The Storm at Sea—Lifeboat broken, cargo and tackle thrown overboard

Gentle wind became a hurricane size storm.
“When a gentle south wind began to blow, they saw their opportunity; so, they weighed anchor and sailed along the shore of Crete. Before very long, a wind of hurricane force, called the Northeaster, swept down from the island. The ship was caught by the storm and could not head into the wind; so, we gave way to it and were driven along.” Acts 27:13-15 

In the picture below, we see the shoreline of Crete that the captain of the ship chose to follow.

In the previous post on Acts 27:9-12, a ship was boarded and began its course to arrive at the world capital. Paul was on that ship and warned the captain against sailing onward because of being in hurricane season. Paul was on that ship as a prisoner, and was being taken to Rome, the world capital, to face his final judgment and sentencing for preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Jewish leaders were responsible for the charges brought against him.

Although Paul, an experienced sailor, warned of sailing during hurricane season, the captain, pilot, and owner of the ship ignored Paul’s warning. So, when a gentle wind began to blow, the operators of the ship saw this as the opportunity to sail on. They raised the anchor and began to sail along the shoreline of Crete. Very shortly after, a hurricane strength wind was blowing against the ship. The ship was not able to maneuver through the wind and was forced to allow the wind to drive it along.

As followers of Jesus Christ, we warn about the storms that are coming against the establishment of the one world government and its global culture. The global government is established through the goals of the United Nations. The warnings are given as mentioned in the events of the Seven Trumpets of Revelation 8, 9, 11 and of the Seven Plagues of Revelation 16. A gentle wind began to blow in 1945 when the United Nations was formed right after WW2, and brought the government of the beast with it, as described in Daniel 8:1-14. In the gentle wind, the UN decided to seize the opportunity to sail forward in establishing the one world government. They raised the anchor, nothing holding them back, and onward they went.

Before very long, a wind of hurricane force began to fill the United Sates, Israel, and around the world. The United Nations voted to establish the State of Israel in 1947. When the State of Isreal was inaugurated in 1948, Israel has been in 18 wars, even a war in 1948. Click here for a list of those wars and scroll to the middle of the page. The conflict in Israel is being watched around the world through television, internet, etc. Why? Because it represents two main themes that the United Nations despise: politics and religion. In the process, peoples and nations around the world are becoming fed-up and riled by politics and religion. The goal of the United Nations, in becoming the one world government, is to eliminate all political and religious boundaries.

[As Christians, we know the Jewish people were gathered to Israel in 1948 as the place where God unleashes His judgment on them, Ezekiel 22:19-21. Jesus said, “See! Your house is left to you desolate; for I say to you, you shall see Me no more till you say, ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’” Matthew 23:38-39]

The global government and its global culture are established on the entity that lives within the thoughts, feelings, words, and behaviors of people everywhere. This entity sets in the temple of God, our body, as if it is God. This is the entity that makes itself more important than all religions, all politics, God, and anything called God. This is the one “…who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.” 2 Thessalonians 2:4 The “he” in this verse is the “man of sin”. In the United States, and around the world, exists the hurricane winds of violence, crime, illegal immigration tumult, economic woes, political turmoil, etc. Crime, violence, bloodshed, and killing are in every sector of society. The bloodshed is in the schools, churches, homes, the ranks of law-enforcement, in the rank of government officials, in restaurants, shopping malls, bars, festivals, in the open streets between passers-by, road rage, on hiking trails, in camping places, at birthday parties, and the list goes on. Television broadcasts routinely air “candlelight vigils”, which are actually nothing more than televised funeral services. Then there are the actual televised funeral processions of cars lined up for far distances as a casket of a law-enforcement officer, or other person, is carried to a resting place. People gather in protests against the violence, seeking for answers from community and government leaders as well as law-enforcement agencies.

The “hurricane winds” affect people and nations across the globe and cause them to seek solutions coming from community and government leaders, solutions echoing the agenda and goals of the United Nations. The turmoil of the “hurricane winds” within the cities, states, and nations are enabling the United Nations to market themselves as the powerbroker of peace and savior of the world. They are allowing themselves to be driven by the “hurricane winds” to propel them along in the course of being established as the one world government.

