“To God be the glory, great things He hath done,
So loved He the world that He gave us His Son,
Who yielded His life our redemption to win,
And opened the life-gate that all may go in.
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, let the earth hear His voice;
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, let the people rejoice;
Oh, come to the Father, through Jesus the Son,
And give Him the glory; great things He hath done.”

Jesus is coming back for His people when the churches are sick. Jesus Christ came as the Messiah for the Jewish people at a time when the leadership was sick and far from the Spirit of God. Jesus said the Pharisees and Sadducees were making their congregation two times the children of hell as themselves. Jesus had to forget about His own Jewish people and became fruitful by bringing the forgiveness of sin and Salvation to the Gentiles. That is represented when Jacob was sick and Joseph went to him with his two sons, Manasseh (Forgetfulness) and Ephraim (Fruitfulness). “Now it came to pass after these things that Joseph was told, “Indeed your father is sick”; and he took with him his two sons, Manasseh and Ephraim.” Genesis 48:1 Today, the churches are sick and have discarded the Gospel of Jesus Christ, even as they teach their congregations to serve the mark of the beast. Jesus Christ is coming back, and when He does, He will forget about the Christless churches and come for those who are fruitful in His name.
We perk up hearing how close is the return of Jesus. Jesus Christ is from the Jewish tribe of Judah, making Him a son of the nation of Israel. When initial reports spread around the Jewish nation that the Messiah had come, the Pharisees and Sadducees perked up. They were very interested in questioning Him and talking to Him. It was like when Jacob perked up when he heard of Joseph’s coming, “And Jacob was told, “Look, your son Joseph is coming to you”; and Israel strengthened himself and sat up on the bed.” Genesis 48:2 Today, we perk up hearing how close the coming of Jesus Christ is, the global government is here (Revelation 17), global warming is here which plays a role in destroying the power center of the mark of the beast (Revelation 16:8-10), and the mark of the beast is here (Revelation 13).
Jesus multiplies His people who will inherit eternal life in the New Jerusalem. The Jewish people, including the Pharisees and Sadducees, were expecting their nation to be mighty and numerous, but nothing like what they were under the Roman Empire. When Jesus Christ began to bring multitudes and multitudes of Gentiles to God in His name, it blew their mind. People were being drawn away from the Jewish authority, not multiplying under their rule. The Jewish nation were thinking about the promise made to Abraham, of how their seed would be multiplied as uncountable as the stars in the sky. That started to happen as they grew from seventy people, through Jacob, to hundreds of thousands during the time of their Exodus. They expected to inherit an everlasting promised land on this earth. As stated here, “Then Jacob said to Joseph: “God Almighty appeared to me at Luz in the land of Canaan and blessed me, and said to me, ‘Behold, I will make you fruitful and multiply you, and I will make of you a multitude of people, and give this land to your descendants after you as an everlasting possession.’” Genesis 48:3-4 As we know today, the multitudes and multitudes and multitudes of people brought to God through Jesus Christ is the promise made to Jacob, Isaac, and Abraham. The multitudes who come to God through Jesus Christ will inherit the eternal promised land of the New Jerusalem.
As adopted children of God, we will inherit eternal life after the tribulation. Joseph was initially a tribe of Jacob, being one of his twelve sons, but Joseph’s two sons replaced him. Ephraim and Manasseh are his sons who became one tribe together, or half-tribes. Jacob claimed them as his own sons, as mentioned here, “And now your two sons, Ephraim and Manasseh, who were born to you in the land of Egypt before I came to you in Egypt, are mine; as Reuben and Simeon, they shall be mine.” Genesis 48:5 Any offspring of Joseph, from that moment on, would be numbered among the tribes of his two sons. “Your offspring who you beget after them shall be yours; they will be called by the name of their brothers in their inheritance.” Genesis 48:6 The last days meaning of the names of Reuben and Simeon relates to being unstable as water, would never excel, murderous plotter, and sits in an assembly. The meaning of the names of Manasseh and Ephraim is forgetfulness and fruitfulness. The Pharisees and Sadducees were unstable in their loyalty to God and did not excel, they are the ones who assembled together to plot the death of Jesus Christ. That is why Jesus forgot them and became fruitful among the Gentiles. Today, we are the adopted children of God through Jesus Christ. It’s obvious there is a conspiracy against the Gospel of Jesus and His followers in this world governed by the mark of beast. Jesus is returning and they will be forgotten because those who hold to His testimony will inherit the Salvation of eternal life.
