People were coming from all around the world, into one central location, to celebrate a special event. Maybe something on the scale of the world Olympics where people from all nations would gather. Now, imagine that terrorists somehow seize world control and demand that the only money that could be used is their currency. Everyone had to come to the table of the money changers to trade in their local currency for the currency of the terrorists. That is the only way they would be able to buy or sell anything. Howbeit, even the paraphernalia had the embedded terrorist’s branding. It would embitter and create a dark mood throughout the international event. Somehow, a group of counter-terrorists sabotaged the ability of the money changers to do their trading, and sabotaged the sale of the terrorist branded merchandise. However, those organizing the event were getting rich from the money funneled to them by the terrorists. Those organizers were intent to destroy the counter terrorists. This scenario is just about a mirror image of what happened when Jesus overturned the tables of the money-changers and the benches of those selling doves.
The money we have from God is the Holy Spirit to bring remission of sin through the Blood shed by Jesus Christ on the Cross. We are living in days where the money changers are demanding that we hand over the Money of the Holy Spirit in exchange for their money. Their money serves to separate people from the presence of God, which means it is based on physical lusts of the eyes, lusts, of the flesh, pride, materialism, and every sort of non-spiritual thing. They do not believe in a living God, do not believe in redemption through the Cross of Christ, and they do not believe in the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit. Their “merchandise” erases evidence of the One True God. Their intent is to demand allegiance to their monetary system by refusing to let people buy or sell unless money has their mark. We are to set ourselves apart from any system that refuses to recognize the remission of sin by the Cross of Christ. Being set apart from the world and the ways of the flesh is to be set apart from Satan and the anti-Christ.
We die to the sin of flesh but are resurrected in Life of the Spirit. Our home is not here on Earth, but is with God in the New Jerusalem by accepting what Christ has done for us on the Cross. Satan wants control of the Temple of God, your internal world, by changing God’s intended money system. God wants our thoughts, emotions, behavior, soul, and spirit to be full of the Fruit of the Holy Spirit. Satan wants the Temple of God to be full of his “merchandise and “money” to pollute God’s Love, Grace, Mercy, Faithfulness, and compassion towards the whosoever. Praise God there is a day coming when Satan’s table of money-changers will be overturned, and the benches of his merchandise as well. Satan has already been defeated on the Cross of Christ and that is our victory in an evil and dark era. Salvation is of God…not of this world.
“On reaching Jerusalem, Jesus entered the temple courts and began driving out those who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves, and would not allow anyone to carry merchandise through the temple courts. And as he taught them, he said, “Is it not written: ‘My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations’? But you have made it ‘a den of robbers.’” The chief priests and the teachers of the law heard this and began looking for a way to kill him, for they feared him, because the whole crowd was amazed at his teaching” Mark 11:15-18
