The Beauty Of Their Excellency Will Be As When God Overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah

In today’s scripture, Babylon is called “the glory of kingdoms, the beauty of the Chaldee’s excellency.” BUT, then goes on to say that Babylon “will be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah.” The two descriptions are because on the outside the Babylonians did appear to be a glorious kingdom, but on the inside they were full of the wickedness and sin of Sodom and Gomorrah. The Book of Daniel gives an absolute clear insight into the Babylonians, which distinctly reveals their outer glory and inward corruption. The first 6 chapters of Daniel provides a real clear picture of the Babylonians!

In Chapter 1 of Daniel, the Babylonian King brought in the best of the best from among their captives. They were charming, intelligent, and glorious people. Then, for three years he had them indoctrinated, their language was changed, their diet was changed, and basically their culture was erased to conform to the Babylonian way of life. After three years they were put into the service of the king. The four Jewish boys, lead by Daniel, refused to defile their spirit with the King’s meat. In other words, a ruler can change outward expressions and appearances, but the heart can only be changed by the Spirit of God! This is an example of why Babylon was the glory of kingdoms, but would be overthrown like Sodom and Gomorrah. Jesus Christ said, “Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also.” The anti-Christ attempts the same tactics as the Babylonians, through the program of the 666, but is overthrown as well.

In chapter 2 of Daniel, the king of Babylon expected all the wise men and astrologers to know what his dream and vision was. They couldn’t because as glorious as their wisdom and stargazing was, it did not reveal the secret things within the Spirit of God. They had outward worldly ability, but nothing of internal glory. It was given to Daniel to know the king’s matter! Daniel revealed the  glorious dream and described the image from the gold head right down to it’s iron and clay ten toes, and even described it’s destruction by our Lord Jesus Christ! Then the king of Babylon bowed to Daniel and worshipped him, and even said Daniel’s God was a God of gods and a Lord of kings. This was nothing more than flattery and lip service, coming from an outward way of life and not having a clue of the internal value of the Living God. In the day of the anti-Christ, he speaks many flatteries and words of peace to come to power. Is it any wonder that our lord Jesus Christ said, “…cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also.”

In chapter three of Daniel, we ask the question, “So what did the king of Babylon do with the dream that Daniel revealed to him?” The answer is that he built an image like it, that was all gold from head to toe. It is as if he had such a glorious vision of his own ambitions that he missed the total message of the Spirit of God that Daniel presented to him. Totally glorious on the outside but totally like Sodom and Gomorrah on the inside. The king even ordered everyone to worship the image at the sound of the music. At this point, makes us wonder what happened to praise and worship music in today’s age. The all gold image is very far from the image of the Lamb of God who gave His Life for the whosoever. The king of Babylon is constantly trying to use policies and laws to order people to worship or not worship certain people, ideas, and things. Of course, we know that the heart cannot be changed by the letter of the law, in fact those policies and laws are murder to the spirit. The four Jewish boys refused to worship the image, was thrown into a fiery furnace to be executed, but the Lord Jesus Christ delivered them! The anti-Christ will also pass laws to make loyalty to the system of the anti-Christ mandatory, and anyone refusing the 666 will be severely persecuted and put to death. This explains why relying on external glory is very treacherous, and explains why Jesus Christ tells us to be clean inwardly so that outwardly we will be clean!

In chapter 4 of Daniel, the king of Babylon had a vision of a great and glorious tree reaching even to the heavens! This tree, as explained to the king by Daniel, was the great reach of the kingdom of the Babylonians! This is like the ten kingdoms of this present day world, as dictated by the New World Order, which is from one end of the earth to the other, and I’m sure reaches into the heavens with modern technology! Daniel advised the king to do something towards repentance, and that request of Daniel reveals how ruthless this kingdom was to the “non-glorious” people. Daniel told the king to break off his sins by doing righteousness! Wow! Daniel boldly told the king how unrighteous he was and how much like Sodom and Gomorrah his kingdom really is. Daniel goes on to tell the king to cut off his iniquities by showing mercy, by showing mercy to the poor. The king had a glorious kingdom, with glorious people, which persecuted and neglected everyone else. Daniel promised that by doing righteously and showing mercy, the king’s kingdom would be prolonged in tranquility. The king refused! He took comfort in the external glory and reach of his kingdom, while neglecting the spirit and soul. He lost it all, he became a homeless man, with no power or glory, and degraded to one with the heart of a beast! When he did seem to truly repent to the One True God, nothing more is heard of him, and the next we hear is from his wicked son Belshazzar! (Not Belteshazzar, who is Daniel)

