Prayer for a good conscience and to live honorably. “Pray for us; for we are confident that we have a good conscience, in all things desiring to live honorably.Hebrews 13:18

I believe that having a good conscience in this anti-Christian world is something to be thankful to God for. There are so many things thrown at us by the thing which forms thoughts, emotions, feelings, words, and behaviors that could very easily cloud the goodness of God within us. It enables the image of the beast to live and speak through a person and seems to throw every dishonorable thing at us to establish our body as its seat of government. People who welcome it are conformed to their place in life, they are conformed to their mark in life as they are groomed to the mark of the beast. As followers of the Lord Jesus Christ, we want to have a good conscience and to live honorably in this world. I remember singing this song in Sunday school,

1-2-3 the devil’s after me.
4-5-6 he’s always throwing sticks.
7-8-9 he misses every time.
Hallelujah, hallelujah, I’m saved!
9-8-7 I’m on my way to heaven.
6-5-4 Jesus is knocking on the door.
3-2-1 the devil’s on the run.
Hallelijah, hallelujah, I’m saved!

By the blood of Jesus Christ, the devil is on the run, hallelujah I’m free from sin and I stand honorably before God with a good conscience.

We who have victory in Jesus Christ desire fellowship with other followers of Jesus. Those are the prayers we have within the quiet places of our soul and those prayers are encouraged by the Holy Spirit, “But I especially urge you to do this, that I may be restored to you very soon.” Hebrews 13:19 When a neighbor moves out, within my soul I quietly pray for a follower of Jesus Christ to move in (which never happens), and I welcome prayers for the restoration of Christian fellowship. Today, the body of Christ is scattered and separated, and my mind, heart, and prayers are with the few and faithful Believers everywhere. Until then, God continues to disclose the voice that I hear to keep my conscience clear and honorable,

“I come to the garden alone,
while the dew is still on the roses,

and the voice I hear falling on my ear
the Son of God discloses.”

Sanctification through the Good Shepherd Jesus Christ.

“Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep,
through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make you perfect in every good work to do His will,
working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.”
Hebrews 13:20-21

By the blood of Jesus Christ, our body has been converted into the Church of the Holy Spirit and He is our minister. He helps us to respond to the tricks of the devil with sanctified responses of Holiness that sets us apart from the way the world responds to unwanted circumstances. “Through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make you perfect in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ.” He helps us to lock away in a box the trickster that induces feelings that are hateful, cruel, and hostile.

“Satan Is A Sly Old Fox,
If I Had Him
I’d Put Him In A Box
Lock The Box And Throw Away The Key
For All Those Tricks He’s Played On Me.
I’m Glad I’ve Got Salvation
I’m Glad I’ve Got Salvation
I’m Glad I’ve Got Salvation
I’m Trusting In The Lord.”

Satan’s tricks are designed to make us dead to Christ, but even in the face of death, the God of peace is able to raise each one of us back to life to live for Him through Jesus Christ. We do not have to be locked in the box of sin, that box is reserved for the trickster Satan with special delivery to the eternal lake of fire. The followers of Jesus Christ will also be raised to eternal life, literally just like the Lord Jesus was. Jesus is the Great Shepherd, and we are the sheep who hear His voice, and we will follow Him from Salvation all the way to the New Jerusalem. “Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep…” Eternal glory belongs to Christ Jesus, “to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.”

Bonding with Fellow Believers.

“Brothers and sisters, I urge you to receive this message of exhortation, for I have written to you briefly.
Be aware that our brother Timothy has been set free. If he comes soon enough, he will be with me when I see you.
Greet all your leaders and all the saints. Those who are from Italy send you greetings. Grace be with you all.”
Hebrews 13:22-25

There is no greater desire than one Holy Spirit filled person desiring to have fellowship with another Holy Spirit filled person. There is nothing more we want than to live a life pleasing to God through Jesus Christ.

“Roll the gospel chariot along
We will roll the gospel chariot along
We will roll the gospel chariot along
And we won’t lag on behind. If a Brother’s on the way
We will stop and pick him up
If a Brother’s on the way
We will stop and pick him up
If a Brother’s on the way
We will stop and pick him up
And we won’t lag on behind.”

“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25
, 3:11