Today’s leaders set themselves up as if they are the Christ that will lead people and nations out of the storm and into an earthly Garden of Eden, “The land is like the Garden of Eden before them, and behind them a desolate wilderness…” Joel 2:3 The New Jerusalem doesn’t come in stages and there is no Garden of Eden that is coming in the year 2030, or any other established due date. The eternal Garden of Eden [the New Jerusalem] comes when Jesus Christ returns, and He comes like a flash of lightening, not through stages, riots, social storms, etc.

“Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There!’ do not believe it. For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. See, I have told you beforehand. “Therefore if they say to you, ‘Look, He is in the desert!’ do not go out; or ‘Look, He is in the inner rooms!’ do not believe it. For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.” Matthew 24:23-27

Lifeboat badly damaged and brought aboard the ship.
“As we passed to the lee of a small island called Cauda, we were hardly able to make the lifeboat secure, so the men hoisted it aboard. Then they passed ropes under the ship itself to hold it together. Because they were afraid that they would run aground on the sandbars of Syrtis, they lowered the sea anchor and let the ship be driven along.” Acts 27:16-17

On the map to the left Cauda is seen south of Phoenix and west of Fair Havens. On the map to the right, you can see where Cauda is in relations to the entire journey to Rome. Cauda is off the shore of Crete at the very western tip.

The “ship”, which is the world we live in today, is being battered by “hurricane strength winds”, beating it apart in the process of establishing the new world of the global government. It’s “Out with the old and in with the new”. In the turbulence of this world, there seems to be no shelter from the exposure of death and all types of insecurities, including through pandemics [such as COVID-19]. There is a cliche that says, “Stop the world, I want to get off!” Unfortunately, it is fairly obvious that the “lifeboat” is not secure and is badly broken by the storms. We hear constantly how the lifeboat of health care system is broken, the lifeboat of law enforcement is broken, the lifeboat of fire department is broken, the lifeboat of ambulances services is broken, etc.

The storm-battered “lifeboat” is being brought aboard the “ship”. It is brought aboard by the crew of the “ship”, the crew being those who operate the agencies and services of today’s culture. Those who live and govern for today’s atheistic culture have taken control of society’s lifelines. More or less, they decide who receives a lifeline in today’s storm-battered world. These lifelines consist of police, fire department, and ambulance response time. There is the cliche that goes “where is a cop when you need one!”, which applies to all the lifeboats of society. Not to mention the innumerable programs to help those being battered by the storms in this life. The community “lifeboats” decide who succeed in the programs. While the storm rages in cities around the world, those who find a place in the battered “lifeboat” are those who participate in the goals of establishing a new world on earth. To push out the old and bring in the new.

Those in the storm-battered community lifeboat are those who are guided by the atheistic entity that gives them what to do, say, feel, and think. This entity gives life to the image of the beast to speak and live through people as they are groomed to the mark of the beast by what they are given to say and do.

The Lifeboat is also our Lord Jesus Christ who is the Savior of the world. His Gospel has been severely battered by the turbulence of this world, so much so that the truth of His sacrifice on the Cross for the forgiveness of sin has been broken apart. So has the truth of His resurrection and ascension into Heaven. This atheistic culture has commandeered the battered word of God to give them an image of Godliness, but they deny the power of the Gospel of Christ [2 Timothy 3:5]. This describes the beast with two horns like a lamb, which is Satan’s version of the Holy Spirit and known as the wolf in sheep clothing.

The captain, pilot, owner, and crew of the ship were afraid that they would run aground in the sandbars, which were like quicksand. In order to avoid that from happening, they lowered the big anchor and continued to be driven along by the stormy winds. In today’s culture, the community and government leaders do not want to be buried by the same “hurricane winds” that are propelling forward the establishment of the one global government. In other words, the same leaders [politicians] who use the turbulence of the world to promote their global agenda are the same ones who dare not be pulled down with their “constituents”. They have dropped anchor to avoid being drug down into the quicksand but still allows the stormy winds to blow to be driven towards the accomplishment of the global agenda. In America, the politicians use the term, “Make good trouble” on the left hand, and on the right hand the politicians say, “Fight, fight, fight.” Both sides are stirring the turbulent “hurricane force winds” that are propelling change.

