“When the hour came, Jesus and His apostles reclined at the table.
And He said to them,
“I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer.
For I tell you, I will not eat it again until it finds fulfillment in the kingdom of God.“
Luke 22:14-16
Jesus wants to eat the Passover with me, as a way for me to remember that He gave His body and shed His blood to make atonement for my sin. I can do that at home by buying grape juice and unleavened (no yeast) bread at Kroger’s. Communion wafers can also be bought. When a believer eats the bread of His body and drinks the wine of His blood, then the believer can be expected to share in His sufferings. There will be the spilling of blood by Christians who hold to the testimony of Jesus Christ. Christians are silently dying today at the hands of the psychotic “lamb” of those who live for the mark of the beast. These are times of hostility towards the Spirit of Jesus Christ. It is said, “If the world hates you, you know that it hated me before it hated you.” John 15:18. Satan works through the mark of the beast to destroy everything that God does through Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit.
The Passover is the spreading of blood over the doorposts so that death will not touch the occupants of the house, Exodus 12:22-23. The Blood of Jesus is applied to my heart so that death passes over me to give me eternal life.
After taking the cup, He gave thanks and said,
“Take this and divide it among you. For I tell you I will not drink again
from the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes.”
And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying,
“This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.”
Luke 22:17-19
Although Jesus dies as the sacrificial lamb, He talks about His life in the Kingdom of God where that will be the next time He “drinks from the fruit of the vine”. That is also a time when all those who believe in Him will be invited to the wedding supper, “Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!” Revelation 19:9 Being alive in Heaven means He is also referring to His resurrection after His suffering. His suffering refers to His death on the Cross. From His death to His resurrection to eternal life is totally God’s plan. Those who wanted Christ dead didn’t count on His resurrection. No one took His life because He gave it as a sacrifice for the sin of whoever believes in Him. “No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from my Father.” John 10:18
“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,“
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
“I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25, 3:11
