Jerusalem has become fruitless to God and has been given to the fire

Ezekiel 15

  • Jerusalem is not producing fruit for God.
  • Jerusalem has become useless to God.
  • Jerusalem is fit to be thrown into the fire.
  • Jerusalem is unproductive in its wholeness.
  • Jerusalem is like a dried vine put into the fire.
    • Jerusalem’s inhabitants are given up to the fire.
    • Jerusalem goes out from one fire and into another.
    • Jerusalem is desolated because of their sin against God.

The following verse is the central message of this chapter.

“Therefore thus says the Lord God: ‘Like the wood of the vine among the trees of the forest, which I have given to the fire for fuel, so I will give up the inhabitants of Jerusalem;”

Ezekiel 15:6

Jerusalem is not producing fruit for God.
“Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying: “Son of man, how is the wood of the vine better than any other wood, the vine branch which is among the trees of the forest?” Ezekiel 15:1-2

When a vine no longer produces fruit, such as grapes, it is no longer any better than any of the wood of the trees of the forests. There was a time when the Israelites were producing fruit in the name of God. They were given the Ten Commandments and were very much different than all of the other nations around them. Today, the Jewish people are no longer productive for God and has become nothing more than a fruitless vine. They live by the Old Testament and have thrown out the New Testament (Gospel of Jesus Christ]. Only in Jesus Christ can there be fruitfulness in the Spirit of God, “Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit.” John 15:2

When the Jewish people rejected Jesus Christ 2000 years ago, they were no longer able to produce fruit as an offering to God. They became a fruitless vine no better than any other country or person who turns from God and rejects Jesus.

Today, the entity that gives people what to think, feel, do, and say prohibits the fruit of the Spirit from blossoming. This entity hardens the spirit to build a wall against Jesus Christ to enliven the image of the beast to live and speak through people. People in every city around the world conform to the non-spiritual global culture as they are groomed to the mark of the beast by what they say and do.

The fruit of the Spirit blossoms within our spirit as we live for God through Jesus Christ, “Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. John 15:4-5

Jerusalem has become useless to God.
“Is wood taken from it to make any object? Or can men make a peg from it to hang any vessel on?” Ezekiel 15:3

This verse is referring to the Jewish people who are likened to a dead vine that has become unfit in service to God. They are like a dead and rotten vine that nothing can be made from it, not so much as a peg to hang a hat on.

When the Jewish people rejected Jesus Christ 2000 years ago, they were severed from the ability to produce for the will of God. Jesus says, “No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.” John 15:4 As John the Baptist said, “Brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the wrath to come? Therefore bear fruits worthy of repentance, and do not begin to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’” Luke 3:7-8 Fruits of repentance includes, Godly sorrow, willingness to come to Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sin, new life in the Spirit, and eternal life.

The Jewish people live only by the Old Testament and have thrown out the entire New Testament, which is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. For that reason, they are dead to the fruitfulness that comes in the will of God through Jesus Christ, as quoted, “God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things…” Hebrews 1:1-2

Nothing can be taken from the entity that gives people what to think, feel, do, and say to make anything in the will of God. This entity causes death to the human spirit which prevents fruit from blossoming in Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit is oppressed which brings life and growth to our spirit and soul. The masses of the global culture are groomed to the mark of the beast in the deadness of their spirit and soul.

Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me more than these?” He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.” He said to him, “Feed My lambs.” John 21:15

Jerusalem is fit to be thrown into the fire. “Instead, it is thrown into the fire for fuel; the fire devours both ends of it, and its middle is burned. Is it useful for any work?” Ezekiel 15:4

When a grape vine is no longer able to produce grapes, it becomes dried out and useless, unfit to make even a wood peg. It is gathered and thrown into the fire. The entire dried out vine is burned at both ends and in the middle. When Israel turned from the will of God for them to receive Jesus Christ as their Messiah, they had become fuel for the fire. The oil of the Holy Spirit dried within them.

Jesus speaks a parable of the importance of keeping the oil of the Holy Spirit within us until His return. When He sees the light of the Spirit in us, we receive eternal Salvation. If the light of the Holy Spirit has gone out, we will be shut out from the New Jerusalem. Click for the scripture of the parable of the oil in the lamp [Matthew 25:1-13].