Our Lord Jesus Christ said, “For they bind heavy burdens, hard to bear, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers. But all their works they do to be seen by men. They make their phylacteries broad and enlarge the borders of their garments. They love the best places at feasts, the best seats in the synagogues, greetings in the marketplaces…” Matthew 23:4-7

Jesus says, “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30

Cargo and tackle thrown overboard and despair and hopelessness sets in.
“We took such a violent battering from the storm that the next day they began to throw the cargo overboard. On the third day, we threw the ship’s tackle overboard with our own hands. When neither sun nor stars appeared for many days and the storm continued raging, we finally gave up all hope of being saved.” Acts 27:18-20

The ship was so battered by the hurricane strength winds that it was hardly able to float anymore. Those on the ship had to throw all their cargo overboard. This would include anything they brought with them and anything else on the ship that wasn’t part of the ship itself. A couple days later, the ship was still having difficulties in staying afloat, so all the ship’s tackle had to be thrown overboard. By making the ship lighter, staying afloat would be easier.

Tackle includes anything needed to make the ship operational. For example, fishing tackle includes the rod and reels, hooks, sinkers, lures, stringers, and of course the tackle box. Without the tackle, there is no fishing, and without the tackle of a ship it becomes impossible to maneuver. On top of that, the skies were covered with the darkness of night and the storm clouds, preventing the sun and stars from sharing their light, and the storms continued to rage. This makes it very easy to understand how everyone on the ship lost all hope of ever being saved.

People and cities around the world are exposed to a violent battering from the “hurricane strength winds” mentioned in the previous post called, Gentle wind became a hurricane size storm. This involves the storms of illegal immigration, crime, violence, economic, and turbulence of every type. With that, the lifeboats are severely damaged as well, as mentioned in the previous post called, Lifeboat badly damaged and brought aboard the ship. This includes the broken effectiveness of the healthcare industries, broken law enforcement, broken fire department, broken emergency services, etc. This also includes the brokenness of the churches in sharing the Salvation of Jesus Christ. Things seem hopeless in the darkness of this storm-battered world.

The peoples and nations of the world are having trouble staying “afloat”.

The solutions coming from community and government leaders to “stay afloat” are echoing the agenda and goals of the United Nations. The turmoil of the “hurricane winds” within the cities, states, and nations are enabling the United Nations to market themselves as the power broker of peace and savior of the world.

What is the cargo the nations must throw overboard to stay “afloat” while conforming to the agenda of the United Nations to be the one global government? Basically, cargo is anything that involves personal or private ownership, especially those considered to be luxury items and excesses, especially cargo of wealth. The goals of the United Nations are called the “Sustainable Development Goals”, which means to sustain nations by supplying necessities. The global government becomes the supplier to all nations whereby the demand of the population is not important. Cargo becomes much more scarce as demand is quieted and government becomes the supplier. This is the plan to lighten the global “ship” to enable peoples and nations to stay “afloat”.

Cargo also includes cash! Cash is already being “thrown overboard” by ushering in crypto currency [digital currency]. This is referred to as the, cashless society! In July of 2025, the president of the United States signed into law an order to establish the framework to prepare America for the digital currency and away from cash. The cashless society will make it much more difficult to buy and demand cargo but will facilitate the supply coming from the hand of the government. Cash is rightly said to be the root of all evil, and by throwing it overboard it is believed that the global “ship” will be able to stay “afloat”. However, by clicking the link above on the “GENIUS” Act, we see how the digital currency leads to more unGodliness, not less.

As nations throw their cargo overboard, they are also expected to throw their tackle overboard as well. The tackle of a nation is basically the economic infrastructure, governing framework, the constitution of the land, religious institutions, etc. Nations are expected to throw their economic machine into the hands of the global economy. Nations are expected to restructure its governing framework to accommodate the global government, which means to diminish the two-party system to conform to one political party, one form of government, which is the global government. Nations are expected to conform their national constitution and laws to the constitution and laws of the United Nations. Nations are expected to throw their religious beliefs overboard, which includes rejecting the Living God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. The goal of the United Nations is to eliminate the tackle of political and religious boundaries to lighten the global “ship” and make itself the only political party and to replace all religions.

