Since the fall of Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden, humanity has been searching for a way back to that beautiful place! Finding the path to that ideal world is probably what all the turmoil and conflict in this world is all about. And yet, even the Holy Spiirt speaks of this fruitful field through the prophet Isaiah. “Is it not yet a very little while, and Lebanon shall be turned into a fruitful field, and the fruitful field shall be esteemed as a forest?” Today, we know that we enter into that fruitful field by what Jesus Christ did for us on the Cross, and through the resurrection power of God His Father. From today, for those of us who confess with our mouth and believe in our heart that Jesus Christ is Lord, we have the promise of that eternal fruitful field within the New Heaven and New Earth!
The life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ opened to us a new book, a new word so that the deaf can hear the Word and the blind would see out of the darkness. “And in that day shall the deaf hear the words of the book, and the eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity, and out of darkness.” The message of the Cross is simple, there is the remission of sin and the infilling of the Holy Spirit for those who follow the way of the Cross of Jesus Christ. That simply means we no longer live for the things within the kingdom of this world, but now we focus on the eternal treasures within the Kingdom of God. We do not even try or do not in no way even desire to satisfy the evil persuasion that creates animosity in this world. We see our way out of the darkness of this evil world into the light coming from the Word of God.
In the days of the anti-Christ, be prepared to live among the poor! Within the system of the anti-Christ, all wealth is generated according to loyalty to the system of the anti-Christ. As people who follow the Word of God, people who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, there will not be an abundance of resources. In fact, we don’t fight, squabble, become harsh, aggressive, nor obnoxious in order to obtain the materialism and pleasure of this world. A meek and gentle spirit of peace is of far more worth than anything that this world offers. “The meek also shall increase their joy in the Lord, and the poor among men shall rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.” That is our joy in the Lord, to be free from oppression that keeps us in bondage to ugly attitudes towards others and diminishes the Spirit of Christ. Our freedom comes through the dormancy of sin and the manifestation of the Holy Spirit.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16
