Earnest and not Meeting the Goal

“What then? Israel has not obtained what it seeks; but the elect have obtained it, and the rest were blinded. Just as it is written: “God has given them a spirit of stupor, eyes that they should not see and ears that they should not hear, to this very day.” And David says: “Let their table become a snare and a trap, a stumbling block and a recompense to them. Let their eyes be darkened, so that they do not see, and bow down their back always.” Romans 11:7-10

To this day, the Israelis still have not obtained the promised land that they have always sought for from the beginning of their existence. Even the establishment of the State of Israel in 1948 is not the land of milk of honey they look for. The promised land is in the New Jerusalem after the creation of a new heaven and new earth. That promised land is for all those who come to God through Jesus Christ. Unfortunately, the Jewish people reject the Lord Jesus as their Messiah and refuse to come to Him for the remission of sin. To this very day, they are blind and deaf to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Even today, this world is trying to build heaven on earth without God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. The present global system seems very earnest and sincere about their goals. They want a global family based on a global “democracy” where each individual is respected for who-they-are, human dignity, human respect, esteem, “democratic” rights, etc. It’s a world based on tolerance, mutual respect, world peace, and economic prosperity. They are relying on the inner presence that has power over physiology and can form thoughts, emotions, behaviors, words, and much more. It enables the image of the beast to live and speak through them and that is really what is being honored. By what they say and do, people are conformed to their place in life as they are conformed to the mark of the beast.

With all the talk of “democratic” rights and creating a global culture and heaven on earth, the need for Jesus Christ is thrown out, the Holy Spirit is blasphemed, and the existence of God is denied.

Instead of achieving earthly utopia, the “global democracy” has the sun’s intense heat to deal with. The sun is not cooperating because it is one of God’s judgments and is the Fourth Plague mentioned in Revelation 16:8-9. Along with that, there are serious drought issues, conflict with major global powers, and so much more. In all the earnestness of their human efforts, they are not obtaining their utopian goals. They have rejected the need for Jesus Christ, substituted the Holy Spirit for emotional and physical comfort, and serve the thing which forms thoughts, feelings, words, and behaviors as God. Their emotional and physical comforts don’t lead a person to Heaven, only Jesus can do that.

God has given those who operate by the thing giving them what to think, say, feel, and do a spirit of stupor, eyes that cannot see and ears that cannot hear. Their own plans for a utopian global culture are a snare, stumbling block, and retribution to them. Behind the whitewashed wall, their “utopia” is full of persecution towards God’s people. May their eyes be darkened so that they cannot see, and their efforts be difficult forever.

Paul explains that Israel tried very hard to obtain righteousness through the law of the Old Testament but never achieved it. There were a few among them that did, like Abraham who believed God and that faith was considered righteousness. That belief had nothing to do with the law. The majority of Jews were hardened against the righteousness that came through Jesus Christ because of their attachment to the law. The table they set became their stumbling block and retribution. Because of their rejection of Jesus Christ, the curse is that they will never see and will always have it difficult. That seems to be the situation with Israel in this year 2022.
