Set Apart by the Eternal Spirit of God through Jesus Christ

1 Peter 1:13-25

It’s important to keep our mind focused on the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the Salvation of eternal life that He brings to us. This will keep us separated from those who live for money, possessions, and sensual pleasures. The Holy Spirit doesn’t engage in those things and it’s the Holy Spirit who lives in us. Even then, we are reverent to those around us, and we do not engage in rude and hostile behaviors. Our faith is in God through Jesus Christ. The reverence we show for all people is not from a love for the world, our love comes from the Holiness of God’s love. When the love of this world dies, the love of God is eternal. We will all pass away, but those who die in Christ will have eternal life, and those who die in their sin will have eternal torment.

Focus Fully on Being Set Apart for God.

“As obedient children, do not be conformed to the desires of your former ignorance.”

I want every process of my mind to be filled with the juices that flow through the Word of God, I want to comply with the Holy Spirit who spoke this, “…gird up the loins of your mind.” All of my hope has to be on the grace that brings eternal life to me through Jesus Christ. The hope I have guides me to set myself apart from the activities in this world. The Holy Spirit does not participate in sin, and this world is filled with sin by living for humanism empowered by the mark of the beast. They refuse to acknowledge a need for Jesus Christ, and they do not believe God. If I am to be the Church of the Holy Spirit, then I must embrace the Holiness of God because He is Holiness.

“Therefore, gird up the loins of your mind, be sober,
and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; 
As obedient children, do not be conformed to the desires of your former ignorance
but as the one who called you is Holy you also are to be Holy in all your conduct. because it is written, 
“Be Holy, for I am Holy.”

We are Redeemed by Christ not Human Endowments.

“If you appeal to the Father who judges impartially according to each one’s work, 
you are to conduct yourselves in reverence.”

We live in communities that have no need for the followers of Jesus Christ, and really, they have no need for anyone other than their own Christless family. People are put off by the cold shoulder, causing rebellion and violence to sprout up everywhere nowadays, but followers of Jesus are to set ourselves apart from that. We are strangers in this world, but we are to behave with reverence, “If you appeal to the Father who judges impartially according to each one’s work, you are to conduct yourselves in reverence during your time living as strangers.” The majority of people in cities around the world live for money, possessions, sensual comforts, and physiological enhancements, but those are not the things that Salvation is made of. Uncanny thoughts and heightened intuition are not going to bring salvation to this world, and neither are extraordinary skills, amazing physical ability and accomplishments, nor artificial emotions. Jesus Christ is our Salvation who is the Holy Lamb of God.

“If you appeal to the Father who judges impartially according to each one’s work,

knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, 
like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, 
but with the precious blood of Christ, like a lamb without blemish and without spot.”
1 Peter 1:17-19

We Believe in the Christ Who Exists from Before the Foundations of the World.

“God, who raised Him from the dead and gave Him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.”

Jesus Christ has been around much longer than the thing that governs through the mark of the beast. The thing that has power over physiology came into existence through the process of WW2. Jesus Christ has existed before the foundation of this world and is part of the God trio of God the Father, God the Holy Spirit, and God the Son (Jesus). Satan tries to imitate that trinity through Satan, the beast, and the false prophet (known as the second beast in Revelation 13:11). That Christless trinity works through the mark of the beast. Jesus Christ is the only one whom the Bible designates as the Savior of the world and has been designated as the Lamb of God since Genesis and throughout the Bible. Through Jesus Christ we believe in the God who raised Him from the dead. Jesus is glorified by God the Father so belief in Him puts our faith and hope squarely in God.

“He indeed was foreordained before the foundation of the world but was revealed in these last times
for you who through Him believe in God, who raised Him from the dead and gave Him glory,
so that your faith and hope are in God.”
1 Peter 1:20-21

Unhypocritical Love through the Word of God.

“Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit in unhypocritical love of the brethren,
love one another fervently with a pure heart, having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, 
through the word of God which lives and abides forever.”
1 Peter 1:22-23

A lot of talk about love and support comes from community leaders, as well as state and federal politicians, but it is not from a purified soul. Their love and support are not from the eternal Word of God but from the love of a perishing world. They use churchy sounding words from the practice of humanism, but they operate through the mark of the beast which denies God’s Divine love, rejects the need for Jesus Christ, and tramples on the Holy Spirit. They are very hypocritical, like referring to the killing of the unborn as “reproductive rights,” or “planned parenthood.” We know that abortion has nothing to do with reproducing life nor does it apply to parenthood. I mentioned God’s love to my sister and her exact reply was, “I will love you for eternity RNew.” She is speaking from a corruptible love not from God’s eternal love. Not only is she hypocritical from what I experience from her, but she is also blasphemous. As followers of Jesus Christ, our love comes through the eternal and incorruptible Word of God, which is rejected by the masses who live for this Christless world.

As followers of Jesus Christ, we are born again, meaning that we have left the sin that we were born into and have been born through the Spirit of Jesus Christ. The incorruptible Holy Spirit lives in us to make us the Church of the Holy Spirit. His Holiness guides us to be set apart from the corruptible love of this world. While the world rejects God’s love, we will love fellow Believers with a sincere, incorruptible, and purified love. Through the Word of God, we have the promise of eternal life from God’s love.

The Earth and Humanity Perishes but the Word of God Endures Forever.

“All flesh is as grass, And all the glory of man as the flower of the grass.
The grass withers, and its flower falls away, But the word of the Lord endures forever.”
1 Peter 1:24-25

One thing that those who embrace humanism will agree on is that people are nothing more than grass that will wither away. According to the thing that governs by the mark of the beast, they despise the thought of eternal life and believe the Word of God is already extinct. They are hypocritical in that train of thought as well because they expect this world’s system to last forever. The thing that has power over physiology continues on from one generation to the next, but they deny the possibility of eternal life for everyone else. Even then, their eternity comes to an end within the global tribulation. As followers of Jesus Christ, we believe there is life after we wither away and return to the dust. A day is coming when the dead in Christ will rise from the grave, and all Believers who are alive on this earth will rise with them to meet Jesus in the sky. That is the Word of God, and His word is eternal. “Now this is the word which by the Gospel was preached to you.“
