We must return to God through Jesus Christ and He will return to us. “In the eighth month of the second year of Darius, the word of the Lord came to Zechariah the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo the prophet, saying, ” Zachariah 1:1 Daniel also served under Darius, as quoted in Daniel 5:31 and Daniel 9:1. Daniel was God’s Prophet while working as a government official for Darius, Zachariah was God’s Prophet speaking to the grassroots population of the Jewish people.
“The Lord has been very angry with your fathers. Therefore say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts: “Return to Me,” says the Lord of hosts, “and I will return to you,” says the Lord of hosts.” Zachariah 1:2-3 That is still the message which God has for Israel today, to return to Him. From the time Jesus Christ revealed Himself as the Son of God and their Messiah, the Jewish leaders turned away from God. They turned away from Him when they rejected Jesus Christ as the Lamb of God who atoned for their sin. God promises this to Israel today, He will return to them when they return to Him. As the Lord Jesus said to Nicodemus the Pharisee long ago, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” John 3:3
Today, this country has drifted very far from its foundation built on God and its Christian beginnings. Instead of serving God through Jesu Christ, the masses in every city around the nation are serving the thing which forms what they think, feel, do and say. It enables the image of the beast to live and speak through them, and by what they say and do they turn away from the heritage of this nation based on God and Jesus Christ. They are conformed to the “democratic” global culture as they are groomed to the mark of the beast. Even so, God promises that if we return to Him, He will return to us.
“Do not be like your fathers, to whom the former prophets preached, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts: “Turn now from your evil ways and your evil deeds.” ’ But they did not hear nor heed Me,” says the Lord.” Zachariah 1:4 It is urgent that Israel turns now from their evil ways and their evil deeds. As is seen all over the news media, the Israelis are protesting and rioting for their “democratic” rights to kill the unborn and for the promotion of the LGBQT+ lifestyles, etc. They want to be part of the global culture of the beast. They are allowing the image of the beast to live and speak through them by forming what they think, feel, do, and say. The Holy Spirit tells them, through Zachariah, not to be like those who refused to hear Jesus Christ. They must now to turn to God.
“Your fathers, where are they? And the prophets, do they live forever? Zachariah 1:5 Where are Moses, Ezekiel, Daniel, Zachariah, John and the rest of the Prophets? They are no longer on this earth. The same as the founders of America and the writers of America’s constitution are no longer on this earth. People are not on this earth for eternity.
“Yet surely My words and My statutes, which I commanded My servants the prophets, did they not overtake your fathers?” Zachariah 1:6a. For the word of God to overtake the forefathers means that their live was given to God and His commands. For example, just the mention of the name of Israel is automatically associated with God and the whole land of Israel (and the surrounding area) is basically a museum of Biblical heritage. The Old Testament and even the New Testament is given to this world through the Jewish culture (Jesus Christ was a Jew from the Tribe of Judah).
In America, it is obvious that we live in a nation where the founding fathers were overtaken by the commands of God through Jesus Christ. Anyone who denies that will have to explain where every church building on every street corner originated from. Certainly, the thing which forms thoughts, feelings, words, and deeds detests the Church as being a light to the world of the Gospel of Christ. In fact, the churches of today have been gutted of the Gospel of Christ. “All flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of the grass. The grass withers, and its flower falls away, but the word of the Lord endures forever.” 1 Peter 1:24-25
“So they returned and said: ‘Just as the Lord of hosts determined to do to us, according to our ways and according to our deeds, so He has dealt with us.’”’” Zachariah 1:6b. That verse is a confession made by the Israelites of their sin against God. Today, the Israelis need to make the confession that they have sinned against God by denying Jesus Christ as the Lamb of God who atones for their sin. God is dealing with Israel according to their deeds. The Israeli citizens have chosen to go the way of the world by conforming to the global culture by welcoming the thing which forms what they say, think, do, and feel. Likewise, the American people have also conformed to the global culture of the beast.
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.
1 John 1:9-10
The vision of the horses which takes peace from the earth.
The vision of the red, sorrel, and white horses. “On the twenty-fourth day of the eleventh month, which is the month Shebat, in the second year of Darius, the word of the Lord came to Zechariah the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo the prophet:” Zachariah 1:7 The vision given to Zachariah through the Holy Spirit is spiritually a mirror image of the vision John saw in Revelation 6.
