Who Owns the Sunshine?

What is it about open doors and windows? It’s a beautiful and sunny day today reaching near the 70’s. So, I opened the doors and windows of my ground floor apartment. I was able to enjoy about 10 minutes of the birds singing and the fresh Spring breeze. Then the un-Springlike sounds and odor started to roll in. There was some harsh and loud joking coming from a group across the parking area. Then I started to smell cigarette smoke coming into my windows screens from the opposite side. Then a family pulled up in a car to visit another neighbor and for some reason the lady had to keep running out to her car. In the process she was talking loudly from the car to the person in the apartment and kept banging the car doors shut. It seemed like my sunshine was being taken away. It would require another paragraph of talking about trying to walk through a door when others are around. “They have also shut the doors of the porch and put out the lamps and have not burned incense or offered burnt offerings in the holy place to the God of Israel.” 2 Chronicles 29:7

I know that they are trying to steal more than just my sunshine, they want to take away everything that Jesus gives me. They want to take my joy, my peace, my goodness, and definitely my patience. Anyway, it’s going to take more than a few slammed doors and loud talking to pull me away from my life in Christ. Jesus says, “I am the door: by me if any man enters in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” John 10:9-11
