Where Will You Leave Your Glory?

I’ve seen several movies through the years of international police seeking criminals who are trying to hide. The criminals will hide in migrant caravans by bowing low and marching along with them. I’ve also seen a war movie where the enemy was so thoroughly defeated that they hid under the slain bodies to hide from the avengers. The criminal loses the glory he had as a mob boss, and the oppressive war general loses his glory being forced to hide from his pursuers. The Living God asks the corrupt leaders of the kingdom of this world, “what will you do in the day of visitation?” Then continued by asking, “…where will you leave your glory?” The Living God planned to pay these corrupt people a visit and declared, “…they will bow down under the prisoners, and they will fall under the slain.” That is not a glorious picture for the godless leadership within the kingdom of this world, but it is a glorious picture of Judgment coming from the Kingdom of God through Christ Jesus! Where will you leave your glory, somewhere in the kingdom of this world or will it be stored within the Kingdom of God?

Hiding from the judgment or consequences of our actions began with Adam and Eve! Adam and Eve hid from God after disobediently eating from the tree of the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil! We try to avoid judgment! BUT, God knows where our heart is! When God found them, Adam and Eve immediately began to blame others; Adam blamed Eve and Eve blamed the serpent! Politicians are a superb example of trying to hide within the prisoners and hiding under the dead. When one political party is having difficulty passing legislation, failing to secure approval for a nomination, or not able to pass a budget proposal, they hide and blame! One political party will claim that their hands were tied and that their efforts were imprisoned by the unethical tactics of the other party. They are hiding among the prisoners and blaming others. Then, their other tactic is to hide behind outdated and dead laws by saying that their efforts are failing because of those useless and outdated laws. They are hiding under the dead! They are trying to avoid the judgment of the voters. They are trying to savage their glory from one another within the kingdom of this world instead of cleaving to the Glory that comes from the Kingdom of God through Christ Jesus. “How can you believe, which receive honor one of another, and seek not the honor that comes from God only?” Where will you leave your glory?

Very tragically, government leaders may cause the spiritual imprisonment and death of the spirit and soul of those they rule under. That imprisonment and death occurs when the ability to love the Living God with all our heart, soul, and mind is limited. When the Message of what Christ did for us on the Cross is oppressed, there are barriers to reconciliation with the life-giving Spirit of God. Love for one another is becoming cold. Because of insincere and ungodly policies of “tolerance,” “fairness,” and global integration, the presence of the Holy Spirit is grieved. The modern god of knowledge seems to be endorsed by government leaders around the world as the spirit and soul is imprisoned and slain! Knowledge is replacing faith. Then, in order to avoid the consequences of the coming judgment of angry and violent protesters, they claim that it is their soul and spirit that is being imprisoned and killed. They attempt to camouflage themselves as one of the protesters, to identify themselves with the imprisoned and slain!  Where will they leave their glory? “How can you believe, which receive honor one of another, and seek not the honor that comes from God only?”

Before Christ ascended into Heaven, He said that He leaves with us the Comforter, the Holy Spirit. Christ Jesus is far away but the Holy Spirit is near to our heart! Christ Jesus is Coming again to bring Judgment, and in that day of His visitation there will be desolation. There will be desolation of those who, by design, imprison and murder the spirit and soul! Where will your glory be? Will your glory be among those of the kingdom of this world who receives rewards for abiding by the modern god of knowledge who destroys faith? Or, will your glory be stored in the Kingdom of God whereby your spirit shines through the Spirit of Christ? We must believe in our heart and confess with our mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord! “How can you believe, which receive honor one of another, and seek not the honor that comes from God only?”

When we accept what Christ Jesus did for us on the Cross we are set apart from those spiritually imprisoned and dead. We receive the Spirit of Life and Liberty in Christ Jesus and we will definitely not be hiding among the imprisoned and dead. Because we abide in Christ, our glory is found in the Living God and is stored in the Kingdom of God. At the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, He will bring Judgment and desolation to the anti-Christ, and there will be no where to hide. It would be especially foolish to hide among the spiritually dead and imprisoned! Because Christ, who lives in us, is greater than he who is of the world, the sin that leads to death and imprisonment is rendered inactive, made dormant, and is not able to do nothing through us. Where will you leave your glory?

Scripture Text
“And what will you do in the day of visitation, and in the desolation which will come from far? to whom will you flee for help? and where will you leave your glory? Without Me they will bow down under the prisoners, and they will fall under the slain. For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.”
Isaiah 10:3-4 King James Version (KJV)

How can you believe, which receive honor one of another, and seek not the honor that comes from God only?”                John 5:44

  1. I am reminded of a certain world leader (initials S. H.) who enjoyed multiple palaces while his people were starving. When the American military captured him, he was hiding in a hole like a rat, muttering gibberish about being the president. It was a poignant reminder not to be blinded by the world system, but to keep a divine perspective. 😉