“I saw by night, and behold, a man riding on a red horse, and it stood among the myrtle trees in the hollow; and behind him were horses: red, sorrel, and white.” Zachariah 1:8 The night refers to the spiritual wickedness within the world which denies the existence of God, discards the need for the remission of sin through Jesus Christ, and blasphemes the Holy Spirit. The Myrle Trees refers to people who make their body the home of the Holy Spirit. During the time of a chaotic world, the followers of Jesus Christ are like myrtle trees on the landscape instead of thorns, as quoted, “Instead of the thorn shall come up the cypress tree, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree; And it shall be to the Lord for a name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.” Isaiah 55:13
In Revelation 6, the red horse symbolizes taking peace from the earth, “Another horse, fiery red, went out. And it was granted to the one who sat on it to take peace from the earth, and that people should kill one another; and there was given to him a great sword.” Revelation 6:4
The color sorrel doesn’t have a specific color assigned to it, it’s almost a combination of red, black, and pale. Some say sorrel is a reddish brown, some say it is a cream color, some say a brownish color. In the book of Revelation 6, the actions of the black and pale horse are a result of the divisions and conflict created by the red horse, “…a black horse, and he who sat on it had a pair of scales in his hand. And I heard a voice in the midst of the four living creatures saying, “A quart of wheat for a day’s wages, and three quarts of barley for a day’s wages; and do not harm the oil and the wine.” Revelation 6:5-6
“So I looked, and behold, a pale horse. And the name of him who sat on it was Death, and Hades followed with him. And power was given to them over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword, with hunger, with death, and by the beasts of the earth.” Revelation 6:8
In Revelation 6, the white horse symbolizes one who conquers people in every city around the world. It would be the thing which forms what people think, feel, do, and say. People who live by it wear the white clothing of humanism to appear righteous. They are the wolves in sheep clothing, or the beast in human skin, “And I looked, and behold, a white horse. He who sat on it had a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer.” Revelation 6:2
“Then I said, “My lord, what are these?” So the angel who talked with me said to me, “I will show you what they are.” Zachariah 1:9 In Revelation 6, the Apostle John (through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit) gives a detailed explanation of the horses, which the Holy Spirit did not inspire Zachariah do. But there is a huge clue given in the next verses to let us know the horses Zachariah saw are the horses John saw in Revelation 6.
Explanation of the destructive force of the horses. “And the man who stood among the myrtle trees answered and said, “These are the ones whom the Lord has sent to walk to and fro throughout the earth.” Zachariah 1:10 The horses are standing among the Myrtle Trees (the faithful followers of Jesus Christ), and the horses are global in the destruction which they bring. That definitely describes a time of global chaos, upheaval, and tribulation. We know the horses bring tribulation by what is said in verse 12.
The horses also come at a time when the world is “resting quietly”. “Resting quietly” means people are not living by the awareness given through the Gospel of Christ. “So they answered the Angel of the Lord, who stood among the myrtle trees, and said, “We have walked to and fro throughout the earth, and behold, all the earth is resting quietly.” Zachariah 1:11 As the masses around the world “rest quietly” and snore at the testimony of Jesus, the Holy Spirit is not part of people’s life, and they are indifferent to God. That is a ripe environment for peace to be taken from the earth.
This is the verse which tells us the horses bring suffering, “Then the Angel of the Lord answered and said, “O Lord of hosts, how long will You not have mercy on Jerusalem and on the cities of Judah, against which You were angry these seventy years?” Zachariah 1:12 While that verse refers to Israel, we also see how it shifts to Christianity as well, as quoted, “And they cried with a loud voice, saying, “How long, O Lord, holy and true, until You judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?” Revelation 6:10 The tribulation Israel goes through is closely linked to the suffering of Christianity.
Jesus Christ comes back after the severe global tribulation. The seventy years is how long the Israelites were in captivity in Babylon, so Zachariah’s prophecy comes just before their freedom comes. That is the Holy Spirit telling us that the severe global tribulation is on this earth before Jesus Christ comes to take us home to be with him eternally. The seventy years of captivity are mentioned in Daniel 9:2 referring to Jeremiah 25:11-13. Those verses in Jeremiah actually says the retribution of God comes against the global government after those “seventy years.”
“And the Lord answered the angel who talked to me, with good and comforting words. So the angel who spoke with me said to me, “Proclaim, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts:” Zachariah 1:13-14 The comforting words brought to us is this, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
These are the details of the comforting words, “I am zealous for Jerusalem and for Zion with great zeal. I am exceedingly angry with the nations at ease; For I was a little angry, and they helped—but with evil intent.” Zachariah 1:14-15 God’s zeal for Israel is filled with vigor and vitality, and the same enemy of Israel is His enemy. That enemy is the global government of the beast. God has that same zeal for His family born through Jesus Christ. God is exceedingly angry with those who are at ease without Him, they are without the remission of sin which comes through Jesus Christ. The nations rage even today, and politicians from nations around the world are offering very little help. The help they do offer is full of evil intent to be set up as God by sitting in the temple of God, our body, as if are God. That is done through the thing which forms thoughts, feelings, words, and behaviors.
