We see light all around us 24 hours a day and seven days a week. When we see “clear as day” then we feel full of light, but when we see darkness then we feel full of darkness. Likewise, as the Temple of God, we can be full of light which makes us a light to those around us. Even then, Satan wants to be the light within the Temple of God, which serves only to scandalize the way of God while making the ways of the world appear profitable. When Satan becomes the light, within the Temple of God, he is like a bug zapper because he draws people into the lifestyles of the world to zap the life out of them. When Christ Jesus is the Light of the House of God, He draws people to give life through the Spirit, and to give it abundantly. A battle rages over who becomes the light within the Temple of God; will the light be the modern “god” who attempts to prove that God is not necessary, or will it come from the Cross of Christ who powers us with the Light of the Holy Spirit?
As the light of the world, we show others what it means to love God with all our heart, soul, and mind. There is nothing in this world that is more important than God, and we want everyone to know that truth. Our words always speak of God with respect and the deepest honor, praise and thankfulness that we can offer. The only light that we really have comes by resting in what Christ has done for us on the Cross, He is the Light of the world that lives in us, for us to work tirelessly to make that Light shine produces nothing but darkness. Light comes from God’s Grace not our own efforts. We are respectful to those in authority; including police officers, government powers, and parents. The world sees the Light we shine as God’s Children and will respond negatively….or positively. Satan will attempt to oppress that Light, the Light which comes from the Message of the Cross. In a violent and turbulent world we are a Light of God’s Peace, Mercy, and Compassion. In a world of unfaithfulness, sexual assaults, and sexual perversion we are a Light of Faithfulness and Devotion. Satan’s light only serves to dwell on the hopeless nature of fallen humanity, and all his demons call out, “there is no God.” Satan is a liar and dwells in falsehoods and false accusations, but we who live in the Light of God know the truth of redemption by the Cross of Christ. We are witnesses of the resurrection of the Spirit of life after being dead in sin. Satan is like a burglar who wants to cut the power line to the light so that he can steal, kill, and destroy the Light of the world.
Every single person born into this world are born into a world full of behaviors surfacing from the sinful nature of fallen humanity. The only remedy is to put sin into remission so that we can be reconciled to the Spirit of God. We are the light to make that message known! People need to see in us that it is possible to possess another Spirit than what is present in the world. We live that life everyday and we know it is for everyone the same as it is for us. Satan wants to keep us embroiled into the ways of the world, to hide the cure to sin, and to keep the stone of sin blocking the tomb to prohibit access into the presence of a living God. However, we are a light to the world that sends a message that Satan is defeated and there is resurrection of Life after the death of sin. We have personally experienced the ways of this world being nailed to the Cross to live a life set apart from the world by the Holy Spirit. Every bit of Light in us is only because of what Christ has done on the Cross for us. He is the Light of the world, the only Light of the world, and through the Holy Spirit lives within the heart, soul, and spirit of every believer. We have a Home awaiting for us in the New Jerusalem, we are not of this world and our Light is from the trinity of God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We have the Light and are witnesses of that Heavenly Home.
“Then spoke Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that follows me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”
John 8:12 and Matthew 5:14, 16