The return of Jesus is near, and we are blessed to be adopted into God’s family. Those of the Old Testament did not live to see their Savior being born in the city of Bethlehem, but in their obedience to God, in search of the promised land, they were headed in that direction. “But as for me, when I came from Padan, Rachel died beside me in the land of Canaan on the way, when there was but a little distance to go to Ephrath; and I buried her there on the way to Ephrath (that is, Bethlehem).” Genesis 48:7 Today, there is just a little farther to go before the return of Jesus Christ, there is less than “42 months” because the mark of the beast is only in this world for “42 months,” “And it was given a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies, and it was given authority to continue for forty-two months.” Revelation 13:5 Jesus is coming, and we are blessed to be the children of God born through Jesus Christ. We are those who made Him forget the Jewish nation who rejected Him and through us He has become fruitful. Joseph is symbolic of Jesus Christ, “Then Israel saw Joseph’s sons, and said, “Who are these?” Joseph said to his father, “They are my sons, whom God has given me in this place.” And he said, “Please bring them to me, and I will bless them.” Genesis 48:8-9
A day of rejoicing it will be to see the face of the risen Savior. Jacob was very old and could barely see on the day when Joseph brought his children to his father. Jacob received them warmly, as written here, “Now the eyes of Israel were dim with age, so that he could not see. Then Joseph brought them near him, and he kissed them and embraced them.” Genesis 48:10 Jacob would have rejoiced to see the day of Jesus Christ, as he eagerly embraced, kissed, and adopted the children of Joseph in the same way Christ adopted us. Jesus said, “Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it and was glad.” John 8:56 A day is coming when Jesus Christ presents us to God, His father, who will kiss and embrace us. It will be a day of rejoicing to see the face of the risen Savior and all His children in the New Jerusalem, as represented, “And Israel said to Joseph, “I had not thought to see your face; but in fact, God has also shown me your offspring!” Genesis 4:11
Christianity is given the greater blessing over the Jewish nation. Jacob gives the younger son, Ephraim, the greater blessing, and gave the older son, Manasseh, the lesser blessing. That symbolizes the older son of the Jewish nation receiving the lesser blessing and the younger son of Christianity receiving the greater blessing. Manasseh means “Forgetfulness” and Ephraim means “Fruitfulness.” Jesus Christ came first for the Jews (who rejected Him) and then to the Gentiles (who received Him), but He offered the greater blessing to the Jews first before the Gentiles. That is represented in how Joseph brought his sons to Joseph to be blessed, the older son was walked to Jacob’s right hand (the hand of the greater blessing), and the younger son was walked to the left hand (the hand of lesser blessing). “So Joseph brought them from beside his knees, and he bowed down with his face to the earth. And Joseph took them both, Ephraim with his right hand toward Israel’s left hand, and Manasseh with his left hand toward Israel’s right hand, and brought them near him.” Genesis 48:12-13 Jacob purposely crisscrossed his hands so that the right hand was on the younger son of “Fruitfulness,” and the left hand was on the older son of “Forgetfulness.” This represents Christianity receiving a greater blessing over the Jewish nation. “Then Israel stretched out his right hand and laid it on Ephraim’s head, who was the younger, and his left hand on Manasseh’s head, guiding his hands knowingly, for Manasseh was the firstborn.” Genesis 48:14