The global government governs by the entity that exalts itself above all things, all nations, all people, and all that is called God. This is the one who sets within the temple of God, our body, as if it is God. This is possible because the atheistic entity has the power to give people what to think, feel, say, and do. Under the authority of the one world government, this is definitely going to be a time of scarcity and austerity for every city, state, and nation across the globe. The global “ship” is being lightened under the pretense of keeping the peoples and nations “afloat”. People will definitely feel the pinch while living under a dark cloud, with little hope of seeing the spiritual sun of a bright day or seeing the spiritual twinkle of the stars at night. For many days the “storm” will continue. The government of the beast definitely wants to shut out the Light of the World, who is our Lord Jesus Christ. When the United Nations comes into absolute and undisputed power as the one world government, then there will be a “half hour” of silence in heaven before the events of the Seven Trumpets begin. This is described in Revelation 8. That “half hour” of silence is a period of peace and tranquility for the global government before everything begins to go wrong.

Our Lord Jesus Christ says, “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Matthew 6:19-21

Should listen to warnings of the Bible and to keep our faith in Christ for eternal life.
“After they had gone a long time without food, Paul stood up before them and said: “Men, you should have taken my advice not to sail from Crete; then you would have spared yourselves this damage and loss. But now I urge you to keep up your courage, because not one of you will be lost; only the ship will be destroyed.” Acts 27:21-22

The passengers on the storm-battered ship had gone a long time without anything to eat. Their attention was on surviving the storm. If they would have listened to Paul, and not started the journey to the world capital [Rome], they would have spared themselves the damage and loss that they suffered. But since they were in that storm-battered condition, Paul encouraged everyone to keep their courage. Only the ship would be destroyed but human lives would be spared.

The journey to the world capital to establish the one global government through the United Nations began in 1945, as described in Daniel 8:1-14 as well as in Revelations 17. Since this journey began, the storm winds began to blow which affect peoples and nations across the globe. These “storms” are driving peoples and nations to the agenda of the United Nations as the source of their salvation. As followers of Jesus Christ, we have always warned of the perils that come through the government of the beast and its atheistic culture. The message is this, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!” Revelations 7:10 Like Paul, we encourage everyone to keep their courage and to trust in the Living God. Our lord Jesus says, “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30

The previous posts of Acts 27:13-20 describe the storm-battered condition of peoples and nations everywhere. Succinctly, the people and nations are barely able to stay “afloat” socially and economically. Simultaneously, the word of God is ignored, and Jesus is rejected as the Christ and Savior of the world. In those conditions, the peoples and nations are driven to the world capital of the one world government.

Peoples and nations are physically wearied in this battered world, and hunger is part of that weariness. As we know today, the term, “food insecurity” is popular in the United States and we constantly hear about the hunger and starvation of war battered countries around the globe. Not to mention hunger as a result of poverty. This causes the focus of countries to be driven towards the world capital of the United Nations as their savior and provider of food. Also, there is spiritual hunger as the Gospel of Christ is driven into extinction, as described in Revelation 12. The message of the Cross is not being heard, which is that Jesus is the Christ and Savior of the world.

There is life in the Spirit and eternal life for everyone through Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit is the guarantee of our inheritance in the New Jerusalem, in the new heaven and earth, “In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.” Ephesians 1:13-14 As followers of Jesus Christ, we are His “purchased possession”, purchased by the blood He shed on the Cross to atone for our sin. The redemption is not just our born-again experience but is the eternal redemption of this earthly body to an eternal body.

Judged by this world but our faith is in the word of God.
“Last night an Angel of the God to whom I belong and whom I serve stood beside me and said, ‘Do not be afraid, Paul. You must stand trial before Caesar; and God has graciously given you the lives of all who sail with you.’ So keep up your courage, men, for I have faith in God that it will happen just as he told me. Nevertheless, we must run aground on some island.” Acts 27:23-26

The storm-battered ship could hardly stay afloat, and all of the excess weight of the ship’s cargo and tackle had to be thrown overboard Acts 27:18-20. All hope for survival was lost. At this time, an Angel of the God of Jesus Christ, whom Paul served, came to him with a little encouragement. The life of everyone sailing with Paul would be saved because Paul had to stand trial in the court of Caesar, at the world capital of Rome. That was the ship’s destination. However, the ship would run aground at a place called, Malta!

