Joseph is the only Jewish person in Egypt at this time. Later in Joseph’s life, his family will be moved to Egypt with him for a total of about seventy Jewish people. After the death of Joseph, the death of his father Jacob, and all of his brothers, the Jewish people continued to grow exponentially in numbers. It was at that point when they were treated brutally by the succeeding Pharoah, and Moses entered in. The Pharoah in authority over Joseph is not the same Pharoah that Moses conflicted with before the exodus from Egypt. Still, Joseph is a slave governing under the authority of a Godless world government.
- Like Joseph, Jesus was brought down to an enslaved world.
- As it was with Joseph, Jesus is prosperous in a world enslaved to sin.
- Like Joseph, Jesus was shown favor in a world enslaved by sin.
- Like with Joseph, God shows favor for the sake of Jesus Christ
Like Joseph, Jesus was brought down to an enslaved world. Because this world is in captivity to sin, Jesus Christ was brought down here to earth, and Egypt symbolizes this world’s slavery to sin. Even in Egypt, Joseph represents Jesus Christ as part of the scarlet thread that connects the Holy Scriptures to Jesus, “Now Joseph had been taken down to Egypt.” Genesis 39:1a. This world functions through money, possessions, physical comforts, power, authority, and force, which enslaves people to sin. Those elements have betrayed Jesus Christ, and the followers of Jesus are held captive to the materialistic compulsion that drives the hearts of people. That is especially true in this world which governs in the name of humanism empowered by the mark of the beast. Joseph was bought with money by the captain of the guard (a military type of authority), who worked directly for Pharoah, a global power. “And Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, captain of the guard, an Egyptian, bought him from the Ishmaelites who had taken him down there.” Genesis 39:1
As it was with Joseph, Jesus is prosperous in a world enslaved to sin. The power of God is with Jesus Christ, and His prosperity is seen all around this sin-enslaved world with every church ever constructed. His prosperous ways are seen in the soul of every person who has ever come to God through Him, and in every fulfilled prophecy of the Bible, including global warming (Revelation 16:8-10), the establishing of the global government (Daniel 8 and Revelation 17), and the presence of the mark of the beast (Revelation 13). The prosperity of Jesus Christ is happening in the house enslaved by sin. Also, by the power of God, Joseph prospered in the house of the Egyptian, “The Lord was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian.” Genesis 39:2
Like Joseph, Jesus was shown favor in a world enslaved by sin. Those who govern over communities, states, and nations are looking for people who are able to make them prosper in power, influence, money, and possessions. Today, the thing that has power over physiology is able to endow a person with the ability to succeed. It grants uncanny knowledge, heightened intuition, extraordinary skills, amazing physical abilities and accomplishments, etc. Those abilities come in exchange for denying God, discarding the need for Jesus Christ, trampling on the Holy Spirit, and excluding God’s people. It empowers humanism, which is the clothing worn by the mark of the beast. In a similar way, Jospeh was blessed by God and the worldly government saw how everything prospered that Joseph did. The Egyptian soldier decided to take advantage of Joseph’s talents, “And his master saw that the Lord was with him and that the Lord made all he did to prosper in his hand. So Joseph found favor in his sight, and served him. Then he made him overseer of his house, and all that he had he put in his hand.” Genesis 39:3-4
All through history, favor has been shown to God through Jesus Christ for his ability to prosper nations. America is an example, being a nation founded on a Godly heritage and with churches on every street corner. American history books once recorded the rich favor God had shown to this land of plenty. Today, there has been a great falling away from the favor of God, and lawlessness abounds on the world, “Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts itself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that it sits in the temple of God, showing itself that it is God.” 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4
Like with Joseph, God shows favor for the sake of Jesus Christ. God would have destroyed this world for choosing to reject Him while embracing captivity to sin. There is only one reason that any of us has been spared, for the sake of His beloved Son, Jesus Christ. The goodness of this world is from God and the followers of Jesus Christ are the salt of the earth, which preserves this world from all-out tribulation. Like the Holy Spirit said concerning Joseph, “So it was, from the time that he had made him overseer of his house and all that he had, that the Lord blessed the Egyptian’s house for Joseph’s sake; and the blessing of the Lord was on all that he had in the house and in the field.” Genesis 39:5 Even today, the offer still stands that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life. As the blessings of God are increasingly taken out of this world, we progressively trot towards global destruction. Today, everything is left in the hands of Jesus Christ, and judgment comes through Him. Those who govern this world through the mark of the beast has no idea where their balance sheet stands with God, “Thus he left all that he had in Joseph’s hand, and he did not know what he had except for the bread which he ate.” Genesis 39:6. But the followers of Jesus Christ have a preview into tomorrow’s balance sheet, “So I looked, and behold, a black horse, and he who sat on it had a pair of balances in his hand. And I heard a voice in the midst of the four living creatures saying, “A quart of wheat for a day’s wage, and three quarts of barley for a day’s wages; and do not harm the oil and the wine.” Revelation 6:5-6
“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,“
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
“I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25, 3:11
