cross is the lifeblood of the churches, and it is the lifeblood of every follower of Jesus Christ. His blood makes atonement for sin and is the testimony of Jesus Christ, it is the Gospel message. Without the blood of Jesus Christ, the Church does not exist.

  • Ask Jesus into our house when death seems inevitable.
  • Touching Jesus is the only way to prevent losing His redeeming blood.
  • The blood of Christ is applied to our heart to prevent bleeding out and dying to Him.
  • While death to Christ exists in the churches, He brings life to individual souls.
  • The blood of Jesus is the life that resurrects us from the dead.

Ask Jesus into our house when death seems inevitable. Jesus returned to Jewish territory after casting out a demon in Gentile territory, “So it was, when Jesus returned, that the multitude welcomed Him, for they were all waiting for Him.” Luke8:40. Today, we followers of Jesus Christ welcome Him into our life, and we eagerly wait for His return. Nowadays, the message of Christ’s death, resurrection, and return is something that are missing in the churches. But it is a noteworthy event when just one minister of a church bows to Jesus and invites Him into their house, the house being the body, the Church of the Holy Spirit. There was a man named Jairus, a minister over one manmade church, who came and bowed to Jesus, “And behold, there came a man named Jairus, and he was a ruler of the synagogue. And he fell down at Jesus’ feet and begged Him to come to his house…” Luke 8:41. I’ve seen ministers who try to hold onto their very small congregation of about six people or so while being faithful to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The doors of such a Church are very close to dying altogether. For a faithful minister of Jesus Christ, seeing the dying state of the Church is like having a daughter of the age of twelve who is dying. That was the sorrow of Jairus when he came to Jesus, “…for he had an only daughter about twelve years of age, and she was dying.” Luke 8:42a.

Touching Jesus is the only way to prevent losing His redeeming blood. When it comes to inviting Jesus into our house to seek healing for the Church, multitudes are going to make the process difficult, as written, “But as He went, the multitudes thronged Him.” Luke 8:42b. Today the churches are dominated by the multitudes who live for the mark of the beast. The churches have been losing blood and dying for “twelve years,” they have lost the redeeming blood of Jesus Christ and have died to Him. The connection is made with the daughter of Jairus being twelve years of age and the flow of blood being for twelve years. The manmade churches, from the days of the Old Testament to present times, have always suffered sickness because they try to live without God and His Son Jesus Christ.

The community family frame-of-mind embraces humanism empowered by the mark of the beast, and the churches depend on it as their physician. Their whole livelihood is spent on following the community agenda of the mark of the beast. “Now a woman, having a flow of blood for twelve years, who had spent all her livelihood on physicians and could not be healed by any…” Luke 8:43 It is only by reaching out and touching Jesus that the Church can be healed, and it means for each one of us to devote our body to God as the Chruch of the Holy Spirit. The Church is each of us who follow Jesus Christ, not the manmade churches. The only way to stop losing the redeeming blood of Jesus is to reach out and touch Him like the woman with a flow of blood who “…came from behind and touched the border of His garment. And immediately her flow of blood stopped.” Luke 8:44.

The blood of Christ is applied to our heart to prevent bleeding out and dying to Him. Today, the multitudes within the social network of the mark of the beast makes it a terrifying experience to live for Jesus Christ. They come against His teachings, blaspheme God, and trample on the Holy Spirit. They are the ones who thrive on seeing the blood of Christ draining from the churches and individuals. In fact, the denial of a living God and denying the need for the redemption of Jesus Christ permeates society. Everyone denies reaching out to Jesus, “And Jesus said, “Who touched Me?” When all denied it, Peter and those with Him said, “Master, the multitudes throng and press You, and You say, ‘Who touched Me?’” Luke 8:45. Jesus Christ recognizes when a single individual comes apart from the multitudes to touch Him, “But Jesus said, “Somebody touched Me, for I perceived power going out from Me.” Luke 8:46.

When we come to Jesus to touch Him, it is not going to be hidden and we are going to bow to Him in front of the social network of those who live or the mark of the beast. The healing of our soul comes by believing in our heart and confessing with our mouth that Jesus is Lord. We no longer bleed out with the blood of Christ, but His Blood is applied to our heart to give life in His name. As written here, “Now when the woman saw that she was not hidden, she came trembling; and falling down before Him, she declared to Him in the presence of all the people the reason she had touched Him and how she was healed immediately.” Luke 8:47 As the blood of Christ is applied to our heart, Jesus says to us what He said to the woman, “And He said to her, “Daughter, be of good cheer; your faith has made you well. Go in peace.” Luke 8:48

While death to Christ exists in the churches, He brings life to individual souls. After Christ shed His blood on the Cross to atone for sin, it brought death to the Jewish churches because everyone began to come to God through Jesus Christ. The Jewish nation allowed the blood of Christ to drain from their services, leaving them dead to Christ. As spoken here, “While He was still speaking, someone came from the ruler of the synagogue’s house, saying to him, “Your daughter is dead. Do not trouble the Teacher.” Luke 8:49. The death also describes the churches of today who have discarded the need for the atoning blood of Christ and have allowed it to drain from their services. Even then, there are individuals who believe in Jesus Christ, and He tells us not to be afraid, and we will be made well. He will apply His blood to our heart, and we will discover that life is in the Blood, and we will become the Church of the Holy Spirit. “But when Jesus heard it, He answered him, saying, “Do not be afraid; only believe, and she will be made well.” Luke 8:50. Jesus Christ comes into our house, our body, and allows no one entry into the fellowship except Holy Spirit filled believers, “When He came into the house, He permitted no one to go in except Peter, James, and John, and the father and mother of the girl.” Luke 8:51.

The blood of Jesus is the life that resurrects us from the dead. The thing that has power over physiology can form thoughts, emotions, and feelings to bring death to Christ by trampling on the Holy Spirit and blaspheming God. That death makes a person the seat of government for the mark of the beast instead of having life in Christ as the Church of the Holy Spirit. The people of God mourn for those who have died to Christ. While the redeeming blood of Jesus is mocked and ridiculed by those who live for the mark of the beast, Jesus considers our spiritual death as only sleeping. He can wake anyone up with the life-giving blood He shed on the Cross for the remission of sin, “Now all wept and mourned for her; but He said, “Do not weep; she is not dead, but sleeping.” And they ridiculed Him, knowing that she was dead.” Luke 8:52-53 The unbelievers who mock and ridicule the healing blood of Jesus Christ will not have a presence with Him but will suffer eternal torment. Jesus is returning to raise us from the dead (we who have His blood applied to the heart) and to give us eternal life. In the New Jerusalem we will eat from the tree of life. “But He put them all outside, took her by the hand and called, saying, “Little girl, arise.” Then her spirit returned, and she arose immediately. And He commanded that she be given something to eat. And her parents were astonished, but He charged them to tell no one what had happened.” Luke 8:54-56

“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25