As followers of Jesus Christ, we are living in the days when the “ship” of peoples and nations around the world are being storm-battered by “hurricane strength winds”. With all of the crime, violence, economic woes, illegal immigration, etc., peoples and nations are having difficulty in staying “afloat” socially and economically. All of this is happening as peoples and nations are being driven towards the global government of the United Nations that promises to be the Christ and savior of the world. They promise an earthly Garden of Eden, “The land is like the Garden of Eden before them, and behind them a desolate wilderness; Surely nothing shall escape them.” Joel 2:3 The god they serve is the entity that replaces the conscience and spirit to give people what to think, say, feel, and do.

As followers of Jesus Christ, we serve the Living God, who speaks to us through His Gospel and by the presence of the Holy Spirit. He says to us, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16 This is the hope that we share with those on this storm-battered planet. As followers of Jesus Christ, we know that Christianity is being and will be judged by the standards of this atheistic world. After the United Nations has come into its full powers as the one world government, and all nations become states under a one world constitution, Christians will suffer harshly.

We are to have courage because all that is happening in this world has been foretold just as God and Jesus Christ has revealed to us in the Bible and by the Holy Spirit in us. This is a guarantee that a home awaits us in the New Jerusalem in the new heaven and earth. For example, global warming is here and is the Fourth Plague of Revelations 16:8-9, “The fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and the sun was allowed to scorch people with fire. They were seared by the intense heat, and they cursed the name of God, who had control over these plagues, but they refused to repent and glorify him.” Revelation 16:8-9 The more powerful the United Nations become as the one world government, the hotter and more intense the effects of global warming become.

As more encouragement of the truth of the word of God, the “ship” of peoples and nations of this world makes a final stop at “Malta!” before arriving to the one world government by the agenda and goals of the United Nations. Malta is the description of an atheistic culture of humanism as described in the posts on Acts 28:1-10 along with an introduction to, Malta! This atheistic culture of humanism is the last stop before arriving to the one world government. Today, peoples and nations have their feet on “Malta’s” sandy shores.

Humanism is the fig leaf worn by those who serve the atheistic entity that replaces the conscience and sprit by giving people what to think, feel say, and do. Humanism is “An outlook or system of thought attaching prime importance to human rather than divine or supernatural matters. Humanist beliefs stress the potential value and goodness of human beings, emphasize common human needs, and seek solely rational ways of solving human problems.” The entity that causes people to wear humanism as a fig leaf gives life to the image of the beast to speak and live through people, and by what they say and do we fall under their judgment. These are those who have, “…a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away…” 2 Timothy 3:5 This also describes the beast with two horns like a lamb, as described in Revelation 13:11-12.

Our Lord Jesus Christ says this to us, “I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:20

Those who were killed for the testimony of Jesus Christ were in Heaven asking God how long it would be before He avenged their deaths. The Lord answered that many more will be killed as they were, for the sake of the Gospel of Christ, and when that is completed, then He will avenge all of their deaths.  “When He opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the testimony which they held. And they cried with a loud voice, saying, “How long, O Lord, holy and true, until You judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?” Then a white robe was given to each of them; and it was said to them that they should rest a little while longer, until both the number of their fellow servants and their brethren, who would be killed as they were, was completed. Revelations 6:9-11

With Paul, who was beheaded in Rome at the command of the Roman Emperor Nero [at about the age of 60], there is a crown of life awaiting us who remain faithful to Jesus Christ, “For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.” 2 Timothy 4:6-8

Jesus says to us, “Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves…You will be brought before governors and kings for My sake, as a testimony to them and to the Gentiles…Now brother will deliver up brother to death, and a father his child; and children will rise up against parents and cause them to be put to death. And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved.” Matthew 10:16, 18, 21-22.

Jesus says, “Most assuredly, I say to you that you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice; and you will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will be turned into joy.” John 16:20

With Paul we say, “For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.” Romans 8:18
