What we do with our hands and actions is according to the character of the soul and spirit. There are many in society that seem to be unwanted and excluded. They have very little property or money, no family, and are definitely not active members in society. An evil society is preoccupied with their own pursuits of the enticements of this world, social approval by worldly standards, and to have the rewards of possessions and money. Meanwhile, the oppressed, the orphans, and the widows are treated as some type of stigma or leprosy who are rejected by the society surrounding them. Nursing homes are plagued with abuse towards the residents, poverty rates continue to worsen around the globe, and addiction to drugs and alcohol is a destructive force globally. These horrible conditions are a result of the evilness of sin, sinful hands cause the problem and refuse to lift a finger to help. Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings.
The condition of the soul can become so polluted with the cares of the materialism, desires of the flesh, money, and self-concern of this world that many are rejected. The rejected become oppressed, widows, and orphans. In God’s eyes, those sins are as scarlet and red like crimson, but change can come and those sins can become white as snow and made like wool! Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings! At the Cross of Jesus Christ there is cleansing of sin! Sin that is engrossed in the selfishness of this world can be made dormant, inactive, and to do nothing through actions and hands. With sin being put into dormancy, the Holy Ghost begins to become a part of what we do, and there is a desire to relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, and to plead for the widow! We must be willing to be set apart from the cares of this world by accepting what Christ Jesus has done for us at the Cross. We live in a very evil age, entering into the era of the anti-Christ, and society is being torn apart by evil doers who consider some people to be worthy of society’s blessings, and others not! Jesus Christ is Coming soon! The oppressed, orphans, and widows fall into the category of those rejected as a result of the evilness of the anti-Christ. But let us take heed to the words, “Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings.”
No one is perfect, which is to say that we are all flawed by sin. God honors that humble attitude. We all know someone whose life has been changed because of what Christ did on the Cross to remit sin. I am one. God honors that belief. Confessing that we are flawed with sin, and believing in the work of Jesus Christ on the Cross will reconcile us to God. That simple! Believe in the heart and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord.
“Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil; Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow. Come now, and let us reason together, says the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.” Isaiah 1:16-18 King James Version (KJV)
