Family is through Jesus Christ, not Biological Factors

The crowds impede the ability of coming to Jesus Christ. “Then His mother and brothers came to Him, and could not approach Him because of the crowd.” Luke 8:19 As followers of Jesus Christ, we want to nurture and fellowship with one another in His Spirit, but we are prevented by the crowd. The crowd is the broad way of mainstream society that lives for the mark of the beast. Their purpose is to keep the fellowship of the people of God scattered and apart from each other, and to prevent people from coming to Jesus Christ. Also, it’s more than likely that our parents and siblings are part of the society who live for the mark of the beast. They are not able to approach Jesus because they do not believe God, have discarded the need for Jesus Christ, and trample on the Holy Spirit.

Our family members are standing outside wanting to visit. “And it was told Him by some, who said, “Your mother and Your brothers are standing outside, desiring to see You.” Luke 8:20 As followers of Jesus Christ, we are set apart from the ways of the world and from those who embrace the ways of the world. Even within our own biological family, parents and siblings come against their own blood who lives for Jesus. They live their life outside the realm of the teachings of the Bible, but they desire to visit, which turns into a sour experience for the people of God. They live by the thoughts, feelings, emotions, and behaviors given to them by the thing that has power over physiology. It is hostile to Christ because it is the mark of the beast. Yet, even today, there are biological family members caught up in the Christless social network who sincerely want to visit with Jesus. They sincerely want to visit with their Christian relative.

Our family are those who live for Jesus Christ. “But He answered and said to them, “My mother and My brothers are these who hear the word of God and do it.” Luke 8:21 One of the hardest things for parents, children, and siblings to do is give up their natural relationships in exchange for the fellowship within the family of God. It puts them on the narrow way with Jesus Christ and takes them off the broad way of a thriving social network. The social network of those who live for the mark of the beast makes a person feel unloving, unsupportive, and hateful for choosing Jesus over their own family members. That is the way of humanism empowered by the mark of the beast. Yet, the only family that a follower of Jesus Christ has are those who hear the Holy Spirit, they hear the Holy Scriptures of the Bible, and lives their life accordingly. There is a sign on the door of our heart that says, Jesus is the gate, and no one enters except through Him. That is the same sign that should be put on our front door. There is no fellowship except through Jesus Christ, that is family, and no one enters into the house except through Him.
