We are set apart in a world that monitors with social and economic information. The followers of Jesus Christ are set apart from the ways of this world, and whatever we possess is set apart with us. For example, if we own a car then it is not used as transport to worldly events, wherever we live it is not used to entertain guests who live for the ways of this world, etc. Our transportation, housing, and everything else is used to glorify the name of Jesus and to share the Gospel. In a sense, we live in the land of Goshen. Those who governs by the mark of the beast are aware where we are and what we have. They are very good at analyzing demographic and economic factors. They know the average income and employment rate of each city and knows exactly how much is being spent at Walmart and Kroger’s in Circleville. They know what type of merchandise and food is being bought in each city. The spoken word of God has set all of this into motion, and those who choose to live by the mark of the beast are bringing the fulfillment of Bible prophecy. Followers of Jesus Christ are talking about that prophecy, “For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” Revelation 19:10 Joseph represents the spoken word of Jesus Christ referring to the reports made to the leaders of the global government, “Then Joseph went and told Pharaoh, and said, “My father and my brothers, their flocks and their herds and all that they possess, have come from the land of Canaan; and indeed they are in the land of Goshen” Genesis 47:1
What is the occupation of the people of God in a Christless world? What is the occupation of those who choose to follow Jesus Christ? That is a rhetorical question since every city around the nation and around the world has established mainstream society for those who live by the mark of the beast. They are endowed with what is necessary to succeed by the thing that has power over physiology. Their social network has authority, power, uncanny knowledge, heightened intuition, extraordinary skill, amazing physical abilities, etc. Money, possessions, and physical comfort belong to them. The people of God are set apart from all of that in the land of Goshen, we are shepherds trying to bring people into the fold of God through Jesus Christ. That is the way Jesus presents us to the government who operates through the mark of the beast, and that is how Joseph presented his brothers to Pharoah, “And he took five men from among his brothers and presented them to Pharaoh. Then Pharaoh said to his brothers, “What is your occupation?” Genesis 47:2-3a
As people of God, the best we ask for is to be set apart in peace from the world. As Christians, we plainly say that we are shepherds following the way of Jesus Christ, even knowing that Christianity is an abomination in today’s world, “And they said to Pharaoh, “Your servants are shepherds, both we and also our fathers” Genesis 47:3b It was the American heritage that our ancestors were considered men of God who shepherded the nation through the Word of God. Not so much anymore. Today, the Godly heritage is suffering a famine of the Gospel of Christ and earthly resources are minimal for the people of God. There is a famine of the Gospel within the churches and the flock is not being fed. The best we can ask for is to be allowed to live peacefully in Goshen, a land set apart from the rest of the world. “And they said to Pharaoh, “We have come to dwell in the land, because your servants have no pasture for their flocks, for the famine is severe in the land of Canaan. Now therefore, please let your servants dwell in the land of Goshen.” Genesis 47:4
Followers of Jesus Christ are separated and given undesirable jobs by this world. Today, it’s obvious that those who live for the teachings of Jesus Christ are scattered and separated by those who govern by the mark of the beast. We choose to come to Jesus while rejecting the mark of the beast, and these are the words spoken to Jesus (represented by Joseph) by the government of the beast, “Then Pharaoh spoke to Joseph, saying, “Your father and your brothers have come to you.” Genesis 47:5 The society of the mark of the beast is everywhere before us, but we are restricted to our place of residence, that is our Goshen. Those who govern by the mark of the beast order it to be like that, “The land of Egypt is before you. Have your father and brothers dwell in the best of the land; let them dwell in the land of Goshen.” Genesis 47:6 a. It might be the best of the land for despised shepherds, but definitely not the land desired by the Egyptians. The jobs offered to those who live for Jesus Christ are the jobs everyone else despises. Shepherds were despised by the Egyptians, yet those are the jobs offered to the kinsmen of Joseph, who represents Jesus Christ, “And if you know any competent men among them, then make them chief herdsmen over my livestock.” Genesis 47:6b.
The days of Christianity are few and filled with evil under the present government. The global government of the mark of the beast are keeping tabs on how the population of the people of God are aging. While we are in the land of Goshen, set apart from the rest of the world, they are anticipating our withering away. That is represented here, “Then Joseph brought in his father Jacob and set him before Pharaoh; and Jacob blessed Pharaoh. Pharaoh said to Jacob, “How old are you?” Genesis 47:7-8 Since the arrival of the government of the mark of the beast, since immediately after WW2, the Gospel of Jesus Christ sharply declined. Reverence for God was thrown out the window, the need for Jesus Christ was discarded, and the Holy Spirit trampled on. Since the New World Order of the mark of the beast, the days of Christianity has become old, our days few and filled with evil. In just a few short years, less than seventy, the people of God have dwindled, and have not attained anywhere close to the longevity of before WW2. But there are a faithful few holding to the testimony of Jesus Christ. Jacob said that to Pharoah, “And Jacob said to Pharaoh, “The days of the years of my sojourning are one hundred and thirty years; few and evil have been the days of the years of my life, and they have not attained to the days of the years of the life of my fathers in the days of their pilgrimage. So Jacob blessed Pharaoh, and went out from before Pharaoh.” Genesis 47:9-10
Jesus Christ has set us apart with the Bread of Life and the Holy Spirit. Within a government that closely tabulates the allocation of resources from city to city, imagine what would happen if the population of the people of God began to boom. They are destined to disappear through attrition, so if they began to grow, then those who live for the mark of the beast would take corrective action. Even then, there will always be the faithful few in this word all the way to the end. They hold to the testimony of Jesus Christ throughout the global tribulation. Today, we live in this world set apart from the ways of the world, we have food and a place to live, although many do not. We are able to read the Bible from the privacy of our own home and even to blog (to whoever is reading the posts). That is represented here, “And Joseph situated his father and his brothers, and gave them a possession in the land of Egypt, in the best of the land, in the land of Rameses, as Pharaoh had commanded. Then Joseph provided his father, his brothers, and all his father’s household with bread, according to the number in their families.” Genesis 47:11-12 But what happens as global warming continues to intensify, and water becomes scarce along with every type of resource? What would happen if the body of Christ began to grow? The Jewish people grew from the seventy in Goshen to hundreds of thousands in Egypt. That is when the persecution of the Jewish people began, and Moses entered in. Jesus is returning to rescue His people from this perishing world.
“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,“
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
“I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25, 3:1
