A methodical routine is not the same as a Holy Spirit filled life. We live by the new covenant of Jesus Christ which makes the person the temple of the Holy Spirit. Each individual person is the Church and Jesus Christ is the minister of the Church. The Spirit of Christ lives in us and makes prayers for us, “Likewise, the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession with groanings which cannot be uttered.” Romans 8:26. The Pharisees and the followers of John the Baptist were still living by the old covenant and following the guidelines for fasting and prayer. “Then they said to Him, “The disciples of John fast often and make prayers, and likewise those of the Pharisees, but Yours eat and drink?” Luke 5:33.
There is joy with Jesus Christ but mourning in a Christless world. The disciples of Jesus were eating and drinking in the presence of the One who was marrying their soul to His Spirit. Likewise, as long as Jesus Christ lives in us through the Holy Spirit, there is no reason for mourning, fasting, or making fleshly prayers, “And He said to them, “Can you make the friends of the bridegroom fast while the bridegroom is with them?” Luke 5:34. Even then, the Holy Spirit is grieved in this world today, and we are taught, “And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, quarrelling, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.” Ephesians 4:30-32. Today, we live in a turbulent world that not only grieves the Holy Spirit but blasphemes Him, and it is a mournful experience for the followers of Jesus Christ. Jesus is not in the churches, not in the schools, not in the homes, not in the government, and not in the communities. But there are a faithful few holding to the testimony of Jesus Christ in a world governed through the mark of the beast. We are living in the days where Jesus Christ is being taken from us, “But the days will come when the bridegroom will be taken away from them; then they will fast in those days.” Luke 5:35
A life with Jesus is not compatible to a life without Him. The new life is in Jesus Christ, but the old life is without Jesus Christ. Those who govern by the mark of the beast, in the name of humanism, thrive on the old nature without Jesus. If we took a piece of the love, peace, and joy of the Holy Spirit and try to patch the worldly love, peace, and joy it would cause a tear. Those who live without Christ would go on a tear of opposition if confronted with the teachings of Christ. The new love, peace, and joy of the Holy Spirit does not match the love, peace, and joy coming from the masses in society. “Then He spoke a parable to them: “No one tears a piece from a new garment and puts it on an old one; otherwise, the new makes a tear, and also the piece that was taken out of the new does not match the old.” Luke 5:36.
We are the temple of the Holy Spirit and nothing else works. We are the temple of the Holy Spirit but the thing that has power over physiology wants to make us the seat of government for the mark of the beast. It does that by forming thoughts, emotions, feelings, and behaviors. The new wine of the Spirit of Jesus Christ is not compatible to the old nature governed by the mark of the beast. To put the teachings of Jesus into a mind and heart which embraces Godless intentions causes the Word of God to be spilled out. The Holy Spirit brings ruin to those who live by the mark of the beast. “And no one puts new wine into old wineskins; or else the new wine will burst the wineskins and be spilled, and the wineskins will be ruined.” Luke 5:37
The Holy Spirit lives in a person whose mind and heart are for Jesus Christ. When we come to God through Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit changes us on the inside, our thoughts change, our responses to feelings change, our emotions, change, and our behaviors change. In that way, the Word of God is preserved in us at the same time that our body receives the promise of preservation by eternal life. Also, the Holy Spirit preserves our human spirit to preserve us from being transformed into a human robot by the thing that has power over thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and emotions. “But new wine must be put into new wineskins, and both are preserved.” Luke 5:38a. The new life in Jesus Christ means glorifying the name of Jesus and sharing His Gospel, and it may not come easy at first, “And no one, having drunk old wine, immediately desires new; for he says, ‘The old is better.’” Luke 5:38b
“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,“
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
“I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25, 3:11