Today, the State of Israel has become that fruitless vine to be burned in the fire. Their heritage at the beginning of time will not save them, it will be burned at that end. Their heritage as they stand in today’s world will not save them, it will be burned at that end. None of their heritage between their beginning nor at the end will save them, the whole middle will be burned. Jesus Christ is the only way, the only truth, and the only life. “If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned.” John 15:6

The Jewish people were thrown into the fire when they were gathered to the State of Israel in 1948. The wrath of God’s judgment is against them. Israel has been involved in 18 wars since the year they were established in 1948. Click for a list of those wars and scroll close to the bottom of the page. God gathered the Jewish people to the State of Israel for unleashing His judgment on them and to burn them in the fire, “Therefore thus says the Lord God: ‘Because you have all become dross, therefore behold, I will gather you into the midst of Jerusalem. As men gather silver, bronze, iron, lead, and tin into the midst of a furnace, to blow fire on it, to melt it; so I will gather you in My anger and in My fury, and I will leave you there and melt you.” Ezekiel 22:19-20

Jesus Christ said that the Jewish people would be cast out into outer darkness where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth, “But the sons of the kingdom will be cast out into outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” Matthew 8:12 Jesus also said this about the Jewish people, “You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it. But because I tell the truth, you do not believe Me.” John 8:44-45

If the Jewish people would have received Jesus Christ as their Messiah 2000 years ago, they would not be a dry and rotting vine, but be fruitful in Christ Jesus. They would not be a Jewish nation but instead would be Christians. There would be no State of Israel if they were Christians. Christians do not have a nation on this earth to call our own. Instead, Jesus prepares a nation for us in the New Jerusalem in the new heaven and earth.

Jerusalem is unproductive in its wholeness. “Indeed, when it was whole, no object could be made from it. How much less will it be useful for any work when the fire has devoured it, and it is burned?” Ezekiel 15:5

The desire of the Israelites has always been to be whole, to be united as a Jewish people, a Jewish nation. That is why they always considered themselves above every single person who were not Jewish. If a person was not Jewish, then they were called Gentiles or Samaritans. Because they wanted to be whole, they rejected Jesus Christ who associated with people they deemed not to be whole. In their wholeness, they live only by the Old Testament and have thrown out the entire New Testament, which is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Jewish people was, and is today, fruitless to the will of God. Jesus Christ says this, “If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.” John 15:6

In their wholeness as a Jewish culture, God gathered the Jewish people to their very own Jewish nation in 1948, where He throws them into the fire of His fury, “Therefore thus says the Lord God: ‘Because you have all become dross, therefore behold, I will gather you into the midst of Jerusalem. As men gather silver, bronze, iron, lead, and tin into the midst of a furnace, to blow fire on it, to melt it; so I will gather you in My anger and in My fury, and I will leave you there and melt you.” Ezekiel 15:19-20 The Israelis have been in 18 wars since the State of Israel was established in 1948, and even a war in 1948, Click for a list of those wars and scroll close to the bottom of the page. The Jewish culture, in the desire to cling to their Jewish wholeness, will be thrown into the fire of eternal hell, beyond the grave.

The will of God for the Jewish people is not to be whole as a Jewish culture, but to be whole as the body of Christ. “For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly, nor is circumcision that which is outward in the flesh; but he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the Spirit, not in the letter; whose praise is not from men but from God.” Romans 2:28-29 If the Jewish people were Christians, the State of Israel would not exist, and the wrath of God’s judgment would not be against them in the Middle East. As Christians, we do not have a nation on this earth to call our own, our nation is the New Jerusalem in the new heaven and earth.

Today, the world government defines wholeness by the unity of its global culture. That wholeness is created by the entity that gives people what to think, feel, do, and say. They are all put on the same “sheet of music” as that entity enlivens the image of the beast to live and speak through people in every city around the world. They do not work on behalf of God, Jesus Christ, or the Holy Spirit. The global culture establishes wholeness as they are groomed to the mark of the beast by what they say and do. However, they are all destined to be burned in the fire of global tribulation and eternally in hell.

Jerusalem is like a dried vine put into the fire.
Jerusalem’s inhabitants are given up to the fire. “Therefore thus says the Lord God: ‘Like the wood of the vine among the trees of the forest, which I have given to the fire for fuel, so I will give up the inhabitants of Jerusalem;” Ezekiel 15:6

The desire of the Jewish people to remain whole as a Jewish culture has led them into much heartache, suffering, and violence. The fury of God’s judgment is against them, and God has given them to the fires of this earth and to the fire of eternal hell. “He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” John 1:11-13

Today, the capital of Israel is Jerusalem, and we see how it is given to the fire for fuel on this earth. Jerusalem is divided between East and West Jerusalem, with the east being in the West Bank and the west being in Israel. Conflict and violence already exist over the territory of Israel and the West Bank. The division of Jerusalem only adds to the fire over who really has control over what, which includes the Temple Mount. Israel claims the Temple as theirs (being built by king Solomon), but the Islamists/Muslims claim it as theirs. All of this relates to the fires of violence relating to the Gaza Strip, Lebanon, Syria, Iran, etc. This is exactly what God said He would do, to gather them to the State of Israel to unleash the fury of His judgment on them, Ezekiel 22:19-20.