Praise and blessing to Jesus Christ for the great things He has done. Our praise and blessings should always be on Jesus Christ, who made it possible for each one of us to be adopted into the family of God. We are part of the family of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. He feeds us through the Bread of Life, the Holy Scriptures, and the Holy Spirit every day of our life. He has redeemed us from sin by the sacrifice He made on the Cross, and we share the Gospel to bring the Salvation blessing to others. Christianity has spread throughout all the earth, (but today the government of the mark of the beast has prohibited the testimony of Jesus Christ). The Holy Spirit represents that in Jacob’s blessing on Joseph, “And he blessed Joseph, and said: “God, before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac walked, the God who has fed me all my life long to this day, “The Angel who has redeemed me from all evil, bless the lads; Let my name be named upon them, and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac; And let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth.” Genesis 48:15-16
Jesus Christ submits to His Father’s will to establish Christianity over the Jews. Jesus Christ was human and experienced all the same feelings as any other human, yet He was sinless as God the Son. I can imagine He had felt those painful human emotions when He put the Jewish nation into the realm of forgetfulness as He multiplied Christianity into phenomenal fruitfulness. I can imagine Jesus did all He could for His Jewish “brothers,” wanting them to receive the greater blessing, and not wanting anyone to perish. After all, He came for the Jews first, and only because of their rejection of Him did He go to the Gentiles. The Holy Spirit reveals that to us in this verse, “Now when Joseph saw that his father laid his right hand on the head of Ephraim, it displeased him; so he took hold of his father’s hand to remove it from Ephraim’s head to Manasseh’s head.” Genesis 48:17 I can hear Jesus Christ fervently praying to His Father not to take His blessings away from the Jews, even as He prayed fervently for the cup of the crucifixion to pass from Him. Every time He says, not my will but Your will be done. “And Joseph said to his father, “Not so, my father, for this one is the firstborn; put your right hand on his head.” But his father refused and said, “I know, my son, I know. He also shall become a people, and he also shall be great; but truly his younger brother shall be greater than he, and his descendants shall become a multitude of nations.” Genesis 48:18-19 Christianity is that younger brother of the older Jewish nation.
The heritage of God’s family consists of the Jewish nation and Christianity. God has spoken though Jesus Christ, and the family of God is like Ephraim and Manasseh. We see the Jewish nation in the world, which is categorized as those who reject their Messiah and Savior of the world, Jesus Christ. And we see Christianity in the world who are categorized as the followers of Christ who have accepted His Salvation by the atonement He made for sin. The family of God exists in this world through Jesus Christ, not through the Jewish nation. “So he blessed them that day, saying, “By you Israel will bless, saying, ‘May God make you as Ephraim and as Manasseh!’” And thus he set Ephraim before Manasseh.” Genesis 48:20 What we have in common as the family of God is the persecution that comes at the hand of the global government that operates by the mark of the beast. The Jewish nation is targeted to erase the name of God from the face of the earth, as the global government sets themselves up as God above anything that is called god. The followers of Jesus Christ are targeted because we devote our body as the home of the holy Spirit and refuse to be the seat of government for the mark of the beast.
Jesus Christ has been given a portion above His Jewish “brothers.” The Jewish nation is a hollow shell without Jesus Christ, they are like the shed skin of a locust or the shed skin of a snake. The fullness of life is in Jesus Christ who has ascended from the grave to live eternally in the Paradise of God. Because He lives, we live also. While Jesus Christ is Jewish, from the tribe of Judah, God has given Him a portion above all His “brothers.” The Holy Spirit reveals that in this verse, “Then Israel said to Joseph, “Behold, I am dying, but God will be with you and bring you back to the land of your fathers. Moreover I have given to you one portion above your brothers, which I took from the hand of the Amorite with my sword and my bow.” Genesis 48:21-22
“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,“
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
“I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25, 3:11
