- Jesus Christ is God’s measuring rod to size up the New Jerusalem.
- Come apart from the global culture of the beast.
- Those who harm us are harming the apple of God’s eye.
- Jesus Christ is coming back to bring us into the New Jerusalem.
Jesus Christ is God’s measuring rod to size up the New Jerusalem.
“Then I raised my eyes and looked, and behold, a man with a measuring line in his hand. So I said, “Where are you going? And he said to me, “To measure Jerusalem, to see what is its width and what is its length.” Zachariah 2:1-2
To measure Jerusalem would be to determine the borders from east to west and from north to south. Today, the State of Israel is 71 miles wide at its widest point and 290 miles long at its longest point. However, before the measurements could begin, an angel revealed that the true measurements of “Jerusalem” is one without borders,
“And there was the angel who talked with me, going out; and another angel was coming out to meet him, who said to him, “Run, speak to this young man, saying: ‘Jerusalem will be inhabited as towns without walls, because of the multitude of men and livestock in it. For I,’ says the Lord, ‘will be a wall of fire all around her, and I will be the glory in her midst.’ ” Zechariah 2:3-5
Obviously, the earthly Jerusalem will never be populated like a city without walls that thrives with multitudes of people and livestock. The Jerusalem being spoken about is the eternal New Jerusalem of the new heaven and earth. “But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels, to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are registered in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of just men made perfect, to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel.” Hebrews 12:22-24
Our Lord Jesus is the measuring line by which all people are measured according to our faith in Jesus Christ, and through Him we are given admission into the New Jerusalem. That is a city without walls. The walls that create barriers into the presence of the Spirit through Jesus Christ are torn down. Multitudes upon multitudes of Believers will be in that Heavenly City, Mount Zion, the New Jerusalem.
In the New Jerusalem, the Lord is the Glory in her midst, and He is the wall of fire all around, “But I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it. The Lamb is its light.” Revelations 21:22-23 The description of the New Jerusalem can be read about in Revelation 21 and also Revelation 22.
The Holy Spirit is the “wall of fire” that lives within us through the Christ, Jesus. The Holy Spirit is the guarantee of our eternal inheritance, “In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance…” Ephesians 1:13-14
Today, everyone born-again through Christ Jesus are Israel, citizens of the New Jerusalem, as quoted, “For they are not all Israel who are of Israel, nor are they all children because they are the seed of Abraham; but, “In Isaac your seed will be called.” That is, those who are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God; but the children of the promise are counted as the seed… and if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.” Romans 9:6-8, Galatians 3:29
Come apart from the global culture of the beast.
“Up, up! Flee from the land of the north,” says the Lord; “for I have spread you abroad like the four winds of heaven,” says the Lord. “Up, Zion! Escape, you who dwell with the daughter of Babylon.” Zachariah 2:6-7
If we want to enter the eternal New Jerusalem, we must flee the “land of the north”. The “land of the north” symbolizes the global culture, those who live for Satan’s beast that gives them what to speak, do, think, and feel. Speaking of Satan, “For you have said in your heart: ‘I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregations on the farthest sides of the north; I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High.” Isaiah 14:13-14 Isaiah sees the space satellites, space station, and space shuttle in Ezekiel 1. Zachariah speaks of the “lead disc” being “lifted up between earth and heaven” in Zachariah 5:5-9.
“Dwelling with the daughter of Babylon” refers to living for the the global culture of the beast. Babylon symbolizes the global government. The global culture denies God, rejects Jesus Christ, and refuses to make the Holy Spirit part of who they are. The beast is not able to function in the presence of the Holy Trinity, therefore corrupts the conscience and hardens the Spirit against Jesus Christ. In that hardness against the Holy Spirit, the beast is able to give breath/life to the image o f the beast to speak by speaking and living through people everywhere. The Lord says to us, “Up, Zion! Escape, you who dwell with the daughter of Babylon.
“Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues. For her sins have reached to heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities.” Revelations 18:4
Those who harm us are harming the apple of God’s eye.
