If humanity has difficulty understanding sin as; corrupting a union with God, antagonizing the Living God, revolting against God, and going back from serving God, then maybe they would understand it better in terms of a mind full of sickness, a faint heart, unsoundness, wounds, bruises, and decaying and rotting sores that will not heal. The wages of sin is what is described above; it’s horrible, terrible, ugly, it stinks, and there is nothing pleasant about it at all. Sin causes separation from God and is spiritual death! God commanded Adam and Eve not to touch nor eat of the pleasant looking fruit from the tree in the midst of the Garden, but they couldn’t keep their hands off! The pleasant taste, feel, and appearance of the things of this world cause us to stray from God and it sickens us in soul, spirit, and body. The enticing trappings of Satan within this world, that appeals to the flesh, turns us into someone who is a corrupter, one who provokes the Living God to anger, one who intentionally turns away from the ways of God. One can become so hardened that there is no further discipline available to correct their behavior. A sin so full of rot, decay, and stink that it is incorrigible. BUT, there is healing in the Blood of Jesus Christ! There is only one cure for sin, one remedy, one immunization, and that is found at the Cross of Jesus Christ.
All we need to do is to look around our neighborhood, turn on the TV, read a newspaper, input feeds from the news media, and it is easily seen that the whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint. There are opioid epidemics across the nation and around the world, drug addiction to prescription medications, suicides, alcoholism, mental illnesses, and every physical, emotional, and mental illness imaginable. From the sole of the foot even to the head there is no soundness; but wounds, and bruises, and putrifying sores! There is no peace in the homes, schools, workplace, social events, and not even in everyday shopping experiences because of the violence, the madness, the rage, the terror! The whole head is sick and the heart faint! The modern god of this technological age is not our healer, BUT, there is healing in the Blood of Jesus Christ! Where is the acceptance, love, tolerance, and place of belonging for those embracing the Love of God who accept the healing power within the Blood of Jesus Christ?! Satan, through the sin of the flesh, has enflamed self-importance to promote self-love to sicken the soul, spirit, and body. The world turns away from the living God, becoming corrupt and evil to provoke the Lord to anger. There is no more correction left when we reject the healing Blood of Jesus Christ! The whole head is sick and the heart faint as we use our words and actions to indulge in the pleasures of this world instead of identifying with the Goodness of the Living God. BUT, there is healing in the Blood of Jesus Christ.
There is healing in the Blood of Jesus Christ! The sin in the world is a sickness that makes the whole head sick, and the whole heart faint. Sin becomes so deeply infected from the sole of the foot even to the head that there is no soundness in it; but instead there are wounds, and bruises, and putrifying sores: they have not been closed, neither bandaged up, neither mollified with ointment. There is a cure and it flows from the Cross of Christ and healing is in the Blood! The Blood cleanses the putrifying sores of the soul and spirit, we begin to welcome the Living God to dwell within us once again, and healing comes to heal our head and to heal our heart! The healing Blood of Jesus Christ is for the whosoever; the corrupters, the revolters, the evildoers, and the vilest of humanity. Jesus Christ sets us apart from the sin sickness of this world to make us presentable as a citizen of the Kingdom of God. Believe in your heart and confess with your mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord!
No one is perfect, which is to say that we are all flawed by sin. God honors that humble attitude. We all know someone whose life has been changed because of what Christ did on the Cross to remit sin. I am one. God honors that belief. Confessing that we are flawed with sin, and believing in the work of Jesus Christ on the Cross will reconcile us to God. That simple! Believe in the heart and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord.
“Ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evildoers, children that are corrupters: they have forsaken the LORD, they have provoked the Holy One of Israel unto anger, they are gone away backward. Why should you be stricken any more? you will revolt more and more: the whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint. From the sole of the foot even unto the head there is no soundness in it; but wounds, and bruises, and putrifying sores: they have not been closed, neither bound up, neither mollified with ointment. Your country is desolate, your cities are burned with fire: your land, strangers devour it in your presence, and it is desolate, as overthrown by strangers. And the daughter of Zion is left as a cottage in a vineyard, as a lodge in a garden of cucumbers, as a besieged city.” Isaiah 1:4-8
