Death of Jesus Christ

Luke 23:44-49

“It was now about noon, and darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon,
for the sun stopped shining.
And the curtain of the temple was torn in two.
Jesus called out with a loud voice,
“Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.”
When He had said this, He breathed His last.”
Luke 23:44-46

The death of Jesus Christ was God’s plan for the atonement of sin for humanity, and Jesus gave His life willingly to fulfil that plan. On the Cross, Jesus made it clear that His life wasn’t taken from Him but was given by Him. By His own will He said, “Father, into your hands I commit my Spirit.”

The whole purpose of the coming of Jesus, and the total plan of God is to tear the curtain of the temple in two. The curtain served as a wall that blocked individual fellowship with God, and only the assigned human priests were allowed to pass through the curtain. The earthly priests would intercede for the sin of the people. Now that the curtain is torn, anyone can come into the presence of God for the forgiveness of sin through Jesus Christ. Jesus is now the Priest that enters through the curtain. The death that Christ died on the Cross opened the door for the atonement of sin through His Blood. The moment the curtain tore, John 3:16 became active, “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.”

Today is a very dark time around the world. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is hanging on the Cross and the mark of the beast is being served as God. The torn curtain has been entered by the thing that has power over physiology and is able to form thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. As the Salvation plan of God is put to death in this world, things will continue to deteriorate. The environmental aspects around the world are dissolving and so are people-to-people interactions.

“The centurion, seeing what had happened, praised God and said,
“Surely this was a righteous man.”
When all the people who had gathered to witness this sight saw what took place,
they beat their breasts and went away.
But all those who knew Him, including the women who had followed Him from Galilee,
stood at a distance, watching these things.”
Luke 23:47-49

All through the betrayal and crucifixion of Jesus Christ, the leaders and guards over the people set an example for ridiculing, mocking, and putting Christ to death. That is seeing once again as the centurion (a soldier in charge of 100 soldiers) praises God and then says, “Surely this was a righteous man.” Then, all the other people “beat their breasts and went away.” I’ve actually seen eulogies given of people who professed Christianity. The eulogies were full of praise of what a righteous person the deceased was, and the whole crowd say their amens of agreement. In reality, the same ones giving the eulogies and saying the amens sent the person to their grave with all the conflict and grief given to them. But those who know Christ, those who know those who have died in Christ, stand at a distance watching. We who know God and live for the testimony of Jesus Christ want no part of mockery against God. We stand in the distance of the blasphemous eulogies and amens.

“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25
, 3:1