“For thus says the Lord of hosts: “He sent Me after glory, to the nations which plunder you; for he who touches you touches the apple of His eye.” Zachariah 2:8
The Christ, our Lord Jesus, gives us a heads-up on the plundering and persecution coming to we who believe in God through Jesus Christ, and says, “Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.” Matthew 5:11-12
Christianity is being plundered today by the culture of the beast. Here in the United States, the manmade churches have abandoned the Gospel of Jesus Christ as they join with the community agenda. They “dwell with the daughter of Babylon“. Government lawmakers no longer make the values of the Bible part of their laws, policies, and executive orders. The educational system does not allow the values of the Bible to be taught in classrooms. There is no sector in the social network that allows the spread of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
While the psychotic “lamb” is a silent killer and persecutor of the way of Christ in the United Sates, persecution in other parts of the world is not a “lamb” at all but a roaring lion. Christians in countries around the world are being put in prison, physically harmed, murdered, and terrorized from day-to-day.
The countries of the United Nations are atheists in the majority, with China and Russia being two of the three most powerful countries in the world, both atheists. When the United Nations become the undisputed one world government, the way of Christ Jesus will be vehemently opposed.
Our Lord promises, “…he who touches you touches the apple of His eye…”.
“For surely I will shake My hand against them, and they will become spoil for their servants. Then you will know that the Lord of hosts has sent Me.” Zachariah 2:9
The Christ, our Lord Jesus, is returning as the King of kings, and brings His vengeance on this world on behalf of the “…apple of His eye…”.
“And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses. Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS. Then I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the birds that fly in the midst of heaven, ‘Come and gather together for the supper of the great God, that you may eat the flesh of kings, the flesh of captains, the flesh of mighty men, the flesh of horses and of those who sit on them, and the flesh of all people, free and slave, both small and great.’” Revelation 19:14-18
Jesus Christ is coming back to bring us into the New Jerusalem.
“Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion! For behold, I am coming and I will dwell in your midst,” says the Lord. “Many nations will be joined to the Lord in that day, and they will become My people. And I will dwell in your midst. Then you will know that the Lord of hosts has sent Me to you.” Zachariah 2:10-11
The followers of the Christ, Jesus, is the “daughter of Zion” , as quoted “But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels, to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are registered in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of just men made perfect, to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel.” Hebrews 12:22-24
We are to sing because we believe in Jesus, the Christ, and Son of God and He is returning to live with us eternally in the New Jerusalem. Believers from every city in every nation around the world will be gathered together, many nations, to be joined to the Lord in the day of His return. We have become God’s people through Christ Jesus. Jesus was sent to the Jewish people as their Messiah, the Christ and Son of God, so that they could have a home in the New Jerusalem, however, “He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” John 1:11-13
“And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they will be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” Revelation 21:3-4
“And the Lord will take possession of Judah as His inheritance in the Holy Land, and will again choose Jerusalem. Be silent, all flesh, before the Lord, for He is aroused from His holy habitation!” Zachariah 2:12-13
The Christ, Jesus, is from the tribe of Judah, so in a way, every person who lives for Him belongs to His tribe, Judah. The Lord takes possession of us as His own, as His inheritance in the Holy Land of the New Jerusalem. The Christ, Jesus, chose the earthly Jerusalem for the first time way back as described in Ezekiel 16:1-22. He chooses Jerusalem again as the eternal New Jerusalem where those of Israel are everyone who lives for God through Him.
The Holiness of the Lord is aroused (disturbed) by the sin of the flesh. The Holy Spirit tells us to quiet our flesh and live to please God. However, because of our sin, there is no way to be on good terms with God. That is why He sent His Son Jesus Christ, so that whoever comes to Him through Jesus will be considered righteous in His eyes. The Holy Spirit is our Helper to guide us in silencing the flesh. Jesus Christ gives us the Holy Spirit by the remission of sin.
It’s apparent that God will not be choosing the old Jerusalem of this earth again, but He will choose those who live for the eternal New Jerusalem which is waiting for us in the new heaven and earth. The Holy Land is definitely not the Jerusalem we see today, but it is the land promised to those who accept Jesus as Christ and Lord and Savior. As people born into the family of God through Jesus Christ, we are His inheritance, and He will bring us through the Heavenly gates.
“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,“
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
“I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25, 3:1
