We must return to God through Jesus Christ and He will return to us.

“In the eighth month of the second year of Darius, the word of the Lord came to Zechariah the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo the prophet, saying, ” Zachariah 1:1

Darius is also mentioned in the book of Daniel, but not the same Darius. Zachariah prophesied during Darius 1, a.k.a. Darius the Great, around 520 BC. Daniel prophesied during Darius the Meade, around 539 BC. Daniel was in Babylonian captivity, but Zachariah was freed from Babylonian captivity to rebuild the Temple. Their ministries did overlap, Daniel being elderly near the end of the Babylonian captivity, and Zachariah being a young man at the end of the Babylonian captivity.

“The Lord has been very angry with your fathers. Therefore say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts: “Return to Me,” says the Lord of hosts, “and I will return to you,” says the Lord of hosts.” Zachariah 1:2-3

That is still the message which God has for Israel today, to return to Him. From the time Jesus Christ revealed Himself as the Son of God and their Messiah, the Jewish leaders turned away from God. They turned away from Him when they rejected Jesus as the Christ and the Lamb of God who atoned for sin. God promises to Israel that He will return to them when they return to Him. As the Lord Jesus said to Nicodemus the Pharisee long ago, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” John 3:3

Today, this country has drifted very far from its foundation built on God and its Christian beginnings. Instead of serving God through Jesus Christ, the masses in every city around the nation are serving the beast which forms what they speak, do, think, and feel. The beast gives breath/life to the image of the beast to speak by speaking/living through people everywhere. By what they are given to say and do they turn away from the heritage of this nation based on God and Jesus Christ. They are conformed to the “democratic” global culture as they are groomed to the mark, number, and name of the beast. Even so, God promises that if we return to Him, He will return to us.

“Do not be like your fathers, to whom the former prophets preached, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts: “Turn now from your evil ways and your evil deeds.” ’ But they did not hear nor heed Me,” says the Lord.” Zachariah 1:4

It is urgent that Israel turns now from their evil ways and their evil deeds. The Israeli government relies more on the power and might of bombs and guns than they do on the Spirit of God. Also, as is seen all over the news media, the Israeli citizens protest and riot against their own government to demand conformity to the will of the United Nations, the government of the beast. They have the most liberal abortion rights in the world and they rally in support of the LGBQT+ lifestyles. They want to be part of the global culture of the beast. The Holy Spirit tells them, through Zachariah, not to be like their ancestors who refused to hear Jesus Christ. They must now turn to God.

The Jewish people, wherever they are around the world, must acknowledge Jesus as the Christ and Son of God.

“Your fathers, where are they? And the prophets, do they live forever? Yet surely My words and My statutes, which I commanded My servants the prophets, did they not overtake your fathers?” Zachariah 1:6a” Zachariah 1:5

The ancestors of the Jewish people are in their graves, as are their prophets. The word of God outlives every single person, as quoted, “All flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of the grass. The grass withers, and its flower falls away, but the word of the Lord endures forever.” 1 Peter 1:24-25

Eternal life is only found by living for God through Jesus Christ, in the presence of the Holy Spirit, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16

“So they returned and said: ‘Just as the Lord of hosts determined to do to us, according to our ways and according to our deeds, so He has dealt with us.” Zachariah 1:6b.

What the Lord determined to do with Israel He has done and is doing and will do. Because the Jewish people rejected Jesus as the Christ and Son of God, He gathered them to Israel in 1948 as the place where He unleashes His judgment on them, as quoted, “Therefore thus says the Lord God: ‘Because you have all become dross, therefore behold, I will gather you into the midst of Jerusalem. As men gather silver, bronze, iron, lead, and tin into the midst of a furnace, to blow fire on it, to melt it; so I will gather you in My anger and in My fury, and I will leave you there and melt you. Yes, I will gather you and blow on you with the fire of My wrath, and you shall be melted in its midst.” Ezekiel 22:19-21

Only by returning to God, in the name of Jesus, will they be reconciled to Him, “See! Your house is left to you desolate; for I say to you, you shall see Me no more till you say, ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’ ” Matthew 23:38-39

If the Jewish people would have said “Yes!” to Jesus 2000 years ago, the Jewish culture and the State of Israel would never have existed. They would have been living as Christians, and as Christians we we do not have a country on this earth to call our own. Our nation is in the eternal New Jerusalem, in the new heaven and earth. In Christ, there is no Jewish culture, no Jewish nation, “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” Galatians 3:28

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.” 1 John 1:9-10

The vision of the horses which takes peace from the earth.

The vision of the red, sorrel, and white horses.
On the twenty-fourth day of the eleventh month, which is the month Shebat, in the second year of Darius, the word of the Lord came to Zechariah the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo the prophet:” Zachariah 1:7

The month of Shebat is around January-February. The vision given to Zachariah through the Holy Spirit is a mirror image of the vision John saw in Revelation 6.