In Daniel chapter 5, we see exactly how they had their focus on external glory, and were full of the wickedness of Sodom and Gomorrah on the inside. When Israel was taken into captivity, the Babylonians took all the golden and silver cups and spoons etc. from out of the Temple of the Living God. They put all those beautiful looking gold and silver things into the temple of their gods. This is equivalent to taking the Holy Bible and removing the Holy Spirit from it, then using it to justify every evil thing that is done! The apostle Paul calls this preaching a different Jesus than the one who died on the Cross, was buried, and rose again for the remission of sin and infilling of the Holy Spirit. King Belshazzar was having a party akin to the types they would have had during the peak of the sins of Sodom and Gomorrah, and using the cups of the Holy God to drink from. This is like trying to justify their indulgence in worldly lusts according to the Holy Bible. Well, the hand writing on the wall said differently, that Belshazzar had left a lot to be desired regarding his righteousness, and his kingdom would end. King Belshazzar died that night! It is so important to take head to what Christ Jesus said, “Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also.”

In chapter six of Daniel, Daniel is thrown into the Lion’s den for not depending on the king of Babylon for his needs. That was yet another law passed that required everyone to make petitions of the king in order to have their needs met. If anyone asked for their needs to be fulfilled through anyone else, they would be refused and executed. Well, Daniel continued to bring his requests to the One True God, and refused to rely on the king of Babylon for what only the Living God could provide. He was thrown into the Lion’s den, but the Living God spared his life. Once again, issues of the spirit and soul cannot be legislated with laws, policies, and the letter of the law. Those pieces of legislation will murder the spirit and will murder our relationship to the Spirit of God. In the day of the anti-Christ, all needs will be required to be met through the system of the anti-Christ. That’s because all resources will be determined to be under the ownership of the anti-Christ. And, the only way to receive those resources will be to abandon faith in the Living God, reject the Message of the Cross of Christ, and shun the presence of the Holy Spirit. Even in the Great Tribulation people will be saved, and they will make themselves clean on the inside  by accepting what Christ Jesus did for them on the Cross.

This is a good place to insert the scripture for today; “And Babylon, the glory of kingdoms, the beauty of the Chaldees’ excellency, shall be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah. It shall never be inhabited, neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation: neither shall the Arabian pitch tent there; neither shall the shepherds make their fold there But wild beasts of the desert shall lie there; and their houses shall be full of doleful creatures; and owls shall dwell there, and satyrs shall dance there. And the wild beasts of the islands shall cry in their desolate houses, and dragons in their pleasant palaces: and her time is near to come, and her days shall not be prolonged.”                    Isaiah 13:19-22

Only through the Cross of Christ can our spirit be cleansed and our soul infilled with the fruitfulness of the Holy Spirit. It is the internal Glory of the Living God that brings eternal life, but the glory within the ten kingdoms of this world is corrupt! God’s plan of redemption is for the remission of sin, which means that our sin is made dormant, rendered inactive, and made to do nothing through us. There is no way for the anti-Christ to corrupt us with the glory of this world because we exist through the Glory that flows from the Kingdom of God. As Christ Jesus abides in us, we are set apart from the obligations of this world. Like Daniel and his three counterparts, we live for the internal Righteousness of God as we reject the godless policies and laws of the anti-Christ. We will not accept the 666. Regardless of how glorious and beautiful the external world seems, we know that it is only through what Christ Jesus did for us on the Cross is there true Salvation and Glory!

Believe in your heart and confess with your mouth that Jesus Christ is lord.

Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also.  Matthew 23:26
