Equipped for the Journey to Eternal Life

2 Peter 1:3-11

I have the Bible to read, and I have the awareness of what is happening within my thoughts and emotions. Those two things are keeping me on the path to receive the promise of eternal life. To be more precise, I have the testimony of Jesus Christ, which I read about in the Bible, and I have the Holy Spirit who helps me to sort out my thoughts and feelings. Being on track for eternal life is to be off-track with the agenda of this world. I reject the internal presence of the thing that is able to form emotions and thoughts against the Gospel of Christ. I reject the mark of the beast to make room for the Word of God within my thoughts and feelings.

Equipped to Live a Godly Life.
God wants us to be molded into the image of Jesus Christ. Simply put, God pulls us from the momentum of this world to set us apart to live according to the virtues of the Bible. Today, that means being set apart from the sensual stimulation that desensitizes us to the Gospel of Christ. The thing that has power over physiology uses its ability to form emotions and thoughts to motivate us through sensual prodding. That includes heightened intuition, uncanny knowledge, extraordinary skills, great feelings, youthfulness, healings, etc. What it doesn’t include are Godly virtues. People around the world lust for those fleshly benefits because it gives them authority and social inclusion. Christian virtues are kissed bye-bye. They not just live for the mark of the beast, but they lust after it.

God has given us everything that pertains to what brings virtue, life, and Godliness. Through the Bible, which is the testimony of Jesus Christ, and through the help of the Holy Spirit, we are able to escape the corruption that is in this world. Our thoughts and emotions desire to be filled with Godly virtue and not with the lusts that come through the thing that intrudes on thoughts and emotions. God calls us to virtue by the knowledge that we have through Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. Virtue is something that almost sounds ancient in this Godless world of today. One of the greatest and most precious promise that we can be given is the forgiveness of sin that gives eternal life for the immortality of the soul.

“According as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and Godliness,
through the knowledge of Him that has called us to glory and virtue:
Whereby are given to us exceeding great and precious promises:
that by these you might be partakers of the divine nature,
having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.”
2 Peter 1-3-4

Fruitful in the Knowledge of Jesus Christ.
As I read the Bible while keeping track on my thoughts and emotions, virtue will be added. The Holy Spirit will add that virtue through my faith in the testimony of Jesus Christ as I read the Scriptures. Within that virtue, knowledge will be added which is very much different than the Godless knowledge given by the thing that is able to form thoughts. When we have virtue and knowledge, we will be moderate and patient when it comes to sensual impositions. It requires moderation and patience to get us through the times when emotions are enflamed against Godly virtues. Faith, virtue, knowledge, moderation and patience leads to Godly living. When we begin living a Godly life then we can experience kindness and charity to others. The kindness and charity in this world today have nothing to do with the path to eternal life, it has an unGodly purpose to create utopia on earth. They do not believe in the immortality of the soul, which is what eternal life through Jesus Christ is all about.

Those who live by the thoughts, emotions, and behaviors of the thing that has power over physiology have been blinded. They are living by the mark of the beast and have no faith in God at all and don’t even come close to getting virtue. They cannot see past their own sensuality because they discard the Bible and the Holy Spirit. The idea of being purged from sin is far from their thoughts and emotions. Those who live for the Gospel of Jesus Christ will abound in the fruitfulness of our Lord Jesus Christ.

“And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience Godliness;
And to Godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you
that you will neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
But he that lacks these things is blind, and cannot see afar off,
and has forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.”
2 Peter 1:5-9

Diligent On the Path to Eternal Life.
Diligence on the path to eternal life involves having a Bible, living in the presence of the Holy Spirit, and being aware of what we are thinking, feeling, and doing. Diligence comes by reading about the testimony of Jesus Christ and allowing the Holy Spirit to guard what we think, feel, and do. The thing that has power over emotions and thoughts can make us feel guilty about every unGodly thing that is felt or thought. But God’s grace allows us to continue on living for Jesus Christ to share the Gospel. Grace will give us the diligence to continue on the path to eternal life which is promised for the immortality of the soul. We will have an entrance into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

“Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure:
for if you do these things, you will never fall:
For so an entrance will be ministered to you abundantly
into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.”
2 Peter 1:10-11

“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,“
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
“I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25, 3:11