Jerusalem also symbolizes the capital of the soul where God sits within us through the Holy Spirit. Today, instead of being the temple of the Holy Spirit, the temple has become the place of the entity that governs through the thoughts, feelings, words, and behaviors of people. For that reason, the souls of the global culture who welcome that entity will be given as fuel for the fire and those fires also represent the fires of hell. “If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are.” 1 Corinthians 3:17

The entity giving people their thoughts and feelings have turned the spirit and soul into dry wood by enabling the image of the beast to live and speak through people. We are created for the image of Christ to live and speak through us. People everywhere allow their soul and spirit to be dried and rotted as they are groomed to the mark of the beast by what they say and do. God has given them as fuel for the fire of hell.

Jerusalem goes out from one fire and into another. “…and I will set My face against them. They will go out from one fire, but another fire shall devour them. Then you shall know that I am the Lord, when I set My face against them.” Ezekiel 15:7

The face of the Lord is set against the State of Israel. We already see how Israel goes out from one fire and another one devours them. Since 1948, the year Israel was established as a nation, they have been going from one fire to the next.

The Israelis have been involved in 18 wars since 1948. Click for a list of those wars and scroll close to the bottom of the page. They keep going out from one fire and another fire devours them. Fires come in many other ways as well. After Israel retaliated against the terrorist attack on October 7, 2023, Israel went into another fire; the United Nations has opened a case of genocide against them. Likewise, after Israel responds with military or police force to other situations, they find themselves in another fire; the global culture riots and protests against them. The Israelis also find themselves being in the fire of the USA’s refusal to stand with them against the goals of the United Nations. The United States is committed to peace and stability in the Middle East.

The independence of the State of Israel is an obstacle to the goal of the United Nations to be established as the one world government. For that reason, they need unification in the Middle East, as in all parts of the world. Israel will continue finding themselves going out of one fire into another, until the United Nations has them under their thumb, submitted to the will of a one world government.

Today, the world government of the beast and its global culture goes from one fire to the next. The soul has been made a place for the entity that gives people what to think, feel, say, and do, which is the power source of today’s global culture. God has created the soul to be the home of the Holy Spirit. “Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are.” 1 Corinthians 3:16-17

Global warming is already here and that is the Fourth Plague of Revelation 16:8-9. That alone brings many literal forest fires, as well as all sorts of problems relating to “natural” disasters. From that fire, the world government and its global culture goes into another fire of the power center of the beast collapsing in the Fifth Plague. That collapse renders the world government and its global culture powerless. From that fire, they go into the fire of the Battle of Armageddon in the Sixth Plague. Click here for the Seven Plagues. From that fire, they go into the fire of the Day of the Lord. Jesus Christ is coming back. From the fires of this earth, those living for this world system will be thrown into the eternal fire of hell.

Also, this world system goes from one fire to the next as described in the events of the Seven Trumpets in Revelation 8, 9, and 11.

Jerusalem is desolated because of their sin against God. “Thus I will make the land desolate, because they have committed a trespass,’ says the Lord God.” Ezekiel 15:8

The trespass of Israel is to turn away from the will of God by rejecting Jesus Christ as their Messiah, Lord, and Savior. If the Jewish people had received Jesus Christ 2000 years ago, none of the battles and conflicts they face today would be taking place. That’s because as Christians, the Jewish culture would have ceased to exist and the Jewish State of Israel would never have been established. As Christians, we do not have a nation on this earth to call our own, our nation is the New Jerusalem in the new heaven and earth. Israel will be made desolate, as described in the post on the “day after” the Battle of Armageddon, Ezekiel 39.

God gathered the Jewish people to the State of Israel for the purpose of unleashing the fury of His wrath on them. That is said in Ezekiel 22:19-20.

When we are born again by living for God through Jesus Christ, and we embrace the presence of the Holy Spirit, our life has a brand-new direction. Without Christ, our destiny is like that of Israel’s. With Christ, we have a new destination that leads to eternal life in the New Jerusalem. The change we experience by living for Jesus Christ is good in this life on earth as well as for eternal life beyond the grave.

The trespass of this world system is to deny the existence of God the Creator, to discard the need for Jesus Christ for the remission of sin, and to oppress the presence of the Holy Spirit. The desolation of Israel and of this present world comes ultimately in the Day of the Lord. When Jesus Christ returns, a new heaven and earth is created where those faithful to God will live eternally in the New Jerusalem. The old Jerusalem is on this earth in the Middle East, and it is divided into the West and East with a lot of conflict and violence. The New Jerusalem is not on this earth but is within the Kingdom of God where there is eternal peace and unity.

“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25