“I saw by night, and behold, a man riding on a red horse, and it stood among the myrtle trees in the hollow; and behind him were horses: red, sorrel, and white.” Zachariah 1:8

The night refers to the spiritual wickedness within the world which denies the existence of God, discards the need for the remission of sin through Jesus Christ, and blasphemes the Holy Spirit. The Myrle Trees refers to people who make their body the home of the Holy Spirit. During the time of a chaotic world, the followers of Jesus Christ are like myrtle trees on the landscape instead of thorns, as quoted, “Instead of the thorn will come up the cypress tree, and instead of the brier will come up the myrtle tree; And it will be to the Lord for a name, for an everlasting sign that will not be cut off.” Isaiah 55:13

In Revelation 6, the red horse symbolizes taking peace from the earth, “Another horse, fiery red, went out. And it was granted to the one who sat on it to take peace from the earth, and that people should kill one another; and there was given to him a great sword.” Revelation 6:4

The color sorrel doesn’t have a specific color assigned to it, it’s almost a combination of red, black, and pale. Some say sorrel is a reddish brown, some say it is a cream color, some say a brownish color. In the book of Revelation 6, the actions of the black and pale horse are a result of the divisions and conflict created by the red horse, “…a black horse, and he who sat on it had a pair of scales in his hand. And I heard a voice in the midst of the four living creatures saying, “A quart of wheat for a day’s wages, and three quarts of barley for a day’s wages; and do not harm the oil and the wine.” Revelation 6:5-6

“So I looked, and behold, a pale horse. And the name of him who sat on it was Death, and Hades followed with him. And power was given to them over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword, with hunger, with death, and by the beasts of the earth.” Revelation 6:8

In Revelation 6, the white horse symbolizes one who conquers people in every city around the world. It would be the beast which forms what people think, feel, do, and say. People who live by it wear the white clothing of humanism, which is the fig leaf worn by those who live for the beast that speaks and lives through them. They are the wolves in sheep clothing, or the beast in human skin, “And I looked, and behold, a white horse. He who sat on it had a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer.” Revelation 6:2 Click here for the post about the rider on the white horse, from Revelations 6:1-2.

Then I said, “My lord, what are these?” So the angel who talked with me said to me, “I will show you what they are.” Zachariah 1:9

In Revelation 6, the Apostle John (through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit) gives a detailed explanation of the horses, which the Holy Spirit did not inspire Zachariah to do. But there is a huge clue given in the next verses to let us know the horses Zachariah saw are the horses John saw in Revelation 6.

Explanation of the destructive force of the horses.
And the man who stood among the myrtle trees answered and said, “These are the ones whom the Lord has sent to walk to and fro throughout the earth.” Zachariah 1:10

The horses are standing among the Myrtle Trees (the faithful followers of Jesus Christ), and the horses are global in the destruction which they bring, they walk throughout the earth. That definitely describes a time of global chaos, upheaval, and tribulation. We know the horses bring tribulation by what is said in verse 12.

“So they answered the Angel of the Lord, who stood among the myrtle trees, and said, “We have walked to and fro throughout the earth, and behold, all the earth is resting quietly.” Zachariah 1:11

Before the Lord sends the events of the Seven Trumpets of Revelations 8, 9, and 11, and the events of the Seven Plagues of Revelations 16, there will be a half-hour of silence in Heaven for about “1/2 hour”, as quoted, “When He opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour.” Revelation 8:1 All the earth will be resting quietly. The global government of the beast, operating through the United Nations, will have “1/2 hour” of peace after being established as the undisputed one world government, then comes total upheaval, chaos, and lawlessness. Click here for a post on the “1/2 hour” of silence.

“Then the Angel of the Lord answered and said, “O Lord of hosts, how long will You not have mercy on Jerusalem and on the cities of Judah, against which You were angry these seventy years?” Zachariah 1:12

That verse tells us the horses bring suffering.

The “seventy years” was a reference to the 70 years of captivity of the Israelites to the Babylonians. That seventy years is mentioned in Jeremiah 25:11-13 and in Daniel 9:2 .They were seeking redemption after being freed. The answer that the Christ, Jesus, gives to the Jewish people of today is this, “See! Your house is left to you desolate; for I say to you, you shall see Me no more till you say, ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’ ” Matthew 23:38-39 Only through Jesus Christ is there redemption and eternal life.

Suffering will also come to those who remain faithful to Christ Jesus during the global lawlessness, as quoted, “And they cried with a loud voice, saying, “How long, O Lord, holy and true, until You judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?” Revelation 6:10 Our Lord Jesus is returning to bring His vengeance on those who persecute His people, and we are given eternal life in the New Jerusalem.

