We are the Temple of God; our soul, spirit, body, mind, emotions, etc. are places for the Spirit of God to occupy. But there is a stone, a big and huge stone blocking the entrance into the doorway of God’s presence. That stone is called sin! Who will roll away that stone? That question implies an effort that we need to make to roll that sin away, but there is nothing we can do by our own abilities to roll that sin away. The modern “god” of this society utilizes technology to control the Temple of God, but those human efforts are not solving the sin problem. There is no love for the living God, or anything else that attempts to override the god of this technological age. The god of this present age vigilantly demands to sit as minister of the House of God instead of Christ Jesus who is the True minister of His father’s House.
Within the tombs, where the stones are many, are many demons that no person can chain, shackle, or bind. The flesh suffers in the world where Satan is able to control the House where sin is too heavy to roll away. The True God is under persecution by those of the modern age seeking to establish their new world by seizing control over the Temple of God. They block entrance into the presence of God and demand undivided allegiance to their Godless dictates. They have made themselves more important than the indwelling of God the Father, the Son, and Holy Spirit. Mockery, disrespect, and all forms of blaspheme are hurled at anything that attempts to de-stone the modern “god” from the House of God. They fight against anyone who asks, “Who will roll away the stone?” Authority of every type is disrespected, including parents, if that authority opposes those trying to seal the tomb within God’s Temple, your body. They refuse to rest in what Christ has done for us on the Cross, because that rest rolls away the stone into God’s presence. Violence, conflict, harshness, and every harmful human interaction is a result of blocking access into God’s presence. Who will roll away the stone? In God’s presence is where the resurrection power exists to give victory over the flesh and give new life through the holy Spirit. Sexual perversion is rampant as domestic family life is in turmoil. Satan’s lie is that we need to honor the modern “god” in order to experience peace. Meanwhile, Satan continues to steal, kill, and destroy anything and anyone who does not worship the “god” within the Temple of God. Satan is liar and will always make the grass seem greener on the other side of the fence…however, he won’t say a word about what awaits us on the other side of the Cross. Coveting what the world has is the beginning of the death that keeps us in a tomb of allegiance to sin and the anti-Christ.
The stone can be rolled away! Who will roll away the stone? Through the Cross of Christ it will be rolled away. Not only is the stone rolled away, but the tomb is empty…the power of God brought the resurrection of Jesus Christ. We too can experience the resurrection power! The heavy stone of sin will be rolled away and there will not be found a body of Spiritual death in the tomb, but instead the miracle of the resurrection of the Spirit’s Life. But not by any efforts of our strengths or abilities because sinful humanity cannot cure their own fallen nature. Flesh and blood cannot cure a Spiritual sickness. The stone rolls away only because of the sacrifice that the sinless and Incarnate Jesus made for us on the Cross. The pure blood He shed covers our sin and is to reconcile the Temple of God back to God His father. Who will roll away the stone? God will! And Satan will fight everyday and every moment to retake the House, but Satan is defeated at the Cross. Our acceptance of Christ into the Temple of God allows the Holy Spirit to work in us to defeat Satan every moment of our day. We set ourselves apart from the world, where Satan sets on the throne as God, but our Home is of the New Jerusalem and not of this world. The persecution of God’s children is here with us today, but the Coming again of our lord Jesus Christ is soon!
“When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices so that they might go to anoint Jesus’ body. Very early on the first day of the week, just after sunrise, they were on their way to the tomb and they asked each other, “Who will roll the stone away from the entrance of the tomb?” But when they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had been rolled away. As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe sitting on the right side, and they were alarmed. “Don’t be alarmed,” he said. “You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him. But go, tell his disciples and Peter, ‘He is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you.’ Mark 16:1-6
