The Kingdom of God is just that, the Kingdom of God. The Kingdom of God is not any part of this world, but it is a good part. Only one thing is needed for us to do, and that is to choose the good part. Every good part within the Kingdom of God flows to us through the Cross of Christ. Martha was very busy serving, working, and was troubled about many things, but her sister Mary was abiding at the feet of Christ. Martha complained to Jesus that’s she was doing all the work. Jesus’s answer was, “Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.” What was the difference between the two? Martha was engrossed into the cares and concerns of this world, but Mary was worshipping Jesus who was sent from the Kingdom of God. Anything that originates from this world takes us in an opposite direction from the Kingdom of God. Jesus is the good part that comes from the Kingdom of God. Only one thing is needed of us, and that is for us to choose the good part!
A person wanted to talk to me about my comments about the Churches becoming secular with bounce houses, barbecues, and fireworks while neglecting to deliver the Message of the Cross. He explained to me that because of the opioid epidemic they need to provide these services as a relief type of aid, an emotional and mental distraction. Only one thing is needed and that is for us to choose the good part, which is Christ Jesus! I replied that if I attended, or any other person who lived according to what Christ has done for us at the Cross attended, there would be unwelcoming comments hurled at us. He replied that there is nothing they can do about that, but still they refuse to preach the Gospel Message because it “interferes” with their community efforts. The system of the anti-Christ inches nearer and nearer into reality. Churches today are doing many works, and are very busy preparing for better community fellowship, but still they are troubled about many things. They are working according to the resources, efforts, and psychology of the world, but neglecting the Kingdom of God, and not abiding in Christ who is sent from the Kingdom of God. Only one thing is needed and that is for us to choose the good part, which is Christ Jesus! Us abiding in Christ is the only hope that anyone will come into the Kingdom of God to overcome the sin sick souls plagued with addictions and poverty. To those working according to the ways of the world it can be said, you are careful and troubled about many things, but one thing is needful, and those abiding in Christ has chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from them.
A common psychology that can be found in schools include the teaching of Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs. When I went to college to study business, Maslow’s psychology was taught in human resources, economics, marketing, and of course psychology. It is taught in school programs everywhere. It teaches business students that profits can be made by appealing to the health, safety, social belonging, ego or self-esteem, and the desire to become everything you want to be! Of course, just watch any product commercial and you will see Maslow’s psychology in action! They work laboriously to make profits according to the means of this world, but neglect the rewards that come from the Kingdom of God, and neglect what Christ has done for us on the Cross. The shopping experience today is much less satisfactory than it has ever been! Businesses are concerned and troubled about many things, but one thing is needful and that is to choose the good part. Jesus is that good part.
Maslow’s Hierarchy of needs affects society overall as it’s teachings permeate every job sector imaginable. People in authority in all sectors of society are taught to dwell on the basic needs of the human being. They are taught to relate to people according to the psychology of this world while neglecting the good part that comes from the Kingdom of God through the Cross of Christ. They believe they can solve the sin problem by supplying all levels of human needs. The needs of emotions, mental, physical, food, housing, safety, social acceptance, tolerance, respect, self-esteem, love, and accepting each person according to what they feel they are. They work laboriously to make the world a better place while neglecting the Kingdom of God and rejecting the good part of Jesus Christ. They are concerned and troubled about many things; such as increased mental, emotional, and physical abuses corresponding to drug epidemics and increasing poverty; increased level of violence and instability; social discrimination, displacement, and chaos; raging egos that tell other people they can’t be; and people being all they can be except the good part that comes from the Kingdom of God through the Cross of Christ. Only one thing is needed, and that is to choose the good part!
The Kingdom of God is the good part of living on this earth which flows from the Cross of Christ! What we feel within us is a foretaste of our Home in the New Jerusalem. Christ enables us to enter into the Kingdom of God because He is able to put our sin in remission to make it dormant and inactive. The cares, concerns, and troubles of many kinds come from the world, our fleshly efforts and desires, as well as Satan! Sin is found within the world and flesh which Satan uses to detract from the good part and causes us to be preoccupied with the worldly part. Allow Christ to make your sin dormant and choose the good part of the Holy Ghost which comes from the Kingdom of God. Only one thing is needful and that is for us to choose the good part, which is Christ Jesus! Be separate from the toil, work, and cares of this world and abide in Christ to worship Him. What you have from the Kingdom of God, through the Cross of Christ, will not be taken away! Believe in your heart and confess with your mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord.
“And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus’ feet, and heard his word. But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me.
And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.” Luke 10:39-42
