Quite a while ago, I quit having dinner with family members. In fact, just an hour ago my sister called, and wanted to have a “sandwich” with me, I declined. This post explains why.
Some family members and I were talking about the horror of the multitudes of babies that die by being left in a hot car. They pretentiously agreed that it’s atrocious. So, guess what they order for dinner? “Baby back” spareribs. They even made sure to solicit my agreement to have “baby backs” for dinner. As they ate, they would look at me with a smirk and crunch on the “baby back” to spite my outrage at the death of babies in hot cars. They obviously attack the human sentiments that I feel through the Spirit of Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit says,
“If your brother or sister is distressed because of what you eat,
you are no longer acting in love.
Do not by your eating destroy someone for whom Christ died.”
Roman 14:15
The standard practice of those who live by the internal government of the mark of the beast is to destroy God’s people. Every one of us is someone that Jesus Christ died for, but they do everything they can to make people stumble and to put obstacles in the way. Although eating “baby back” spareribs is not wrong to do, in the context of the situation it was outright evil in the way the dinner was presented.
“Therefore, let us stop passing judgment on one another.
Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block
or obstacle in the way of a brother or sister.
I am convinced, being fully persuaded in the Lord Jesus, that nothing is unclean in itself.
But if anyone regards something as unclean, then for that person it is unclean.”
Romans 14:13-14
It’s as if the family considers my concern for the dying babies to be evil. In their mind, being human and living in the Spirit of Jesus Christ is not to their liking. In their warped sense of “goodness,” it is rewarding to them to discard decency within human sentiments. They spoke to me as if I just did something evil by eating the “baby backs,” but my feeling is still the same, it’s atrocious that so many babies die in hot cars. I won’t eat with them again because they want to speak evil of my goodness. By not eating with them, it’s a way for me to not let my goodness be spoken of as evil.
“Therefore, do not let what you know is good be spoken of as evil.”
Romans 14:16
It’s much easier to obtain human approval through the Spirit of Christ than what it will ever be to obtain the approval of those who live by the mark of the beast. Those who live by the mark do not relate to humanness because they follow the thing that has power over human physiology. It is able to form emotions and thoughts. Humanness is what allows the Spirit of Christ to enter our thoughts and emotions. The resurrection of Jesus Christ is a belief that exists in human hearts, and life in the Spirit of Jesus is more than eating and drinking. Instead of trying to destroy those who Christ died for, Christian fellowship is all about righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit. Sharing a meal with one another should be with peace, joy, and righteousness in the Holy Spirit.
A day is coming when each of us will give an account to God for the things we have done, and every knee will bow and tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.
“For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking,
but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit,
because anyone who serves Christ in this way is pleasing to God
and receives human approval.”
Romans 14:17-18
“You, then, why do you judge your brother or sister?
Or why do you treat them with contempt?
For we will all stand before God’s judgment seat.
It is written,
“‘As surely as I live,’ says the Lord, ‘every knee will bow before me;
every tongue will acknowledge God.’”
So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God.”
Romans 14:10-12
“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,“
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
“I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25, 3:11
