When unGodly Grandma fights with unGodly Grandson

I heard some shouting, and I recognized the voice as the neighbor lady. She is in her 70’s. I heard her say things, in a very loud, harsh, and angry tone, “Why would you leave me all alone in the hot sun that way?!” She kept going on in the same aggressive argumentative tone, “And you took my belongings when you left and $50.00” She was practically screaming some other things before she subsided. After she subsided, her grandson (in his 20’s) spouted something off to provoke her into another short and angry verbal attack.

These are evil times that we live in where families are full of hostility and violence towards each other. The Grandma has spoken to me several times, and she is hostile to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. When she sees me from a distance she will say “God” in a very harsh and oppositional way. When I heard her arguing with her Grandson I thought, “The unGodly are killing each other.” I decided I would be ready to call 9-1-1 if the argument escalated and let them sort out their own mess. After the grandson antagonized his grandma one last time, he rode off on his bicycle.

These are the times when there is hostility to human decency, there seems to be none left from one person to the next. Jesus Christ is not wanted in their life, the Holy Spirit is being grieved, and God is being blasphemed. Those who govern by the mark of the beast are having a field day in its ability to kindle fires. Those fires are especially kindled against those who live for the testimony of Jesus Christ. Even still, I continue on in the Spirit of Jesus Christ and lift up the banner of the Gospel where I can.

What would have happened if I tried to politely intervene myself into the squabble? It probably would have escalated into a very ugly scene, as if Satan setting me up to be a victim of violence. Christian persecution happens on many different levels, but that’s what 9-1-1 is for, when it works. This time I didn’t have to use it, but in the Spirit of Jesus Christ, in the peace of God, I will do what I can to alleviate the hostility in this world. People need the Lord Jesus Christ.
