Jesus prayed all night before choosing the twelve Apostles. Nowadays, there is a ton of interference relating to prayer by the thing that has power over physiology to form thoughts, emotions, and feelings. That is why I’m glad the Spirit makes intercession for us, “Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.” Romans 8:26. The prayer life of Jesus, while on this earth was phenomenal, so I know His intercession for us is just as phenomenal, “Now it came to pass in those days that He went out to the mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God.” Luke 6:12. Especially when it comes to relationships with other people, I know He is praying and guiding my footsteps, only He hears my soul’s petitions. While in public, I wear clothing to lift up the name of Jesus, and most people make it a point not to approach me in the name of Jesus, others are openly rude in the presence of His name. While I am approachable in the Spirit of Christ, I’m glad Jesus has opened my eyes to be set apart from the Christless and hostile world.
Jesus chose the twelve Apostles from among His disciples. Jesus chose His twelve Apostles after being in prayer all night, and each one would be a witness to His death, resurrection, and ascension into Heaven. “And when it was day, He called His disciples to Himself; and from them He chose twelve whom He also named apostles: Simon, whom He also named Peter, and Andrew his brother; James and John; Philip and Bartholomew; Matthew and Thomas; James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon called the Zealot; Judas the son of James, and Judas Iscariot who also became a traitor.” Luke 6:13-16
Could a sinner clothed in the Holy Spirit turn out to be a wolf in sheep clothing? One of the chosen Apostles of Jesus Christ was Judas Iscariot, who betrayed Him and led to His crucifixion. That led to the fulfillment of Bible prophecy of Christ being the Messiah who brought the atonement of sin and eternal life. Prayer is not to give me a personal utopia here on earth, but to make me more like Jesus according to the will of God. For example, I choose the narrow road with Christ which includes a very minimal amount of money, possessions, social contact, and physical comforts. That is much better than the broad way of mainstream society who prosper but live for the mark of the beast. Many betrayals come from those who put on a friendly face and gives a loving kiss just to corrupt the testimony of Jesus Christ. Today, we are seeing the fulfillment of Bible prophecy with open affliction towards the followers of Jesus. In the following verses Jesus says, “Blessed are you when men hate you and when they exclude you.” and in another place says, “But woe to you who are rich, for you have received your consolation.”
Jesus Christ is willing to heal anyone of sin who comes to Him. Jesus comes to our level when ministering to us so that fellowship with His Spirit is easily accepted. Multitudes came to Him from cities all around because He was approachable and didn’t set up barriers against anyone. We should desire to be like Jesus, “And He came down with them and stood on a level place with a crowd of His disciples and a great multitude of people from all Judea and Jerusalem, and from the seacoast of Tyre and Sidon, who came to hear Him…” Luke 6:17 Today, the masses of society live for the mark of the beast, and they despise the teachings of Jesus. Even still, He is here and welcomes each one of us to come to God through Him for the healing that comes by the forgiveness of sin. Every single person who comes to God through Jesus will be healed, including those tormented with demons, “…and be healed of their diseases, as well as those who were tormented with unclean spirits. And they were healed. And the whole multitude sought to touch Him, for power went out from Him and healed them all.” Luke 6:17b-19. These are not the physical healings that are done by the thing that has power over physiology, these are healings that only Jesus Christ can do. They are the healings that reconcile us to God and brings the infilling of the Holy Spirit and helps us to oppose the presence of the mark of the beast. He helps us to discern thoughts and feelings,
“For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword,
piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow,
and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”
Hebrews 4:12
Jesus comforts the affliction we suffer at the hands of the masses. Verse twenty says that Jesus Christ looked towards His disciples when He first started His sermon, which would be the first five verses, “Then He lifted up His eyes toward His disciples, and said:” Luke 6:20 I believe His interaction with the disciples, before addressing the masses, is a prophetic message for us today. What He said to the disciples is the Holy Spirit bringing words of comfort to us because of the affliction we suffer from the masses who live in the broad way of mainstream society. The Bible often refers to the masses without mentioning a word of what He spoke to them, such as in Luke 5:1-4 etc. Jesus is more interested in the individual person who desires Him than the many who don’t. Jesus also said, “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.” Matthew 7:13-14
Jesus speaks to His followers who enter the narrow gate. Jesus spoke the next five verses to His disciples as they stood in front of a large crowd. Today, we are His disciples who enter the narrow gate, and He knows the affliction we suffer at the hand of the majority who live for the mark of the beast. Money and possessions are for those who follow the crowds of the mainstream, so Jesus says to us, ““Blessed are you poor, for yours is the kingdom of God.” Luke 6:20 Jesus knows the hunger that is in this world and the enormous amount of SNAP benefits that go out every month, to us He says, “Blessed are you who hunger now, for you shall be filled.” Luke 6:21 The horrendous amount of physical pain, mental anguish, and emotional conflict causes many tears, and to us Jesus says, “Blessed are you who weep now, for you shall laugh.” Luke 6:21 Jesus knows how much His children are hated for embracing the teachings of the Bible, how we are excluded, reviled, and treated as evil haters of humanity. and He calls us blessed, “Blessed are you when men hate you, and when they exclude you, and revile you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of Man’s sake.” Luke 6:22 Suffering affliction for the name of Jesus is a blessed day of rejoicing because the reward we have in heaven is a great one, “Rejoice in that day and leap for joy! For indeed your reward is great in heaven, for in like manner their fathers did to the prophets.” Luke 6:23
Jesus has words to say to the masses who enter the broad gate. Jesus focused His eyes on His disciples when He spoke the first five verses of His sermon, but now He is looking at and speaking to the crowd. Those who live in mainstream society are the majority who live for the mark of the beast, and they prosper with money, possessions, and physical comforts, so Jesus says to them, “But woe to you who are rich, for you have received your consolation.” Luke 6:24 The society living for the mark of the beast are made to feel joy and laughter by the thing that has power over emotions, and they have their fill of delicious and desirable food, but Jesus says, “Woe to you who are full, for you shall hunger. Woe to you who laugh now, for you shall mourn and weep.” Luke 6:25 The day of judgment is coming where they will suffer eternal torment in the lake of fire. Those who govern and live by the mark of the beast honor each other with flattery because they are actually honoring the mark of the beast within themselves, but Jesus says, “Woe to you when all men speak well of you, for so did their fathers to the false prophets.” Luke 6:26
“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,“
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
“I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25, 3:11
