Typical

Typical and natural seems to be the common words for describing the spiritual aspect of a person. To have the distinctive qualities of a person who cares heartily for humanity and the planet is typical, natural, and even part of the survival process. This causes a typical sentiment to rise in me in the form of a question: What in the world is happening to throw off the typical and natural inclinations of people and the planet? People are behaving very badly and the planet is throwing a tantrum of its own.

Seems to me that “Doctor Evil” and “Mini Me” are conspiring to upset the natural order of things by ruining our happiness, pleasure, and reward system.  I understand that Dopamine is the happy juice for our body. Psychology Today says; “Dopamine is a neurotransmitter that helps control the brain’s reward and pleasure centers. Dopamine also helps regulate movement and emotional responses, and it enables us not only to see rewards, but to take action to move toward them. That explains it! Negative feedback is given for spiritual qualities to prohibit Dopamine, and positive reinforcement is given for bad behavior to substitute that Dopamine.

Anyway, I’m going to deviate from the typical responses of violence in a world gone mad. I’m choosing the spiritual rewards to keep my motivation of joy and comfort moving forward. May the spirit of peace and love be with us during the reoccurring violence and conflict.

    1. Marilyn, I think of the caterpillar and the butterfly when chatting about that issue. Which one is the natural order, the caterpillar or the butterfly? Of course both are natural, but the conflict is when the change begins to transpire. I believe the most vulnerable place for any of us is within the cocoon! A caterpillar doesn’t always have to be a caterpillar, and can’t be…we have to be allowed to change inwardly…there seems to be a lot of turbulence in our efforts to grow wings to become the butterfly that we are meant to be.