“And the Lord answered the angel who talked to me, with good and comforting words. So the angel who spoke with me said to me, “Proclaim, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts:” Zachariah 1:13-14

The good and comforting words brought to the Jewish people, and to the whole world, is this, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16 That is the message we are to proclaim, that is the word of God, the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

I am zealous for Jerusalem and for Zion with great zeal. I am exceedingly angry with the nations at ease; For I was a little angry, and they helped—but with evil intent.” Zachariah 1:14-15

We have to realize that born-again Believers are the new Israel, everyone of us who believes in Jesus Christ, “He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name…” John 1:11-12 God is zealous for us. We also have to realize that Jerusalem refers to the New Jerusalem, which is Zion, as quoted, “But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels,” Hebrews 12:22

The Lord is exceedingly angry with the nations at ease, which would be the global government and its global culture. They are at ease by not caring about God, the Christ, Jesus, nor about making the Holy Spirit part of who they are. The nations congregate within the United Nations, and they are atheists in the majority. China and Russia are two of the three most powerful nations in the world, and are staunchly atheists. The nations serve the beast that gives them what to speak, do, think, and feel. That beast gives breath/life to the image of the beast to speak by speaking and living through people everywhere. By what they are given to say and do, the global culture is groomed to the mark, name, number of the beast.

The Lord was a little angry with the nations, and they helped, but with evil intent. Global warming is an excellent example of the Lord being a little angry and the nations help with evil intent. Global warming is the Fourth Plague of Revelations 16:8-9, and the nations are trying to help reverse it, but with evil intent. What is their evil intent within their help? To unite the global population, not through God the Creator, but through the beast that unifies them by giving them what to think, do, feel, and say. They refuse to repent of their unbelief through Jesus the Christ.

“‘Therefore thus says the Lord: “I am returning to Jerusalem with mercy; My house will be built in it,” says the Lord of hosts, “And a surveyor’s line will be stretched out over Jerusalem.” ’ Zachariah 1:16

After the Israelites were released from Babylonian captivity, they returned to Jerusalem to rebuild the Temple that the Babylonians destroyed. Zachariah was there, as was Zerubbabel, Haggai, and the Jewish returnees. The surveyors line, stretched out over Jerusalem, refers to the rebuilding of all of Jerusalem.

The house which God is building is the New Jerusalem, and when His Son Jesus Christ comes back, He is bringing us home to live with Him eternally. The surveyors line also refers to measuring our heart to make sure there is room enough for Jesus Christ. When we make room for Him, then He prepares a room for us. That applies equally to all the people of Israel. We are the temple of God, created to be the temple of the Holy Spirit. Our Lord Jesus rebuilds our sin-plagued nature to give us a new heart and mind, a heart and mind receptive to the Holy Spirit.

The New Jerusalem is described in Revelation 21 and continues through Revelation 22, along with the measurements done by the surveyor’s line.

“Again proclaim, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts: “My cities will again spread out through prosperity; The Lord will again comfort Zion, and will again choose Jerusalem.” ’ ” Zachariah 1:17

The cities of God are contained within the Heavenly City of the New Jerusalem, the place of Zion, and His prosperity is eternal life. “But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels…” Hebrews 12:22

The Four Horns scattering the people of God, and the Craftsmen.

“Then I raised my eyes and looked, and there were four horns.” Zachariah 1:18

The four horns refer to all the earth, such as in all directions like North, South, East, and West. That is noted in this verse, “Therefore the male goat grew very great; but when he became strong, the large horn was broken, and in place of it four notable ones came up toward the four winds of heaven.” Daniel 8:8 The four horns in that verse refers to the power the global government received after a large horn was broken. A powerful nation was broken after WW2 and its power went to the four notable horns towards the four winds. That describes how the United Nations was formed immediately after WW2 and brought the global government of the beast, ,as described in Daniel 8:1-14.

“And I said to the angel who talked with me, “What are these?” So he answered me, “These are the horns that have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem.” Zachariah 1:19

Today, we see how the land of Israel is scattered with many divisions, a lot of conflict, and the government of the State of Israel is being made an international outcast. Literally speaking, Judah is in the territory of the West Bank, Jerusalem is divided between West and East Jerusalem, and no one can agree what territory is being referred to when just the name of Israel is spoken. That is the strategy of the four horns, which includes the nations from every direction of the world, and is the global government of the beast operating as the United Nations. The intent is to whittle away and destroy the independence of Israel to empower the United Nations as the undisputed one world government.

“Then the Lord showed me four craftsmen. And I said, “What are these coming to do?” So he said, “These are the horns that scattered Judah, so that no one could lift up his head; but the craftsmen are coming to terrify them, to cast out the horns of the nations that lifted up their horn against the land of Judah to scatter it.” Zachariah 1:20-21

Zachariah asked what the Four Horns and the Four Craftsmen were coming to do. The Four Horns come to destroy the State of Israel, as well as to destroy Christianity, and eventually destroys the whole earth. That is where the United Nations is leading this world, to lawlessness and destruction.

The Four Craftsmen are coming to terrify the Four Horns of the world’s nations and to destroy them. When Jesus Christ comes back, He will have those Craftsmen with Him, from the four corners of the world, as His armies from Heaven. They come to destroy the global government of the beast and all those who live for it, as quoted below,

“Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses. Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.” Revelations 19:11-16

“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25
