Spiritual Famine and Cannibalism

Leviticus 26:29 talks about cannibalism associated with famine. “And you shall eat the flesh of your sons, and the flesh of your daughters shall you eat.” Because of sin, rejection of God.

America is the greatest exporter of the Word of God. We know that America is being besieged for their belief in the Living God over the modern god of this technological age. When America is no longer free to do worldwide evangelism, there is going to be a drought of the Word of God on a worldwide scale. Humanity worldwide will be encouraged to purge their heart, soul, and mind from belief in a Living God. What Christ did on the Cross to reconcile us to the Word of God will be persecuted and thrown onto the garbage pile. The idea of following an internal guidance through the Holy Ghost will be persecuted! There will be a famine of the Spirit of God not comparable to anything in the history of humanity. That is why they call it the Great Tribulation! We know the Lord will be calling us Home soon, and we will be meeting Jesus in the New Jerusalem.

We know in years past, as in the days of the Old Testament, that people were not connected to the inward spiritual wealth that we have access to today. In fact, when Israel departed from following the written Law of the 10 Commandments, they had no internal moral compass to guide them. Israel suffered terribly for straying from God’s Commandments and turning to the ways of the world around them. The Bible reveals the horrid cultures surrounding Israel, of whom the Lord warned them not to adapt to. Other cultures sacrificed their children in fires of burning ovens, which really was a common practice of the heathens through out the world. Abraham almost sacrificed his own son!  Israel had the Word of the Lord given to them, which is what made them so different, and seemingly so vulnerable, in a very brutal and ancient world. They only had God to defend them, who anointed kings such as David, and anointed Prophets to guide them. When Israel departed from God’s Word, when they sinned, they were facing the world toe-to toe, separated from God. Things got ugly! Very, very ugly! There was no King David nor a Joshua to guide them to victory according to the Word of the Lord.  The scripture at the bottom of this post is only a very small example of what Israel suffered for departing from the Ten Commandments, for departing from all those sacrifices of bulls, lambs, goats, doves, etc.

Famine can be brutal! An army besieged Samaria, where Israel was occupying, and they besieged it until the conditions of famine were brutal. An ass’s head was sold for twice as much as what the whole body would normally cost. They were eating what they could from the head! Dove’s dung was sold for much the same price, and yes, some people say that the dung was used as salt, while others tone it down to say dung refers to a vegetable. The worst of the atrocity of the famine is that mothers, women of Israel, were taking turns eating each other’s children. Cannibalism! We need the Word of the Lord! At the appearing of the Anti-Christ, there is going to be an horrid spiritual famine. A famine so severe that the Word of God will not be the guiding principle of people’s moral code. What Christ did at the Cross will be totally purged from people’s heart, soul, and mind! There will not be the teaching of remission of sin nor of living a life in the guidance of the Holy Ghost. The Word of God will be as gone from the world as during this time when Israel sinned against God and disregarded the Ten Commandments of God, and disregarded the animal sacrifices. For us today, the sacrifice is Christ on the Cross of Calvary, but then it was a way to keep them separate from the awful. awful, practices of the heathens around them.

People think we live in horrid days today, and we do, but as we continue to inch towards the day of the Anti-Christ, it is going to be out-right horrid! Everyone agrees that the Living God is being removed from the countries around the world. The only debate is that for some it promotes a worldly “tolerance.” Like in the scripture below, eating each other’s child was not the crime, but the issue of a mother hiding her child was the crime presented to the king! Cannibalism was a norm tolerated, but not allowing the child to be ate was intolerable. For others, we know that to remove God from the world will have turbulent consequences. We need to accept that we are depraved and horrid sinners in need of a moral code to guide us internally. A Moral Code flowing from the Cross of Christ, ordained by God the Father, so that we can fellowship in the Spirit of His Love, Peace, Faithfulness, and Salvation Plan!

God wants all people to be reconciled to His Spirit of Love, Compassion, Mercy, and Faithfulness. He wants to pull us apart from the merciless ways of the world. What Christ did for us at the Cross is to reconcile us to God His Father. By believing in what Christ did for us, and confessing with our mouth, our heart, soul, and mind can be filled with the Word of God. The world needs to hear the Word of God before the famine hits us with unheard of proportions! The Word of God, which is Jesus Christ the Gospel message, separates us from a cold, hard, and treacherous world.

“And it came to pass after this, that Benhadad king of Syria gathered all his host, and went up, and besieged Samaria. And there was a great famine in Samaria: and, behold, they besieged it, until an ass’s head was sold for fourscore pieces of silver, and the fourth part of a cab of dove’s dung for five pieces of silver. And as the king of Israel was passing by upon the wall, there cried a woman unto him, saying, Help, my lord, O king. And he said, If the Lord do not help thee, whence shall I help thee? out of the barnfloor, or out of the winepress? And the king said unto her, What aileth thee? And she answered, This woman said unto me, Give thy son, that we may eat him to day, and we will eat my son to morrow. So we boiled my son, and did eat him: and I said unto her on the next day, Give thy son, that we may eat him: and she hath hid her son.”