For thus says the Lord of hosts: “He sent Me after glory, to the nations which plunder you; for he who touches you touches the apple of His eye. For surely I will shake My hand against them, and they shall become spoil for their servants. Then you will know that the Lord of hosts has sent Me.
Zachariah 2:8-9
“‘Therefore thus says the Lord: “I am returning to Jerusalem with mercy; My house shall be built in it,” says the Lord of hosts, “And a surveyor’s line shall be stretched out over Jerusalem.” ’ Zachariah 1:16 The house which God is building is the New Jerusalem, and when His Son Jesus Christ comes back, He is taking us home to live there eternally. The surveyors line also refers to measuring our heart to make sure there is room enough for Jesus Christ. When we make room for Him then He prepares a room for us. That applies equally to all the people of Israel. That is what the Lord Jesus is referring to when He says if we believe in God then also believe in Him, as quoted below,
Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know.”
John 14:1-4
The New Jerusalem is described in Revelation 21 and continues through Revelation 22, along with the measurements done by the surveyor’s line.
“Again proclaim, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts: “My cities shall again spread out through prosperity; The Lord will again comfort Zion, and will again choose Jerusalem.” ’ ” Zachariah 1:17 In Revelation, the Apostle John refers to the new heaven and earth in relation to the New Jerusalem. That’s because the Jerusalem on this earth is the old Jerusalem and will not exist in Heaven. When this prophecy is made about comforting and choosing Jerusalem again, it refers to the New Jerusalem in the new heaven and new earth.
Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”
Revelation 21:2-4
We know His cities are not places on earth and the prosperity is not earthly because the Lord Jesus has told us that His Kingdom is not of this earth. “Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.” John 18:36. Jesus also made it clear that the only way to see the Kingdom of God is to be born again, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” Jon 3:3
The Four Horns scattering the people of God, and the Craftsmen. “Then I raised my eyes and looked, and there were four horns.” Zachariah 1:18
The four horns refer to all the earth, such as in all directions like North, South, East, and West. That is noted in this verse, “Therefore the male goat grew very great; but when he became strong, the large horn was broken, and in place of it four notable ones came up toward the four winds of heaven.” Daniel 8:8 The four horns in that verse refers to the power the global government received after a large horn was broken. A powerful nation was broken after WW2 and its power went to the four notable horns towards the four winds. That describes how the United Nations was formed immediately after WW2 and brought the global government of the beast (as described in Daniel 8).
“And I said to the angel who talked with me, “What are these?” So he answered me, “These are the horns that have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem.” Zachariah 1:19 Today, we see how the land of Israel is scattered with many divisions, a lot of conflict, and the government of the State of Israel being made an international outcast. Literally speaking, Judah is in the territory of the West Bank, Jerusalem is divided between West and East Jerusalem, and no one can be sure what territory is being referred to when just the name of Israel is spoken. That is the strategy of the four horns, which is the global government of the beast operating as the United Nations.
When the name of Jerusalem is mentioned, we followers of Jesus Christ must perk up our ears and listen. We are those of the New Jerusalem, and Christianity is being scattered as well. There is no gathering place for Christians in the churches because the Gospel of Jesus Christ no longer exists there. That means fellowship in the Holy Spirit doesn’t exist because Jesus is who gives the Holy Spirit by the remission of sin. The values of the Bible no longer exists in government lawmaking, and the educational system refuses to educate from the teachings of the Bible, and Christianity is unwelcomed in every sector of society.
“Then the Lord showed me four craftsmen. And I said, “What are these coming to do?” So he said, “These are the horns that scattered Judah, so that no one could lift up his head; but the craftsmen are coming to terrify them, to cast out the horns of the nations that lifted up their horn against the land of Judah to scatter it.” Zachariah 1:20-21
Zachariah asked what the Four Horns and the Four Craftsmen came to do. The Four Horns came to destroy the State of Israel as well as to destroy Christianity. The Four Craftsmen came to terrify the Four Horns of the world’s nations and to destroy them. When Jesus Christ comes back, He will have those Craftsmen with Him as His armies from Heaven. They come to destroy the global government of the beast and all those who live for it.
The global culture of the beast consists of those who welcome the thing which forms what they think, feel, do, and say. It enables the image of the beast to live and speak through people and in what they say and do they harass belief in God, harass the Gospel of Christ, and harass the Holy Spirit. They are conformed to the global culture of the beast by what they say and do as they are groomed to the mark of the beast. When they are destroyed, the Four Craftsmen will begin working on the New Jerusalem in the new heaven and earth.
“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,“
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
“I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25, 3:1
